GET THE MILWAUKEE it is so worth it it heats u up in 30 seconds and there are 3 settings of heat it starts with hot if u push it again the button turns white that means it’s on medium heat and when u push it again it turns blue which is low heat. I got a heated vest for Christmas and I’m 12 by the way. I have my own mowing and snow removal business.
I have one 200 bucks. Not worth it if you ask me. Two heat pads back of shoulders two on the chest and two hand warmer pockets. Not nearly as good as my Gurbing heated motorcycle jacket liner. That has heated sleeves heated collar and the rest is heated too.
Last Christmas I purchased a set of Milwaukee electric gloves for my wife. Plowing snow her hands never get cold. Easily rechargeable!! I really liked those overhead camera views I didn’t think a drone with a camera could fly in the snow!!!
Step 1. Put Orange 48 Inch Reflective Driveway Markers along driveway/road/parking lot edges before a storm. Step 2. Get an angling 72" FEL mounted blade with Artillian rubber extensions (83") and a poly cutting edge. Fast. Easy.
For decades I did not have a cab on my garden tractor for upstate NY snow removal. No more. I now have a 2021 JD X-738 4WD with hard side Curtis Cab and 47" snowblower. Love it!
Alright Courtney, I gotta call you out on this. A while back you did a review on a SxS with a cab that had heat and ac which when I said do you really need that because it had to be a great added cost, you replied that you are alway working out in the elements and having that added comfort was nice. Yet you have a open tractor to do your snow work. If you had a cab with heat you won’t need a heated seat or a battery jacket. Just saying. Anyways I always enjoy your videos. And alls I can really say is thank God for the blessing of having any kind of tractor. They sure do help with any job!
I don't know Courtney, it's getting that time of year that the fixing the plug might have to move up a little in priority on the fix it list. A heated seat would be a plus to go along with that heated coat. Of course a headed cab would be so nice. Thanks for sharing.
@@GoodWorksTractors I'm in Saskatchewan, even when its -30 I have found that a good pair of sweat pants and then my Carhartt Duck Overalls (non-insulated with knee protectors) and a small towel on the seat to keep me separated keeps me warm for about 30-45 minutes. Just picked up a small seat warmer though for the longer sessions. Need to get some heated gloves or hand warmers though. Wish we had a heated steering wheel upgrades available for the Kubota BX
Great Video Courtney! Very impressive on the lawn in the back yard for the snow mountain for the kids. That setup you have is great with the snow pusher and snowblower!
First to comment I think. Where I live we had two big storms in the last ten days with about two feet of snow combined. I could have used that little tractor. Prince Edward Island Canada 🇨🇦
At my parents house out in the country we always pushed the snow wide and clear into the yard. This helped for when the wind would blow and drift. Pretty much we made a snow fence. Wish I had a snow pusher back then.
Hey Courtney, I have had the quilted pattern Milwaukee heated jacket for two years and absolutely love it. I wear it underneath a high vis jacket for construction traffic details for 8 hours. Have to keep it on low bc it gets too warm. I recently upgraded to the 3amp batteries simply bc of the length of time I am using it but its worth a look.
Courtney, I bought one of those electric coats... It was a Christmas gift and man does it work well. I have the Milwaukee one and I love it. Tons of pockets, not super bulky like a huge puffy coat, and as soon as you turn the coat on you feel warm. You don't have to wait forever like you do with your heated seats in a vehicle. The cool thing is that the m12 adapter that comes with the coat can charge your phone or other USB device too, AND it has heated pockets to warm your hands. Definitely worth the investment. If you don't already have m12 tools, I would invest in another battery if you plan on being outside all day. I debated about the larger m12 battery for mine, but I don't think that would fit too well in the pocket. Haven't tried it though. These come in 3 colors, and are also offered in a sweatshirt, a vest, and the typical coat.
