    I happened on this channel only a week ago, and already it's one of my favourites. I didn't know I needed dark fiction in my life and now I can't do without it.
    Fantastic narration.
    Fantastic stories.
    Thank you.

      @@blu_maboo enjoy! The Silver Key stories continue Randolph Carter's story although I'd save them for later they aren't Lovecraft's best.
      If you want to read the Cthulhu mythos stories that inform Black Kiss, Dagon is an appetizer and The Shadow Over Innsmouth is one of my favorites.
      The Call of Cthulhu is related, too, and a banger :)

    The story is very reminiscent of "The Thing On The Doorstep", which came out earlier that same year. But I like that this story actually has the protagonist be the one trapped inside the body of a Deep One. It makes it much more viscerally horrifying.

I almost wonder if the system just automatically assigns a certain number of down-votes to a video after its first couple of up-votes. Like some kind of weird balancing system. It seems the only ones who will ever know are the higher-ups at TH-cam and Warren.

    14:00 - It's a pity that even the old time writers often got trapped into the familiar narratives and plot devices that screenwriters today use in horror movies; the chief grievance being - namely - poor judgement and bad decisions on the part of the protagonists. 😅

    • @ezrablock3218
      @ezrablock3218 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not necessarily a plot device. Scary stories are designed to be morality plays chiefly, so having characters make mistakes is often important to the warning of the work. With that said, stories where the character's don't make any major mistakes but still get murdered or traumatized are usually scarier.
