I think for this type of design the gloss coat is best because of the glitter. It doesn't make sense to matte a glitter design in general, but if it is a personal preference I won't knock it. For me glitter needs gloss and solid colors work with matte or gloss.

How do you keep ur shape when I do my nails they always seem to be wider then the nail originally was when not doing the lazy girl method

Sometimes my shape is a mess too when applying the polygel on the nail tip. What I try to do is use the spatula side or even the brush to remove any polygel that’s making the shape of the nail too wide.