Heated jackets - we have 4 of them! Two Ororo, one Gearwrench (made by Ororo), and a Milwaukee. All are good. One Ororo is the fleece type and is great for low wind days in the spring/fall when you are mixing in some heavier work with tractor driving. The fleece lets the air through and the moisture out so there is less take it off, put it on, action as the work changes. Heat in the upper back and chest area. Low setting works well in the 40 degree range for me. The Ororo wind shell jacket has a zip-on/off hood and the same heating. I find the hood a bother when twisting around to see the back of the tractor but it is very warm and flat stops the wind. My wife loves the thing so I don't get to use it often. The Gearwrench is basically the Ororo without the hood. I was just out filming a Snow Edge review (HalDIY channel) at 20 couple degrees and 20-30 mph winds and I was good on medium heat! Ororo and Gearwrench are all 7.2 volt and you can get a good half day on medium. The Milwaukee M12 is not only gorgeous Milwaukee Red but adds a separate controlled heating circuit in the front pockets for hand warming! No wind gets through and the M12 2Ah provides plenty of good heat. The adapter-charger makes it easy to keep track of the charger and there is a pass-through between the left hand pocket the the battery pocket so if you are sitting a lot you can move the battery without disconnecting it between the pockets for more comfort. And if you need longer heat Milwaukee makes an M18 Power Source adapter so you can use the larger, heavier, bulkier M18 batteries to power the jacket. I figure a Red Lithium 6Ah M18 is equivalent to a 9Ah M12. You could spend a long day on full roast with that kind of power!
I my self don’t have the Milwaukee jacket. But I have friends that have it and use it for deer hunting and other cold weather things. They love them. Thought about getting it for my grandfather but he’s got more jackets and I’m sure he would never use it. Bought him the Milwaukee screw gun and drill and he never uses it. Lol. But the guys I know love the jacket. Keep up the hard work. Love seeing the tractors working. Always fun in the morning before work or before bed. Thanks.
Love how you and Chris keep it real and leave the funny parts in there. Love the snow videos, makes me miss Cleveland, ok maybe not, but the snow yes. 😁
Awesome ! Me and my JD2305 were clearing my driveway (with FEL and bucket), then cleared 2 neighbor's driveways. Great fun. The FEL 'Float' position is GREAT. Very enjoyable vid, Courtney. Thanks, brother.
Most of my family on my father's side is from Alpena,Detroit, and the surrounding areas.......... NOT ME !...... The snow and ice thing,... BAH HUMBUG ! I'm outside working in a Tee-Shirt in January in the mountains here among the Doug fir trees and it is wonderful......... Enjoy the Snow & Ice. 😁 P.S. tell my cousin I miss him (lol). LOVE that Snow plow attachment, might like one for my JD 790 if we ever get a lasting hard snow....... looking at that could you design a Land Grader that would attach to the front and become the snow plow to push with ?
Haha, I'd like to sprinkle some of that in during the winter. I need more sunshine, that's my biggest hangup with winter in Southwest MI. Possibly could design as a grader. I feel like it would take more skill as an operator though, possibly be harder to push forward than pull along with dirt? Not sure.
Finally got about 10 to 12 inches of snow in Ohio. Did 10 driveways in 5 hours. Hydraulic angle 60 plow and finished off with the loader bucket.. Did have fun as well as it is a learning experience.
@@GoodWorksTractors I noticed yours has some some sliding issues turning when your using the snow pusher. I had the same problem with my angle blade in read deep snow. Using my backhoe for rear weight but nothing on the front extra yet. Just getting into the game. Bunch of stuff I need (want) . Love to have a heated cab and front snow blower, back blade tiller. Etc. You get the idea! Thanks.
The heated coats sound great. Some things that I figured out on winter camping with scouts is to layer. Especially get an outer layer that's water and wind resistant and breathable. Goretex is pricey but there are some alternatives that work quite well. I love my fleece lined blue jeans, but they work better in snowing conditions with a Goretex or equivalent product over them.
Very impressed on how well the snow pusher performs. Also very pleased I do not need it here in SC. I got cold just watching you on that open station tractor !!
Hey Courtney..Nice work with the pusher. Does a great job in some pretty tight spots. Nice of the plow to move those piles out for you..Timing is everything...Hahahah! Love the snow mountain! Hey come move next to me..We'll knock out the whole neighborhood with our machines! Doubt you'll have any appetite for moving to taxachussetts. Although you got access to a heated Curtis Cab right up the road. Hahahah. Great video sir. Thanks for sharing!
