Bishop Sheard is showing what happens when a man or woman of God does not FIRSTLY enquire of the Holy Spirit in their words and decision making, BEFORE they act, say something or move. All this bouncing back and forth with his decisions does NOT the Holy Spirit do. Once the Holy Spirit says something, He does not then withdraw it, He may change His course but if and when He does, that course will ALWAYS STILL BE IN LINE WITH THE WORD OF GOD. Bishop Heard was just pushing back on his own remarks because he felt convicted that he did NOT come out and speak against BEYONCE'S version of the song CHURCH GIRL and rebuke it when Dorinda Clark came out and told the Church to leave Beyonce alone and none of her sisters, including Karen came forth and rebuked Beyonce for degrading and desecrating that song. You cannot be a leader that allows COMPROMISE in the least concerning the whole council of the Word of God. God has had enough of the least COMPROMISE among those who call themselves leaders in the Christian faith. As leaders, let's get some back bone against the world and stop COMPROMISING the Word in the least because we are more interested in gaining from the world and not offending the world than we are gaining, honoring and STANDARD UNCONDITIONALLY FOR GOD. You can know Scripture much better than most pastors. An old statistic from about 20 years ago noted that about 82%of pastors had never read the entire Bible. Only 9% of "christians" have read the Bible in its entirety at least once. Few "believers " bother to read, reread and study the Bible. I encourage you to obey Jesus and "continue in the Word, know the truth, and be saved Out of slavery to sin ". John 8:31-36. If you do this, you can be one of Jesus' " few". See Matthew 7:13-27, and 20:16.

Sometimes stronger Christians forget that they are advising saints with weaker consciences. That is Allister only mistake. Strong believers are secure enough in their faith to not be the least bit phased by going to a gay wedding. They can make themselves available and accessible to every kind of human for the sake of the gospel. And they can do it without offending God, because God was at the wedding as well. He, like the strong Christian, is not their in approval or affirmation of the ceremony. But God is standing by to make it clear that He will be there for humanity whenever we call out to Him for deliverance. No door . No mountain. No ceremony can bar Him out. And His faithful, stronger saints stand as proof of the power of His love. The weaker Saint cannot receive this. Thus Allister would have done better to keep that to himself.

Corey, I really like the point that you've been making about preachers who seemingly, for the most part, are biblical, but then they come out of the woodwork embracing outrageous ideas or people (secular music in church, transgender weddings, agreeance with false preachers/prophets, etc). In all honesty, those types of preachers definitely are more dangerous than the obvious false ones; It can cause confusion throughout the group that follows them, and, as Paul said, " For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints." I wonder why preachers who are precieved to be biblical seemingly lack decernment; Thats a question that I've been struggling to find answers to for months.

But why are we worried about what the secular world will think? Shouldn’t we be worried about what God thinks? His Word says that because people have sinful desires and exchange truth for lies, He gave them over to shameful lusts. Yet we think we should condone their behavior by attending their “wedding”…and, give them a gift!? Do we want to please God or man? We can certainly love them and not condone their behavior by attending an ungodly ceremony. I’m so sad, Pastor Begg.

One of the many reunions I go to, the DJ was in there playing some music that referred to a man creeping on his wife. Well this song was being played in front of a preacher, several deacons, and a whole bunch of married folks. Allister Begg is a wise pastor, more inclined to love the sinner than to set him aside. I do not view his approach as a compromise at all. There are weaker and stronger believers. The one cannot go to a gay wedding without their conscience badgering them. That person therefore is right to not attend. The other believer recognizes the ceremony as sinful. But is strong enough to endure the nonsense in order to make Christ's larger point. That person can go or not go. Their conscience is fine either way. This is purely a matter of conscience. And Smart Christian, you don't get to dictate another man's conscience. Unless Allister outright states that sexual immorality is good, you have no biblical grounds to raise a red flag against him. As you take it upon yourself to call kingdom balls and strikes, you be careful that you not be found as a judge over God's good shepherds who are strategically going about the business of sharing God's love as best they can. I just listened to the statement by Alister and I am so shocked. I been a member there for over 15 years even though I have moved to another county, I watch online every Sunday, just not there in person. I have always found the doctrine to be sound and the work they do is amazing in the community and abroad. Even before I had a better understanding of the word, I took a stand regarding my sisters wedding and received backlash, but I had to stand my ground and now that I have studied more and understand more, I have no regrets that what I did was right, because I will be held accountable for not doing what was right. That is a think line. You can love the person, but hate the sin, and let them know, I will not be attending the event and state your reason, either they will understand or they won't. It is too late in the game to be side stepping. I have missed a lot of family events because they did not line up with the word of God. If you are a true Christian and being lead by the Spirit, it will convict you to right and wrong. One more thing before any of you go off on me for attending services online, I have not found a church where I live that teaches sound and detail doctrine that I am use to. I really miss the followship and work.

