If I understand correctly, she did experience issues and went to many doctors to try and find the cause of these chronic problems but doctors couldn't suggest a reason for them. With her husband always acting the part of the supportive partner, accompanying her to appointments, etc, no-one's suspicion was aroused including her own. How could any normal person suspect such a thing as what it turned out had occurred? Many people have issues with eg chronic inflammation and infections and no cause is ever found. It would have been put down to that general catch-all of 'medically unexplained symptoms'. Women especially are often suspected of somehow bringing on their symptoms themselves, or of worrying unduly, perhaps needing anti-depressants and a pep talk. (Crazy, but true!) Perhaps with the widespread publicity around this case, doctors will be more aware of such covert assaults in future, and women in general might consider the idea a possibility if they have such symptoms..
It took TEN YEARS!! to realize something’s not right? As a female how could you not be aware when your downstairs has been ravaged?🤔🤔🤔🙄🙄