This video started off looking like my little spot in North Carolina. So came and get your Michigan weather out of my driveway. 🤣 I got about 4 inches of snow followed by the same in sleet with another dusting of snow on top. Now its about three inches of ice. Normally my snow removal plan is me sitting at my dinner table with coffee watching it all melt. Not this time. Its gonna be busting up ice and scraping it off the driveway some how. And do without a cab, seat warmer... I'm not use to this cold weather.
Yuck! Blow it on up this way! If it's gonna be winter, I want it to snow, blow, whiteout, and be cold. I feel like we're always back and forth between a little white and back to brown.
@@GoodWorksTractors Understand. I'm very happy with brown. I know you've seen that movie "Its a Wonderful Life" with Jimmy Stewart. Every time I see that movie, it gives me my fill of snow. 😁
Look for a balaclava with a mouth filter. When I plow snow, i wear one. You breathe in warm air. Only like $20 on amazon. Heater jacket, I found one on Amazon for my fiance. Battery lasts about 6 hours on high. She loves it.
I agree, I bought my wife the milwaukee vest for her birthday and she then told me I should get the jacket because it's cheaper than a cab, other than my face I end up staying far more warm than I even need to be lol. I have the Toughshell jacket with duel zones, I throw a jacket over it to hold the heat in, I stay plenty warm.
You and the 1025R are impressive clearing that snow. Almost, I say almost, made me wish we would get some snow here (coastal NC) ... but that doesn't happen often. Great video!
@@dalcassian56 I did say "almost"! Not about to wish for a winter storm that might knock out power and snarl traffic - our area has no plows to handle snow.
I have a plow on my 1025 and posted a video plowing last year. I too push the snow to the end of the driveway then push it into the ditch. You wouldn’t believe how many TH-cam experts have told me im going to go to jail or get fined for doing that. Love your set up. Wish I’d got the pusher instead of a plow. Im down by st joe/Benton harbor most of out snow melted last week.
Moms on a gravel road and I plow onto the road temporarily when doing end but then I clean the road up better so when plow comes through there is nothing for him to throw back into driveway. I'm driving semi trk now again and mom and a couple nieghbors had mounds that were frozen. Took a little time but with the back blade I scraped almost flat. Mom has a lawn and garden tractor with a blower she takes care of her driveway except when I'm home then we jokingly fight over who gets to play in the snow. Hate the warm cold warm cold weather as it's not fun when fully loaded or empty and I only am fully loaded or empty no partial loads
My wife and I have the dewalt heated jackets and are very pleased with them. Lasts for a long time and I think they have more heated areas (ie: collar). I use mine for deer hunting, ice fishing and snowmobiling also. If you already have Milwaukee tools, it makes sense to buy that brand though so you can use your existing batteries. Great videos! Always like to see the different things you try. I have the original tractor cab on my 1025r that I take off in the summer.
I'd like to see a solution to spreading sand out on the driveways. Something that only spreads say an 8' wide swath. That would make a big difference on ice. Cheers!
I've searched far and wide for a spreader that does it all, works for small tractors, and doesn't break the bank. Unfortunately, I have yet to find it. I'll keep searching though!
@@tractorboy31 A fertilizer spreader using a PTO will cast sand 30' wide or more which would be way off the driveway. If you slow down the RPMs to reduce the distance you can't get anything done. You can take the vanes off of the spreader disk but this is a pain. What is needed is a variable speed spreader that is not linked to the PTO. Most variable speed spreaders explicitly say " not for sand". GPOutdoors removes the vanes and gets ok results but he only uses his spreader for this sanding his driveway and no other task so he can leave it that way. I have seen a spreader with a restriction shield to narrow the path covered but have not seen this used in practice and the materials used are not stainless steel/polly which means copious amounts of rust due to the corrosive nature of fertilizers. To last, anything that is associated with fertilizer or salt should be rust proof, including the frame or you will buy it again. Hope this helps. Cheers!
