  • Today's DIY nail video is going to be this pink glitter ombre tutorial with some chit chat mixed in.
    I'll be using full cover gel nail tips (yeah, made out of soft gel instead of plastic!) that are available through Amazon Prime and a Makartt polygel kit.
    Feel free to leave any questions, video requests, and recommendations in the comments...
    Be helpful and be kind.
    Thank you so much for being here!

    I love using polygel for my full cover nails and as you said, it makes applying the sculpted full tips sooo much easier. I still somehow manage to get some air bubbles though, but I’m getting better. 😅 I’ve also learned that you can use primer to chemically etch inside the nail tips instead of filing. Another game changer! 😁 Thanks for this vid!! 😍

    Excellent. Sadly I've been failing and failing with polyglot and DUAL FORMS. What a mess. 9 hrs to finally get them on acceptably. THIS VIDEO is so exciting for me. Using Full coverage soft gel tips is the best result for me so far. I'm not good at sculpting. This method is a blessing because it doesn't leave that gross build up of product between natural nail and finger skin ( eponychium ). And this is a way to encapsulate art embellishments and glitter without a mess. WHAT A GODSEND !!!
    can't wait to try this today ! 😊😅

    Polygel in a sculpted gel tip is meant to give a higher apex (that slight look of sloping down), so you can go longer less risk of damaging your natural nails if the extensions get knocked. When you size a nice curved tip like that, go slightly wider than sidewall to sidewall to leave room for the proper amount of polygel! It’s also ensures better adhesion if you have flatter nail plates or oily nails so the set lasts longer.

    When on this journey together. I've tried the poly nails awhile back and it was a total disaster. But now, I'm glad u make mistakes and show how to get better doing any of your tutorials. I've seen Tubers that has 30+ years of experience. They can't really show the "beginner friendly approach ". I'm sure that it's their intention.

      One of the things I've noticed most is people not filing the surface of their polygel nails. They WILL look lumpy & bumpy, ya just have to smooth it out with a file. You should give them another try! 💜

I wanna start getting into nails a bit more and this looks like something easy enough to begin with, but I'm dreading the moment I would need to take them off, I don't wanna invest too much into an e file in case I decide I don't wanna do this anymore, is there a way to remove these nails without using a drill?

      They can last really well, depending on a few things. Aside from good nail prep, use the tips that are made from gel, because they will bond to the polygel/gel that you use to apply them. If you use plastic tips, they won't work quite so well.

    Do these last longer than using press on nails with nail glue?

    • @AaronW-ww4ds
      @AaronW-ww4ds 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah they do as using glue you only get a max of a few days from them as glue is a weak bond where as using gel is much stronger aswell as more flexible can even use a small bead of acrylic to do it to get the exact same wear as going to the salon for extentions

    • @NovaKnowsBeauty
      @NovaKnowsBeauty  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Definitely! I agree with Aaron, and also glue gets brittle over a short amount of time and loses its strength, whereas polygel, gel, or acrylic creates a bond and will last much longer.

    • @NovaKnowsBeauty
      @NovaKnowsBeauty  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're a bit bigger than your average size 0, but not huge.

    • @NovaKnowsBeauty
      @NovaKnowsBeauty  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you use plastic tips (instead of tips made from gel or acrylic), the product won't really bond to the tip. Instead, it ends up basically working like a dual form.
      The tips I used here are made from soft gel (they should be linked in the description) and Makartt has some made from acrylic. Another key is using just a thin layer of product to attach the tip to the nail.
      Hope this helps!
