You should definitely stay at Royal Pacific! It's beautiful and super relaxing, lots of restaurants, lots of room, rooms are new, and you get Unlimited Express! I've stayed there three times, September will be my fourth. I've visited the other resorts to eat and explore while staying at the Royal Pacific and I'm most impressed by it every time over the others. Y'all explored it a couple years ago, now you should stay! Anyway, y'all are awesome!
I agree. I think it is the cheapest of the deluxe hotels, The walk to the parks is pretty easy. We are staying there next month for just one night. They told us we could check in around 8:00am (room of course won't be ready) so you can get your express pass and (as I understand it) you can use it to closing on the next day. If true, this would be 2 days of express for just one night stay! Good job Universal!

Honestly? Royal Pacific seems to be the best deal of them all. It's closer than Portofino, there are boats or the walk to CityWalk which is super short, the air conditioning is the best of any of the hotels, the rooms are a fantastic size, the food options are pretty neat in the place itself, the pool is the least busy of all the ones on the resort, in my experience, the hotel is on of two (I think) to give the unlimited Fast Track and early access to Harry Potter worlds (the other being Hard Rock), and it's just a generally nice atmosphere where it's ALWAYS very quiet and relaxing. Portofino and Cabana Bay can get kind of loud and busy, and Hard Rock feels cramped.
Portofino also give free express passes and I believe all of the hotels have early access to Harry Potter. I'll have to double check on that last part though.
I stayed at Royal Pacific and it is by far my least favorite of the three pools at the deluxe resorts. It's just way too hot and it was also just as crowded as the others. It seemed much more tailored for very young kids. I actually ended up walking over to Hard Rock pool.

HARD ROCK that's the only place we stay and it's amazing not only is the walk short the pool is amazing super fun all the rock 'n' roll memorabilia is awesome and the rooms are very cool as well you can't even measure yourself to the height of other past rock 'n' roll/pop stars

I stayed at the Royal Pacific last year and it was great. The walk to the parks was not bad at all, especially considering you have to walk around all day anyway, but you can also take the water taxi (good for after a long day at the parks). It was moderately priced and the theming was awesome. You also receive express tickets which REALLY come in handy for short wait times and you can only receive this for no extra charge if you stay at this hotel or the ones higher in price. All in all, I think it's the best value for hotels at Universal and highly recommend it.

We stayed at Cabana Bay for our first Universal visit in June and we loved it. They upgraded us to a family suite because it was my 40th birthday. I have always been a ride or die Disney fan...I mean, you just can't beat their theming...but Cabana Bay really, really impressed me. I'd stay there even if we weren't going to Universal. I love you guys! I'm so glad I found your channel!!
I stayed at the hard rock about a year ago and absolutely loved it! The rooms were very spacious and clean and I loved all of the decor with rock memorabilia. My brother loves guitar so it was cool for him to be able to rent one from the hotel and play it while we were on vacation. In addition the short scenic walk to the parks was a relaxing way to start our morning before a busy day, and it let us go to our rooms throughout the day if need be and rest for a little, then return to the parks/city walk at night with no problem!
I stayed at portifino bay, and it was awesome! Large rooms, giant areas to sit and eat, or Jerusalem relax, awesome boat ride to the park, and the walk is only 5 minutes!

We originally started watching your videos to get some information on an upcoming horror nights trip last year, when after a long search on TH-cam for information we came across your videos. They were absolutely the best by far when it comes to attention to detail, having the most steady camera hand , being great at finding the balance between being informative yet not overbearing and just being downright cool ass hosts who are a lot of fun to watch so now we're hooked, we watch your videos now just for fun.... okay enough schmoozing , anyway i would 100% recommend staying at Royal Pacific because between getting a free fast pass for every day you stay for all guests , being a short boat ride away from the parks, the fact that it is a beautiful generally quiet hotel with a nice pool that does really fun movies at night (that you can watch in the pool! ) its really unsurpassed in quality at universal . Also the food at the bar by the pool is delicious and inexpensive drinks are fairly priced too and the savings in park to park fast pass almost pays for the hotel itself. Ok guy keep up the good work sorry for such a long comment just the first time responding to a video question :)
Cabana bay because if you are coming from a long day at universal in the heat you have some time to cool of in the bus so by the time you get to the hotel you are not as hot
I've stayed at all three and Hardrock is definitely my favorite. It's the most convenient in terms of the park and all of the workers there that I have encountered are amazing!

