The Lady with a Dog. A Short Story By Anton Chekhov

In Anton Chekhov's "The Lady with the Dog," Dmitri Gurov, a middle-aged, disillusioned man, meets Anna Sergeyevna, a young, married woman, while on vacation in Yalta. Despite both being married, they are drawn to each other and begin a passionate affair that continues in secret upon their return to Moscow. Gurov, who has had many fleeting affairs in the past, finds himself genuinely in love for the first time, profoundly changing his views on life. Anna, equally in love and tormented by guilt, struggles with the constraints of society and the impossibility of their situation. Won't reveal the ending here.

Wish I'd not listened to this, but I allowed the picture to draw me in.
Are Chekhov's stories all like this?
Lust is always being mistaken for love and destroys innocence.
People do not harness themselves, and dwell too much in feelings ... Allowing thoughts ... The mind being the playground of d'evil.
Only by putting the conscience to death, which originates with rebellion against conscience, can the characters in the story have a semblance of peace ... And they will NEVER be truly happy.

I was interested in this story coming from a man’s perspective ❤ playing the game satisfies his manly desires until faith catches him at his own game love is strange ❤I will listen again and think about her side and as for the dog an innocent bystander 🐕