Pastors are human beings, and they make mistakes. Pastors need to be pastored as well. When they go astray, I hope they have someone they trust to bring them back to the narrow path. Alister Begg's comments was a lapse in judgement. I've listened to him before, and I know he has sound doctrine. One must look at a Pastor's total work before you call him a wolf.

You can know Scripture much better than most pastors. An old statistic from about 20 years ago noted that about 82%of pastors had never read the entire Bible.
Only 9% of "christians" have read the Bible in its entirety at least once.
Few "believers " bother to read, reread and study the Bible.

Sometimes stronger Christians forget that they are advising saints with weaker consciences. That is Allister only mistake.
Strong believers are secure enough in their faith to not be the least bit phased by going to a gay wedding.
They can make themselves available and accessible to every kind of human for the sake of the gospel. And they can do it without offending God, because God was at the wedding as well. He, like the strong Christian, is not their in approval or affirmation of the ceremony. But God is standing by to make it clear that He will be there for humanity whenever we call out to Him for deliverance.
No door . No mountain. No ceremony can bar Him out. And His faithful, stronger saints stand as proof of the power of His love.

I personally believe that this response is excellent. There is a difference between what the mature and immature saints can handle. Corey, I really like the point that you've been making about preachers who seemingly, for the most part, are biblical, but then they come out of the woodwork embracing outrageous ideas or people (secular music in church, transgender weddings, agreeance with false preachers/prophets, etc). In all honesty, those types of preachers definitely are more dangerous than the obvious false ones; It can cause confusion throughout the group that follows them, and, as Paul said, " For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints." I wonder why preachers who are precieved to be biblical seemingly lack decernment; Thats a question that I've been struggling to find answers to for months.

But why are we worried about what the secular world will think? Shouldn’t we be worried about what God thinks? His Word says that because people have sinful desires and exchange truth for lies, He gave them over to shameful lusts. Yet we think we should condone their behavior by attending their “wedding”…and, give them a gift!? Do we want to please God or man? We can certainly love them and not condone their behavior by attending an ungodly ceremony. I’m so sad, Pastor Begg.

One of the many reunions I go to, the DJ was in there playing some music that referred to a man creeping on his wife. Well this song was being played in front of a preacher, several deacons, and a whole bunch of married folks. Needless to say, after some “encouragement”, he cut the song off and chose something more people friendly. And for the triggered it is ok to dance and have a good time. All things done in moderation of course.

Allister Begg is a wise pastor, more inclined to love the sinner than to set him aside. I do not view his approach as a compromise at all.
There are weaker and stronger believers. The one cannot go to a gay wedding without their conscience badgering them. That person therefore is right to not attend.
The other believer recognizes the ceremony as sinful. But is strong enough to endure the nonsense in order to make Christ's larger point. That person can go or not go. Their conscience is fine either way.
This is purely a matter of conscience. And Smart Christian, you don't get to dictate another man's conscience.
Unless Allister outright states that sexual immorality is good, you have no biblical grounds to raise a red flag against him.

I just listened to the statement by Alister and I am so shocked. I been a member there for over 15 years even though I have moved to another county, I watch online every Sunday, just not there in person. I have always found the doctrine to be sound and the work they do is amazing in the community and abroad. Even before I had a better understanding of the word, I took a stand regarding my sisters wedding and received backlash, but I had to stand my ground and now that I have studied more and understand more, I have no regrets that what I did was right, because I will be held accountable for not doing what was right. That is a think line. You can love the person, but hate the sin, and let them know, I will not be attending the event and state your reason, either they will understand or they won't. It is too late in the game to be side stepping. I have missed a lot of family events because they did not line up with the word of God. If you are a true Christian and being lead by the Spirit, it will convict you to right and wrong. One more thing before any of you go off on me for attending services online, I have not found a church where I live that teaches sound and detail doctrine that I am use to. I really miss the followship and work.

Pastors are human beings, and they make mistakes. Pastors need to be pastored as well. When they go astray, I hope they have someone they trust to bring them back to the narrow path. Alister Begg's comments was a lapse in judgement. I've listened to him before, and I know he has sound doctrine. One must look at a Pastor's total work before you call him a wolf.
Until he corrects that error in doctrine, openly then he is who he is. We are too far in the timeline of end times to be skipping and ignoring egregious statements. Yes we give grace but we must stand on God's word 🙏🏾!