Not only is it something most of us will probably not be able to afford (so it would be cool to see what it's like), but it would be a real treat for you guys. We just got back from our trip, staying Rock Royalty at the Hard Rock. It was amazing. The pool was super fun and big, the lobby area was pretty cool and it had such a cool atmosphere. Being able to walk or take the boat was super convenient and we had some awesome boat captains. For us, going in summer, one big draw of Hard Rock was the availability of express, which was way better than fastness at Disney and great for making sure we got everything we wanted to done. Also, we're a family of huge music fans and we play guitar, so the guitar rental service made the trip super fun. We've also stayed at Portofino twice, which is great too, but having stayed at Hard Rock I would definitely choose HR again.

Tim! I personally love the Hard Rock Hotel because it's just so amazing. I know it gets REAL EXPENSIVE during this time of the year and if it becomes burdensome, just go for Royal Pacific. They just had all the rooms refurbished, the staff is super nice, and they have a pool and great restaurants!
Tim, I stayed with my grown-up son at Cabana Bay in May 2016. It's only a 6-minute shuttle bus ride to the parks, so that's no biggie, and this year they added a special entrance to Volcano Bay right outside the resort. I can't wait to stay at the tower rooms that overlook the volcano. The food court was fine, there's a huge arcade, and there's bowling and a fantastic fitness room for those so inclined. Also the decor is so much fun with a '60s style, they park early '60s classic cars out front, and the giant screens in the eating area show many fun ads and TV show clips from the '60s, as well. If you're on a budget, this is way better than you'll get at most destinations.
Definitely cabana bay!!! Stayed there 2 years ago and absolutely loved it! There is a free shuttle that takes you from the hotel to the parks so it isn't really much of an inconvenience! Ps I love you guys so much!!
My mom and i stayed at cabana bay and we absolutely loved it. Really cute theming and it had everything we really needed for a hotel. Also the lazy river was super awesome to float around in.
I would stay at Portifino bay, before I moved here to Florida, I always stayed there and loved it. They have an amazing pool with great views. And it's cheaper than hard rock. If you wanted to visit the hard rock pools your still allowed too. Plus the ride to the park isn't that long and it's fun on the boat. Hope that helped, Your #1 fan
We are staying at Hard Rock in September, but it was the middle of the premiere hotels for us. We stayed at Portofino last year and it was beautiful and a great escape to the parks. I'd stay there again for sure but wanted to see what Hard Rock was like. Have you considered Royal Pacific? I love having the water taxis and going through the hotel security too much to stay at Cabana Bay, even though I could technically go over to Sapphire Falls to get into the park.

I remember watching one of your HHN videos and I was hooked. Nothing has changed in the last couple of years. XD I would love to stay at Hard Rock hotel but I have stayed a Portofino bay hotel and its soooo nice.
Love watching y'all's video's, getting me even more excited for my upcoming trip. I stayed at Hard Rock when my kids were little in 2002 and vowed to return someday with no kids at tow and do the HHN, so making that happen and returning to Hard Rock Hotel in October 15-19, just me and my dude. Yay! So have no other hotel to compare to, but I know I love the Hard Rock. Wondering if we should do the HHN on the Sunday or the Wednesday that we will be there, which is least crowded?
Mom and I stayed at Portofino Bay and absolutely LOVED it. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat. But, we also loved Italy when we got to visit, so there's the sentimental factor as well
I heavily recommend Hard Rock for anyone staying only a couple nights. However, if you are having an extended stay, Portofino is superior. I would recommend staying at any of the 3 older hotels (Hard Rock, Portofino, Royal Pacific) over Cabana Bay or Sapphire Falls due to the free Unlimited Express Pass
Stayed at Cabana Bay and loved it! Especially in a room with volcano view. And also, the proximity to Volcano Bay makes it perfect for me.... I didn't mind to take the bus for IOS and USO.

Heading to Orlando (Mostly a Disney vacation) in October! Prime time for Halloween Horror Nights - I've never been! I haven't been to Universal in five years but I do go to Disney every year :-) Thanks for the quick updates with this vlog. We might have to add to our plans and head to US for a day!
My wife and I have only stayed at the Royal Pacific Hotel, but we really enjoy it. Getting the early admittance to Harry Potter and Fast Passes for the duration of our stay is also a great bonus.
I personally stay at Portofino Bay because of the Italian ambiance that makes you feel like you are in Italy. Plus they do live show from the balcony. I don't think you get any show staying at the others. Will be at Universal this Saturday, hope to see you guys there!

Yes--all hotels give early access to HP! They also opened Minions early when we were heading to HP, so we were able to quickly ride that last summer

Cabana Bay is great! I like the mid-20th Century aesthetic. The buses only took a few minutes and it was a lot of fun.
Hard Rock was awesome! The ambience and proximity was worth it, and with the AP discount it wasn't too expensive.

