  • The Yeti Roadie 24 is the smallest hard cooler in the range just over 22 Litres the Australian Yeti site said it was 29.5 litres close to the Tundra 45 so I started doing a comparison between the two. A better comparison would be the Tundra 35 that I don't have but they have very similar features, I then put the roadie to a harsh ice retention test in Temperatures over 50 degrees Celsius it held out for five days

I bought the Roadie 24 one day before Thanksgiving, I also bought the 4 pound yeti ice 4 pound, I put the yeti ice pack on the bottom the next morning, filled the yeti with a case of beer, filled the cooler with ice on top, I didn’t have to add ice for 5 days, so yes, Yeti is a top notch cooler, of course the ice melted, there was water, but everything was still ice cold

I have this exact cooler. It is solid, no doubt. It can be heavy when full and the handle is ok. Love the latches, it is very family friendly as opposed to the occasional tough latches on roto coolers. The roadie 24 also makes an excellent seat

Nice. The lack of a drain plug is a turn off though so I’m looking at the Tundra 35 instead for this size range. These two would make good family day trip or road trip coolers.

I can see why they didn't put a drain in as people would forget to tighten it and end up with wet carpets in the car you can use a bit of pipe to drain it, that's what I did with my old Pelican 20 quart elite cooler. With the Tundra you get a drain and cutouts that can be locked I made a locking bracket for my 45 if you look at my video list regards Mike

I was watching the weather in North America last night you probably don't need a cooler at the moment