@@GoodWorksTractors I call this area the "anti-snow belt", we rarely get lake effect but as you say just a few miles away it can be quite dramatic difference.
They may call them sub-compact tractors, but the 1R and 2R Series are powerful and highly versatile in every situation. Two things I would throw my two cents toward... First, I noticed a distinct lack of weights on the 3-point hitch. Given how you often emphasize the importance of extra weights in adverse conditions, this was a surprising thing to see. Second, for God's sake, get some kind of cab!!!! Even a soft cab, anything to keep the wind and snow off you! (That's a personal opinion as I have grown older, the cold seems to seep deeper into the bones each time) Finally, I was surprised to see that the county doesn't get on your case about clearing the snow on the road. There are places where the unions get upset that someone is doing their job. Put a heated cab on that setup and I would gladly clear the entire neighborhood! :)
Great video! Just happened to catch out of the corner of my eye, but it appears the outer two front weights are coming into contact with something several times starting at about 1:32 of the video Also, as always, great music selection. First song is super cool
Heated Jacket wise, I want to like the Milwaukee, but for the price, I've found Ororo to be stellar and the battery pack is slimmer and can charge your phone if needed too!
like the vid, and i really liked your snow pusher, thinking about getting one of those for my 1025r..thanks for showing it in action. btw, i have 2 of the milwaukee hoodies with the batteries, they do me good in keeping my warm in the cold weather...generally i wear my hoodie, and then have one of my snow coats over that, works beater that way, hoodie on low or medium and keeps me toasy, probably better then the jacket heater.....thats my hack......
Awesome videos and looks like you need the garbage can holder on your tractor as it may be more safer in the winter. Nearly had as many falls as Biden going up stairs on Air Force 1
I don’t personally own the battery powered warming jacking but know a couple guys who do and they love them and have had them about a year and quality is still as as when they bought it and they work really good they say. Walmart has one for cheap than the others and at least you could try it and see if it works for you if it works good a Milwaukee or any of the other better brands have to work great right?
I sure hope those bluejeans are lined, otherwise I'm betting your legs were frozen! I was clearing w/ mine Sunday and my jeans were soaked like i'd been in a swimming pool!
This video reminds me of why I moved from Kalamazoo 35 years ago. I'm sure you are having fun plowing. For those who don't enjoy it Kazoo is not the place to be! You can't shovel sunshine...
I'm a touch north of grand rapids. Love the snow. Just skidded some logs out of moms woods with the ol girl (57 JD 520) first couple pulls out I had almost 0 steering as front was in the air a bit and touch a brake and other tire would spin out. I always run chains in winter and I can only think of 1 time the ol girl got stuck and that was front tires got caught in a hidden brush pile under the snow. I had to tow her out of snow last winter but I stalled her and when I went to restart her the starter bendix blew up and needed a rebuilt starter
We got about 6” Sunday night then it turned to rain resulting in 4” of mud like consistency. Couldn’t blow it so I used the bucket on my 1025. Worked well but when I float the bucket it’s very difficult to steer. I noticed that you have front weights. Would weights help the steering issue? I am running the machine with the backhoe on it for rear ballast. Maybe not enough front weight? Looks like your set up works pretty good.
Hey Courtney, I made two observations from this video which means two questions. I'm surprised you had the R4 tires on. So why didn't you use the HDAB tires or the Versa Turf tires that I know you like? Second was the front tires always sliding straight ahead even though you had them turned. So do you think some ballast in the front tires would have helped? Or even some front mounted weight to help out when the plow is down. Or even maybe the HDAB or Versa Turf might of had better traction.
Do you ever try plowing in float? I have a 1023e with a 60" push box. I found on my blacktop driveway it works much better. You can actually steer! LOL
Nice! That snow pusher is awesome! Does it come with the UHMW edges? One word: Cab! LOL Also, wow wow wow does your brother do an absolute great video editing job! God I wish I had 1/1000th of his skillset. Plus the intro...GoT style :-0
I can't believe with all of those "high tech" and pricey attachments, you still have halogen bulbs lol! I would be scared at how far the rear snowblower sticks out behind the tractor. It must make massive swings when you turn...