I stayed at Royal Pacific and it was amazing! It has an island vibe and great pool! The room size was descent and very cozy. A definite must do!

Tim! I personally love the Hard Rock Hotel because it's just so amazing. I know it gets REAL EXPENSIVE during this time of the year and if it becomes burdensome, just go for Royal Pacific. They just had all the rooms refurbished, the staff is super nice, and they have a pool and great restaurants!

Tim, I stayed with my grown-up son at Cabana Bay in May 2016. It's only a 6-minute shuttle bus ride to the parks, so that's no biggie, and this year they added a special entrance to Volcano Bay right outside the resort. I can't wait to stay at the tower rooms that overlook the volcano. The food court was fine, there's a huge arcade, and there's bowling and a fantastic fitness room for those so inclined. Also the decor is so much fun with a '60s style, they park early '60s classic cars out front, and the giant screens in the eating area show many fun ads and TV show clips from the '60s, as well. If you're on a budget, this is way better than you'll get at most destinations.

Definitely cabana bay!!! Stayed there 2 years ago and absolutely loved it! There is a free shuttle that takes you from the hotel to the parks so it isn't really much of an inconvenience! Ps I love you guys so much!!
My mom and i stayed at cabana bay and we absolutely loved it. Really cute theming and it had everything we really needed for a hotel. Also the lazy river was super awesome to float around in.
I would stay at Portifino bay, before I moved here to Florida, I always stayed there and loved it. They have an amazing pool with great views. And it's cheaper than hard rock. If you wanted to visit the hard rock pools your still allowed too. Plus the ride to the park isn't that long and it's fun on the boat. Hope that helped,

We are staying at Hard Rock in September, but it was the middle of the premiere hotels for us. We stayed at Portofino last year and it was beautiful and a great escape to the parks. I'd stay there again for sure but wanted to see what Hard Rock was like. Have you considered Royal Pacific? I love having the water taxis and going through the hotel security too much to stay at Cabana Bay, even though I could technically go over to Sapphire Falls to get into the park.
Cabana Bay! The rooms were nice, the pool is great, the food was good, and it's right next to Volcano Bay! We had a view of the volcano from our room!

I remember watching one of your HHN videos and I was hooked. Nothing has changed in the last couple of years. XD I would love to stay at Hard Rock hotel but I have stayed a Portofino bay hotel and its soooo nice.

Love watching y'all's video's, getting me even more excited for my upcoming trip. I stayed at Hard Rock when my kids were little in 2002 and vowed to return someday with no kids at tow and do the HHN, so making that happen and returning to Hard Rock Hotel in October 15-19, just me and my dude. Yay! So have no other hotel to compare to, but I know I love the Hard Rock. Wondering if we should do the HHN on the Sunday or the Wednesday that we will be there, which is least crowded?
Mom and I stayed at Portofino Bay and absolutely LOVED it. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat. But, we also loved Italy when we got to visit, so there's the sentimental factor as well

I love all the rooms but I think Royal Pacific is the one I usually tend to go back too. Can't believe it's already time for Horror Nights again O=
I heavily recommend Hard Rock for anyone staying only a couple nights. However, if you are having an extended stay, Portofino is superior. I would recommend staying at any of the 3 older hotels (Hard Rock, Portofino, Royal Pacific) over Cabana Bay or Sapphire Falls due to the free Unlimited Express Pass
Stayed at Cabana Bay and loved it! Especially in a room with volcano view. And also, the proximity to Volcano Bay makes it perfect for me.... I didn't mind to take the bus for IOS and USO.
HARD ROCK HOTEL HANDS DOWN! Parents took my brothers and I there when it first opened back in like 99 and we haven't gone anywhere else since! Cannot wait to get back there

I would stay at the bay hotel. I have stayed there multiple times and had a great time. The walk may be longer but its worth it. Thanks for another great video!
I just went to Universal last Wednesday and it was so awesome. I wish you and Jenn went so I could have met you guys but I go to Universal all the time so I know that I'll meet you guys some other time. Keep up the great work

Heading to Orlando (Mostly a Disney vacation) in October! Prime time for Halloween Horror Nights - I've never been! I haven't been to Universal in five years but I do go to Disney every year :-) Thanks for the quick updates with this vlog. We might have to add to our plans and head to US for a day!
My wife and I have only stayed at the Royal Pacific Hotel, but we really enjoy it. Getting the early admittance to Harry Potter and Fast Passes for the duration of our stay is also a great bonus.
I personally stay at Portofino Bay because of the Italian ambiance that makes you feel like you are in Italy. Plus they do live show from the balcony. I don't think you get any show staying at the others. Will be at Universal this Saturday, hope to see you guys there!
