I think Professor that what we have found is not the power, rather it is the average energy. This makes more sense to me. The power can be readily calculated by multiplying the average energy by the symbols rate.
Thanks Abdelrahman for bringing this point. It would be energy if we multiple by the time duration. Remember energy is is the area under the square of the curve. Now A^2*T becomes the energy and then multiple by the rate to get the power A^2*T*R which is A^2*T*1/T=A^2 . Fixing the time duration or rate make the power and energy directly related. All the best.

For 16-Ary we have 85A^2 where A is the base voltage
One can simply come up with this 2A(1+9+25+...+ (M-1)^2)/M for any M
