    Great footage. It’s probably the best overview I’ve seen since this started. We were very nervous that we would lose our cabin in Smoky Ridge Resort. Btw the bucket under the helicopter is a monsoon bucket.

      WE LOVE OUR Firefighters, Police, EMT'S all around the USA. OUR REAL HEROES!! (We also need to take care of them afterward!) Ask John Stewart. Anyway... why wasn't any of this on the news? I had no idea what happened..I still don't know . I heard it from a lady that there was a hotel on a mountain in Wear Valley and the fire started right behind this hotel on the mountain? They tried to save that place but didn't. And that was when they showed th fire going all around the area and man the winds and all the ambers blowing everywhere! It look like that wind was 20 tho 25 and whipping everything...Wow!!!! Thank God they have it under control now......it was bad but it could have been as bad as it was 4 years ago....THANK GOD FOR SAVING OUR SMOKEY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK.BECAUSE WE LOVE IT....!!! Almost lost our Beautiful gem the mountains, wildlife, beauty of the flowers, tha beautiful trails, the clear waters of the Little Pegion River, the Waterfalls..ect....

    I was not a resident of the area when this happened. I found your videos very informative and quite sobering as to the overall destruction of the area. At the beginning of May I bought land east of where you were filming, but yesterday had the opportunity to drive through that exact area. I'm encourage to see the rebuilding that is underway, and I'm also happy to see the rejuvenation that Mom Nature is managing. I have a log home, and the entirety of good fire prevention weighs heavily on me. My heart hurts for the folks that lost everything, and I'm sure that you had many emotional thoughts as you filmed the content you provide. So, thank you.

      I tried to capture as much helpful info that public information officer was sharing as we would survey areas with the media. Thankfully there was no loss of life during these fires like there unfortunately was in 2016 Gatlinburg fires!

    WOW Ryan. I honestly don't think I heard anything about this fire earlier this year. When I first started watching the video, I thought it was that huge fire from a few years ago that devastated so much up there. I apparently wasn't aware of this fire from this year. I am glad it was put out and only a minimal amount of damage and property loss.

If the wind picks up this cannot be controlled .only rain will stop it.Hope there's a real preacher to pray.This what can happen when tourist are welcomed to town.

    • @gatlinburg-gal
      @gatlinburg-gal 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      we have a lot of leaves! :) I've never seen that in my policies here. But yes, read, they are all different! Wind brings down trees/power lines, power sparks, wind makes fire, fire makes more wind, etc. At least high wind is rare and really our only threat, no earthquakes, hurricanes or tornadoes but flash flooding is also a threat. As our building boom sends more power thru the trees.