Not sure.
Nice job and you have really good music playing in your videos!!!
Thank you very much!
Looks like fun. You look like you got more snow then Minnesota all winter
Really? I thought they were getting some decent snows this year?
@@GoodWorksTractors not where I live in Stillwater MN. Not that I'm complaining lol
Me and my Dad have had the Milwaukee heated jackets for 2 years no issues.. being in Canada they are worth every penny
Great video Courtney!. You and Chris do great work and the great drone work. Keep it up. Tim
Nice intro at the beginning of the video! Your work is starting to feel cinematic. 🙂
Awesome video
Thanks for stopping by!
Finally got about 10 to 12 inches of snow in Ohio. Did 10 driveways in 5 hours. Hydraulic angle 60 plow and finished off with the loader bucket.. Did have fun as well as it is a learning experience.
Awesome, I love my seat time!
Thanks.
Yeah, always gotta be working the loader joystick, in and out of float, adjusting pressure too.
@@GoodWorksTractors still a lot of fun. Much better than a scoop shovel!
@@rodbagley1686Ain’t that the truth!
Looks like fun Courtney but that is why I live in Palmetto, Florida!
That setup you have there appears to really work well. But I bet you really wish you had a heated cab on it now.
Thank You
💥 Great footage guys! Looks like some sun was had!
*Keep on tractoring!*
Stay warm over there Ritter!
Curtis cab will keep you warm
Definitely
I want snow to play in.
I got about 4 inches of snow followed by the same in sleet with another dusting of snow on top.
Thanks for the idea! I'll check it out!
Im Jealous! Only got about 2" so far this year. Great camera shots. I love to watch a tractor work the snow.
Me too, not sure why. Just something I enjoy about winter tractor videos.
you are welcome to come and move my ten inches of snow.
You and the 1025R are impressive clearing that snow. Almost, I say almost, made me wish we would get some snow here (coastal NC) ... but that doesn't happen often. Great video!
Haha, well maybe we can send a little your way!
careful what you wish for! :) LOL
@@dalcassian56 I did say "almost"! Not about to wish for a winter storm that might knock out power and snarl traffic - our area has no plows to handle snow.
There's only two items I use the M12 for presently, the jacket and the 3/8 ratchet. Both are excellent. I love Milwaukee tools
Glad to hear it!
Awesome, thanks for your input. Sounds like they are well worth it!
those cowboy boots will get ya
Now that you had a good test how do you like the grooved tires?
Poor little Mavic :( At least yours wasn't 70 feet up in the tree.
@@GoodWorksTractors They are out there, but they are used in commercial so they are commercial prices
What about a pto fertilizer spreader
Cheers!
@@reno4819 he said sand not salt and you don't need to run wide open throttle since not much power is needed
Nice shots man! Looks like the hla pusher did great! Those are thicc chunks of uhmw!
Courtney I think you need a 8RX that would make snow plowing so easy😜😜
Haha, I'd just tell the Road Commission to not bother coming through the neighborhood!
Wow, you got a lot more snow than we did. 3-4" here just west of Cleveland, tho a lot more east.
We're in the lake effect region so that makes a difference. Even just a few miles can make a big difference in the amount.
(That's a personal opinion as I have grown older, the cold seems to seep deeper into the bones each time)
Finally, I was surprised to see that the county doesn't get on your case about clearing the snow on the road. There are places where the unions get upset that someone is doing their job.
Put a heated cab on that setup and I would gladly clear the entire neighborhood! :)
Strong little tractor. What did you end up using for a non stick coating on pusher?
I have Stanley heated gloves I use and they are fantastic. I’ll for sure have to look into the heated jackets.
Ooo, heated gloves. Like the sound of that!
Oh Courtney. You all right there guy ??
Banded HEAT vest… works great while hunting …
No heated sest pad or jacket, i turn on the heater and ckose the door on my 1025r. 🤣🤠 (sorry, i couldn't resist.
