Love your extremely realistic style! It's been ages since I travel by bus in Ecuador, got inspired by your adventure, will definitely do it again! By the way, wonderful mountain landscapes from the bus window!

Hey, great video and good timing as I will be in Ecuador in January and plan to ride buses around. I'll be getting out of the Minneapolis winter. I'm curious how you found yourself there. Looking forward to more videos

What a great video Jason, it was awesome seeing the whole experience from start to finish and I think it would be very valuable to anyone looking for a perspective of taking a trip by bus around the country.
Just some of my personal thoughts:
•I had never heard the expression “cheaper than chips” and it’s so good 😂
•I feel for you on the bus ride situation and needing the bathroom. I hate when it’s locked, it’s like “dude, I have to go almost every hour. HELP!”
•I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed everyone gets cold very easily. I swear where I’m at people feel a gentle breeze and it’s cold, but maybe that’s just me since I feel I’m always warmer than most.
•I’m glad nothing happened to you on the buses. It’s never a guaranteed thing but it’s so hit or miss that sometimes it’s better to avoid danger by using a private driver or just not bringing anything of value. Like there was a person who had gotten robbed on a bus and mentioned it at least 3 times if not more in a Facebook group and even called out the buses saying they were in cahoots with the criminals, and that might be the case who knows but even then it’s not gonna happen all the time. Realistically even criminals know they can’t do it all the time because if it becomes predictable then the police, incompetent as they may be most of the time, will have to do something about it.
•When I saw that the video included Salinas, I was hoping to see Steve and Lashon in the video and I’m glad I did I just wish you guys would’ve collabed. That would’ve been awesome!
I could probably go on but then it might just be ranty lol. I was gonna ask though if I could share the video in my community tab? I think more people should definitely check it out. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the new video tour planning. I laughed when you mentioned it because I have wanted to talk about it but have never been sure of how to approach the topic 😂😂😂

G'day Ace, thanks for watching mate, and thanks for your insights and thoughts. I appreciate it. Yeah man, for sure you can share it. Thanks! Haha, as for the upcoming vide on public urination, I've recorded it, and I'm now editing, and re-editing...it's a delicate topic :) Keep you eyes peeled, I'll post it soon. Thanks for all you do. Cheers!

Love your videos and information...Joke: There was an Englishman, an Irishman, and an Australian ordering a beer in the bar. The Englishman found a fly in his beer and was utterly disgusted and left the bar without touching his beer. The Irishman found a fly in his beer and he plucked it out with a spoon and drank the beer right down........The Australian gently picked up the fly by its wings, held the fly over his beer and shouted to the fly, Spit it out, Spit it out.......

Cool video! Definitely unlucky on the AirBnBs so I wondered whether a hotel might be better for such short stays. Also, I enjoy my beers as well and I think we're all old enough to have as many as we want. Cheers 🍻

Don't beat yourself up about trilling. I've been in Ecuador a few months longer than you. I practice Spanish everyday and I can't say "R" worth a darn. Yours is far better, I can't do it at all. I just sorta growl the double "rr" sound. .

took bus for first time from Cota to Ibarra and back. Both times the bus assistant says something after we pay & then gives change back. Especially heading back to Cota. Everyone got there change and he moved on. But when he got to us he kept trying to asking something we didnt understand and then he gave our change and moved on after he confirmed we were going to Cota. I dunno

You drank a little too much beer before that busride with the locked bathroom door? How do you get prepared for a sweltering bus? Ride on top? Say, I haven't seen your girlfriend/cats in a while. I know it's none of my business but people with boring lives want to know... That's quite a fishing fleet there in Salinas. Yes, LivingLovingAbroad is one of my favorite channels too. Well, that was an interesting trip. Thanks for taking us along.

@@Alvey_en_Ecuador For what it's worth, my first wife and I had this "life plan." We both loved this certain country in Europe that we had cultural ties to and visited every vacation we had. So we made a plan to save up a sum of money we thought we would need to move there. To our surprise, the money came together really fast (this was the 1990s). We sold everything and made the move. European life was everything I had dreamed of. We traveled everywhere. I got English teaching jobs. I really liked the area and the people where we settled. Since Americans were rare there, we were treated really nice too. BUT... after about a year, my wife got antsy and wanted to restart her career in a different part of the country. I said okay,.Thus began a period of me being househusband. My cooking, cleaning, and shopping didn't bother me, but they bothered my wife who felt I should also be putting my nose to the career grindstone like she was. To cut to the end of the story, we got divorced. I guess sometimes when you think you are on the same page with someone, one or the other can still change their mind.

You forgot to mention the awful movies. Once in the Loja-Cuenca route we had to suffer through a movie about a sadistic murderer of pretty women. Blood curdling screaming through the Andes.

Yes! You're so right! Ugh. I've suffered through some terrible movies on those busses. I can't believe the choices they make. That one you mentioned sounds awful!!
