I think her invention was on par with Guizhong's but as Zhongli/Morax was a warrior god during wartime, he obviously gravitated towards the war machine. It seems like, despite the fact she held herself aloof from humans, most of her inventions look like they were made to aid human life and living!
It has less to do with Zhongli being a warrior God and more to do with him being impartial, afterall he was also the God of commerce, who converted to war after the Archon war happened, as well so I am more inclined to believe that should he had any bias, it would have been towards an invention that produced value. Though her invention must benefit humans, Xianyun stated herself, in terms of complexity and optimization, Guizhong was always the superior talent.