I think they work pretty good. I tried the one's that first came out. The newer ones are better.
Great video! Just happened to catch out of the corner of my eye, but it appears the outer two front weights are coming into contact with something several times starting at about 1:32 of the video
Also, as always, great music selection. First song is super cool
Project Farm did a review of several heated jackets
Heated Jacket wise, I want to like the Milwaukee, but for the price, I've found Ororo to be stellar and the battery pack is slimmer and can charge your phone if needed too!
Haven't heard of Ororo, will look them up!
@@GoodWorksTractors Home Depot carries them and runs good deals on them too.
like the vid, and i really liked your snow pusher, thinking about getting one of those for my 1025r..thanks for showing it in action. btw, i have 2 of the milwaukee hoodies with the batteries, they do me good in keeping my warm in the cold weather...generally i wear my hoodie, and then have one of my snow coats over that, works beater that way, hoodie on low or medium and keeps me toasy, probably better then the jacket heater.....thats my hack......
4 of my family members have had the DeWalt heated jackets for 3 years now and they have not had any problems with them.
How does the drone do flying in the snow? Does it suffer any damage?
I wear my gerbing jacket and gloves that I would wear on my Goldwing, 12 volt just plug in and stay hot
Hey Courtney, were you able to make a BobSled Run or Snowman with the big pile of snow for the kids?
Awesome videos and looks like you need the garbage can holder on your tractor as it may be more safer in the winter. Nearly had as many falls as Biden going up stairs on Air Force 1
Haha, cracking me up! Good call on the garage can holders. Figured my driveway was too short for that, but it's the danger level!
Awesome, thanks for chiming in!!
Haha, I hear ya man!
If you watch closely you can see he is struggling for steering traction as well
The best tractor heat retention/generator unit is called a cab with heat. How well does the drone work in the snowfalls?
Looks like the weights are scrubbing a little.
We got a good bit of snow in upstate sc. Nothing like this, it's all totally gone now lol
You bored? Plowing your lawn ?? You will be mowing around it in August ?? 🤣😆👍
I see your drone likes to attack trees too.
Haha, it's a constant battle!

Need some sunglasses
Hey Courtney, I made two observations from this video which means two questions. I'm surprised you had the R4 tires on. So why didn't you use the HDAB tires or the Versa Turf tires that I know you like? Second was the front tires always sliding straight ahead even though you had them turned. So do you think some ballast in the front tires would have helped? Or even some front mounted weight to help out when the plow is down. Or even maybe the HDAB or Versa Turf might of had better traction.
He had the weights on the front. Didn't seem to do much good.
Buy urself a Curtis cab / and the works to make it comfortable
Do you ever try plowing in float? I have a 1023e with a 60" push box. I found on my blacktop driveway it works much better. You can actually steer! LOL
Yeah, I bounced in and out of float throughout the entire video :)
Nice! That snow pusher is awesome! Does it come with the UHMW edges? One word: Cab! LOL Also, wow wow wow does your brother do an absolute great video editing job! God I wish I had 1/1000th of his skillset. Plus the intro...GoT style :-0
I added on the the UHMW, steel or rubber are factory options.
Haha, yep, my brother is da man!
Could a person get a back drag added to the inverted snow blower of this size?
They have the holes, but they don't offer the backdrag in that width. Maybe they are working on it for the future.
We didn't get any snow up here in Columbiaville.
That's a bummer, we had some lake effect
i have 3 Milwaukee heated jackets different assorted I’m a heating contractor works well
What type of drone are you running for the video? I really like the quality. Thanks.
Thanks! Mavic Air 2
I can't believe with all of those "high tech" and pricey attachments, you still have halogen bulbs lol! I would be scared at how far the rear snowblower sticks out behind the tractor. It must make massive swings when you turn...
You should take down the trampoline or the snow will bend the frame
th-cam.com/video/waEC-8GFTP4/w-d-xo.html
Interesting that you don’t have the upgraded seat on that tractor. Or did I see that wrong?
Yes came with this cheap aftermarket seat. I gotta do something about it.
Woaaaaa! I dont see and LED headlights or fender lights!
