Nice video. This is about £571 ish worth of stuff but the problem is a lot of that is the books £130ish worth of books alone). The paints are the paints in last round's Warlord Games mystery boxes... Really feels like this is missing a larger box. The value is certainly LESS than the previous boxes.
I got my £150 box today got a tank the epic stuff the spqr and the scenery paints 3 books national guard marching hail Caesar romans Italian paras support and the Fallschirmjager and some judge dread stuff kinda happy with it got my £75 box coming the morn as ordered th few days apart great video
I received the £150 box today and watched your video and was raging! Only realised at the end you have the £75 and £150 in the same box! (even though its in the thumbnail - i only read the description)
Yeah I ordered them on the same account so they stuck them both in the same box. I was a little disappointed about that. I hope you managed to get some stuff you wanted in yours.
I saw lots of complaints last year about there being fantasy stuff in the boxes, coming from a warhammer angle thats what i was hoping for ironically - but didnt get any of that. I agree its a bit of fun and i'd probably do it again next year - but might go for 2x 75 as that way (in my head anyway) its a way to build an army if you get duplicates rather than a smattering of everything. I wish there was a way for people to trade with each other to swap out the bits they arent interested in.
If you look back through the playlist, back to the first mystery box's I have done, I did order one 75 pound box from my account and another from my wife's account. They did both vary in contents, but, there were a few duplicate items. I suppose that it is luck of the draw if you get different ones, or the same.
Now that there are enough videos, pictures, and stories of the mystery boxes it's interesting to see a peak into Warlord's business. For example, I got Gigant and Seelion, League of Fatties, and the Macedonian pikemen (who I kitbashed) between the two mystery boxes I got in the past. It shows what's stock that isn't necessarily selling, enough so that Warlord wants to push it in order to make room for higher selling products. I'm not surprised by the Epic given how much they must've made for anticipated demand, but I'm saddened how Warlord're getting rid of Mythicos, Cruel Seas still hasn't really picked up, and their picking process is exactly that. It's a corporate pick system, and individual packers don't have the flexibility to make even obvious changes (doubles of the same books, paints, etc into the bigger box send offs. But hey it's a great deal and I enjoy the fun of it. I'm ok with buying them as I'm buying a themed secret santa gift. Thanks as always for the lovely video!
I feel very much the same. I understand that they can only put the stock designated for each box, but surely there should be some flexibility for doubles.
I got my £150 box and thought it was very poor considering the hype and urgency on purchase. Just felt the items given were ok. But no WOW item. I told them such.
I agree. With the mega boxes, normally there is a big ticket item, like a starter box for a game, or an army starter box. If you look at the last mega box I opened, there was the pike and shotte starter box, it was a great addition to the box. I was kinda looking forward to that kina thing again.
@WrathRuin I just felt if they are giving you campaign books. I got 3, why not provide a starter set to try one out. I just feel for £150 it was totally underwhelming. I bought the £50 sets before and they were superb. Two items, and you had your £50, but loads of other items which made it a bargain. This time whoever was packing these weren't very creative with the choice. The response I got was we'll use it for feedback but not pleased I criticised. I won't be buying mystery boxes again. It felt it was getting rid of non selling stock. Like it or lump it
I got pretty much exactly the same in mine. About the only difference is where you got an Armoured Car I got a Soviet IS-2 Tank. Sadly, I ordered 2 x £150 boxes and 1 £75 box, so got a lot of duplicates. I feel if they box a £75 and a £150 together, they shouldn't dupe items. Total value of my haul was close to £900 so all in all, with useable stuff, I was up by approx £125 on the £375 I paid. The rest I'm going to trade against stuff I need in my local hobby shop. Ironically, I wish I had got the SPQR Rulebook. I don't agree with the 'Themed' mystery box idea, because even then, people are gonna start saying "They should do a British Bolt Action mystery Box" or a "German themed mystery box". Then it pretty much stops being a mystery box.
I am in agreement with you about the duplicates in the same box, that part was a bit of a letdown. I'm glad you will be able to trade a lot of the stuff you won't be able to use. I also agree with the dedicated Bolt boxs. When does a mystery box become a not so mystery box? 'Buy the British Bolt Action mystery box, it may have British in it, or, it may have some British in it!'. I could see people wanting a British SAS mystery box, or a German Grenadier box if it came to it!
Not had any warlord stuff before so fancied a punt. Bit disappointed - you get as much bolt action in the £75 box as you do in the £150 - no way is the 150 anywhere near as good as 2x 75 boxes. I got the armoured car and german paras - NOT the Tiger or the Russians.
My 150 box had the 3 books tiger tank Russian inf box of Prussian epic pack of 24 nap French metal box of romans La haye saint cruel seas frigates 2000ad fatties spqr box 2 magazines and some smaller items plus 28mm dak Sprue oh and the paint set
Seriously? How can you be English and not know the name of the farm that sat in the middle of the Waterloo battle field gauling (Did you see what I did there?) the French and their attacks on the Allied ridge.

I thought this as well. The last box I did had a pike and shotte starter box, this one didn't have any 'big ticket' item in it.

Ah that's a great haul! Hope you get some nice bits in your second box!

when do they rotate is it every two months or 3 i am trying to get one but cant never catch it in time
It kinda varies. If you sign up to their email newsletter, it normally says in that. I'll post a short up on the channel when the next one come up.
@WrathRuin thanks man I just sign up

you got a really good pull
Yeah there was some really nice kit in there.
Lot of stuff in there shame about it being mixed together but at least its alot of stuff your into which is a bonus for these
Sure is. A load of stuff that can be used!

cool vid thanks lee
Thanks!
Too random content for me. I get it you can sell on what you don’t want but still I’d rather a period or rule system specific selection. Good unbox
I totally get that. Personally I like the idea of having no idea what you are going to get. But it does have its downsides.

They German paras are a good unit. Also a nice little challenge if you want to paint their camo pattern.
Thanks for watching!

I do apologise for not knowing every little bit about my country's history. Thanks for the comment.
