Tonogayato Gardens - Autumn Leaves Viewing (November - Tokyo in 12 months)

The most beautiful garden of Japanese maples in Tokyo is Tonogayato Gardens. In the autumn, the Japanese maple trees are bathed in vibrant red colors.
Comprising terrain above and below the cliff, and a pond that uses spring water from the bottom of the cliff, the original topography of the site has been transformed into a wonderful stroll-style garden with forest and pond.
Above the cliff is a spacious garden with a large lawn and dotted Japanese maple trees, while below the cliff the maple grove on the slope of the cliff connects to the Japanese maples surrounding the pond.
It has been designated a National Place of Scenic Beauty as a representative example of the villa gardens built in Tama district from the 1910s to the 1930s.
