A complete Watford Driving Test Route following the SatNav to Merryhill in Bushey.
This test route is most commonly used for the 12.38pm tests but can also be used at 9.07am, 10.14am and 11.11am.
Never "Route Learn" you should only take your driving test when you are able to drive safely on your own.
Make sure you have a comprehensive understanding of the rules for all aspects of driving within the UK.

There isn’t a specific route for that time of day I’m afraid. The examiner will decide on the morning depending on traffic conditions.
I had this route and at 23.39 in the video I failed for speeding however I was doing 33 but the examiner after told me it was a 30 mph road
Hey Did you allow your driving instructor to listen into the feedback with the examiner? It is unlikely you'd fail for simply doing 33mph. Quite frequently people can miss-interpret the feedback from the examiner and get confused with what it means
At 1:14, if you go left, what is the speed limit? Cos further down that road when you're coming the other way, it says national speed limit, but then there's no sign change to 30 anytime before/after the width restriction or Volkswagen garage.
So if you took the left turn instead of the right, what speed should you be going at? Cos I don't wanna be going 30 if it's national speed limit later on (the sign for the cars going the opposite way says that earlier)
If you go left it’s a 30mph limit.
It’s frustrating that the signage & road markings are so poor as it confuses many people.
When turning into Berry Grove Lane from Bushey Mill Lane you’re correct, there is a national speed limit sign.
It then changes back to 30mph before the bridge but the sign got knocked down a decade ago & they never replaced it.
Too be honest - all the way along that road you wouldn’t want to do more than 30mph anyway due to the bends, visibility & narrow road so just treat that whole area as a 30mph & you’ll be fine

Hi - If when turning left onto the a41 from Otterspool way and you are not supposed to keep left but carry on up the a41 to Asda would you still turn into the left lane and then once joined signal right into the middle lane?
Yes, if it’s safe ahead build up your speed before changing lanes to the right to continue along the A41.
(Although this won’t happen on test, there isn’t a route that does this)

I got this route, if i didnt see this video, i wud hav gone over the bus lane which wud be serious fault.. I passed my test with four minors.. 5 practical lessons in addition to ur videos saves me lot of money and long wait 😍😍

Traffic is really bad around the Watford test centre today due to roadworks so leave with plenty of time to get there
So helpful to watch this! Would have totally driven into that bus lane where you said its notorious for failing. Hopefully now i've seen this it helps! Also at - 15:40 if you creep into the road when the first lane is clear is that not okay?
It all depends on the traffic flow.
Providing you don’t cause any vehicles to slow down then it’s fine to go into the first lane.

The roundabout @5:08 has three lanes, you took the 2nd exit from the left lane....So I'm assuming it's OK to use the left lane for the 2nd exit at this roundabout?

6:57Why the Sat. Nav saying "keep left" but you kept going in the middle lane? I don't understand the reason....and before this, Sat Nav saying at the roundabout the 2nd exit, where is the 2nd exit? Thank you for your video, and i am learning the Watford routes.
The left lane goes left only at the traffic lights.
You need to go straight ahead, so you need the middle lane.
There is a very small service road to the left at the roundabout, it looks more like a driveway to us, but the gps on the satnav cannot recognise this so it considers it an exit.
When driving on your test the examiner will position the SatNav so you can see it clearly - follow the blue line and if there is anything you’re not sure of, ask in plenty of time

not sure if its a stupid question but when you’re asked to parallel park on your test do you go straight into the manoeuvre or can you pull up close to the curb first then go into it
Never such thing as a stupid question! 😊
The examiner will ask you to stop on the left first, they’ll then explain they want you to parallel park. They’ll point out which car you should use.
It can also be called “Reverse Park” and you’ll only do it on the left in a quiet residential area
5:06 you take the second exit and i can see the lane splits into 3 lanes, it looks like you stayed in the left lane but is it fine to be in the middle lane ?
Good question - On this particular junction there are no road markings. Therefore the rule is "Drive on the left unless overtaking or turning right"
So you'd only use the middle lane if you are overtaking other vehicles.

Test this Wednesday, I've never beet to Watford! First thing I noticed is how suddenly FAST this route is, my first test was in Luton and most roads around test centre were 20's so this is good to know and is INVALUABLE because otherwise I wouldn't be ready for this if I go this route, where I drive now is also pretty 'calm' so I rarely go at 70! That would have caused me to hesitate 100%

I didn't pass due to one big mistake (which, is very fair and understandable) but I have improved a lot since my first test and I am sure I'll be better next time! The roundabouts were a breeze, which I was so shocked as because normally I am terrified of them! So, no I didn't pass but I feel positive regardless!

Roundabout at 6:30, the SatNav says to take 2nd exit, but it looks like you take the first? Or is that drive in before considered an exit? Thank you! So helpful!
The first exit is just a small pathway for a business located down it.
It’s a dead end & not a proper road, which is why you won’t see it as an exit on the signposts.
The TomToms used for the driving test are not very accurate hence it says second exit.
Some examiners will even correct the satnav & let you know it is your first exit at the roundabout.

Hi you can never say for sure any route will be EXACTLY the same as road & traffic conditions can change. But an automatic driving test is carried out in exactly the same way as a manual driving test
