Wow, I can't believe you found my video. This is such an honor! The Nano is a fantastic product. It's such a compact piece of gear that is perfect for the solo backpacker/camper. Thank you so much for watching, commenting and sharing this video on your Facebook page. 😀
The bush pot makes a great oven. I use it all the time. It's one of my favorite pieces of cook gear. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I really appreciate it! I hope to see you on the next one.
Any sticking on your grill plates. You an anyone else reading this. Put it all the up high in your home oven on broil get it hot pull it our rub it with a napkin an oil stick it back in do that about 10 times baking it on. Than you’ll be basically non stick. Did it to all of mine. There a nice honey or darker hard non greasy coat of them oil coatings. Seems to have taken so well I can soap an water wash it with no issues. It don’t scratch off with cooking utensils or anything like that no funky flavor imparted into food. Best thing I done with it after fighting with it after the first use of oiling it an food still sticking like all get out. Now just about nothing sticks. Maybe a tiny spot here an there but nothing close to before
This is excellent information. You basically seasoned the grill plate in a similar fashion as you would a carbon steel pan. I never thought of doing that. Thanks for posting this info, and thanks for watching!
You can't go wrong with this little stove. It's so compact and easy to backpack with. I have learned how to light it with damp or dry fuel. It's really powerful when you add the accessories. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@yazoobee That's a good question. I have been using mine, but I never asked them if it was allowed. They have fire pits at all the BC sites, but I don't think you are allowed to use them.
Love your "good ole boy" Southern accent. Also, the quality of your presentation is on par with Steve's over at Firebox.com. Very professional. One more thing . . . that video work is spectacular!
Wow, thanks for the compliment! Steve is way ahead of me. He can make some really great video shots and tell a fantastic story with almost no words. I appreciate you watching!
Another good video I just found. I'm late to the party for the Firebox stoves, but I'm really enjoying the G2 5" and the Nano stainless. Because of fire restrictions on some of the public lands I like to visit, I just ordered the Trangia gas butane burner which clips right onto the Nano sticks. With the fire restrictions, they even ban alcohol stoves and require you to have something you can shut off with a switch, like a gas stove. It's pretty stupid, since I can just drop the lid on the alcohol stove to shut it off instantly.
I'm wanting to get the butane burner for my Nano. That is the only accessory I'm missing. I think you could regulate the temperature better. I have a hard time getting a medium heat. Thanks for watching!
You’re getting the hang of that nano. My use has not been a positive one. Hopefully it will be with more practice. Watching you is encouraging I think maybe I need better preparation of the fuel.
I found that at first, I was choking off the oxygen with too much tinder. I like the mini inferno for starting, but that is just a personal preference. The tulip poplar bark and dry shavings worked also, but it was a little more work.
@@JohnMillwoodOutdoors thanks I’ve been stuffing the tinder in with the Swedish log method thinking I needed to fill all the space between the logs. Will try with less Thanks John 🔥
Great video... the Nano is a great little versatile burner. Those biscuits looked very good, indeed! Nice to see the turtles and landscape in your part of the world, too. Cheers from a neighbour to the north! 🇨🇦
I carry the Nano even on day hikes. I love this little stove and use it all the time. It works for me. The biscuits are very tasty and fun to bake. Thanks for commenting and watching my videos.
Love your videos. So informative and helpful. I use a Nano and the 5" Firebox when I can handle the weight. I noticed you use a 3/4 Underquilt. Do you have trouble with the position of the underquilt moving at night and causing CBS and Torso getting Cold? I had that this last weekend. I had my camping partner check the underquilt before I dozed off to sleep. All was good. But in the middle of the night I started to get cold from the bottom up. When my torso started getting cold, I reached out of my Blackbird hammock and pulled the underquilt back over my left should and up. After that, the quilt was like a furnace!
I'm glad you found some value out of this video. If a strong puff of wind blows into the head end, I sometimes get that cold air on my neck and back. I'm like you, I reach out and make an adjustment. I also button down the head doors on my Superfly tarp to prevent the wind from getting in. I like the torso quilt. To keep my feet warm, I put a Therm-a-Rest seat pad in the footbox of my topquilt. Thanks for watching and commenting!
This is the Pathfinder mug that comes with the canteen kit. I bought mine from the Self Reliance Outfitters web site. Here is the link. I also noticed they sell them on Amazon. Thanks for watching! www.selfrelianceoutfitters.com/collections/canteens

Great overviews of the firebox. You're getting a lot of use out of that, and showing the many ways it can be used.
I like that little stove. That was my second trip, and I'm really impressed with its performance. I like the small package and weight.
Love my stainless Nano!
The Nano is fantastic for backpacking. It's not that heavy and is a small package with a big punch. Thanks for watching!
