A late summer Campervan adventures in the French Alps

Join us as we move on in our early retirement alpine adventure to Les Gets in the French Alps, recent home to the mountain biking world championships. We discover the joys of French Aires, explore the beautiful mountains surrounding the town and treat ourselves to a lift pass to get us to even higher up the peaks. Of course we will get lost...that is what we do.
We are Richard and Jackie and we live in the UK. We have chosen to early retire from teaching during the summer of 2022 at the age of 51. We are currently on a 3 week trip to the Alps, with no plans just our desire to find the hidden wild places.
You will soon realise that we are complete TH-cam beginners with all the challenges of creating and publishing videos ahead of us, not to mention uploading when on the road.

Ah thank you 😊 how exciting! We have loved the freedom our van has given us. It’s the short impromptu trips that we do if the weather is great that we value as much as the longer planned trips! Where have you got planned for your first few nights? Ironically ours was at the old hill inn near Ingleborough which is now only a couple of miles down the road from where we live!! (Station inn is much better for a pub stop over!)
