Paul I'd recommend Built Hamber Surfex HD cleaner. its safe on all surfaces and is the best APC I've ever come across. It's highly dilutable so very cost effective.
That sponge squeaking takes me back and the old chamois! Way before any of us used lambswool mits and two bucket methods. Still cringed thinking about all the scratches that sponge and chamois will have caused, but nothing that a full detail won’t sort out! Stunning car😎
All the detailers among up squirming at the TFR being used, the sponges, multiple direction changes and chamoixs' to dry it afterwards haha! Great video.
Great video today really enjoyable to watch and you can feel the love for the old 500. It’s amazing that something like this has been left for 25 years Parked up. It came up surprisingly well for a first wash look forward to next updates on this one and hope the owner enjoys getting it back in the road such a special car having bought it new. It’s certainly landed at the right place to recommission it for road use again. I still miss my moonstone 3 door more for how it looked and felt special to get in for a drive - always thought my Sapphire 4x4 was so much better to drive day to day ( both ad over 300 bhp the 3 door was a hard work in the cold/wet).
Great Video Adam, I never get tired of seeing you and Paul talking Cossie. Amazing story and find, she's a beauty can't wait to see the next video. Cheers
80’s car with 80’s wash techniques Great stuff lads Before all the keyboard detailers get on board….as said will have a proper paint correction so chill boys chill
I was really enjoying watching you guys cleaning the 500 until I saw you using a sponge on the paintwork, at that point my heart sank, deep micro fiber cloths guys and two buckets. Care, Care and even more care on that original paintwork.
Always a good watch when you at Paul’s Adam. The car looks great I know they came with bumper lights and mesh. I would put the mesh in if it’s there or Paul has a set mind like most things on a cossie bet they pricey👍🏼
Thats how to wash one🙂👍👍 exact same procedure we used on stock when i worked at ford main dealer. Tfr everything- wash engine- body- rinse-sponge-rinse. Used a little plastic sheen on the engine too as they dry. Sierra's were before my time it was all mondeo, escort, fiesta, puma then focus😅
I learned to drive in a Sierra. Not the RS but still. My Dad had three of them after another. That is a great car. Drove 1000`s of KMs between Johannesburg and Durban. It will forever be my the car that was there taking me on my first steps.
I'm sat here weeping. I cannot believe you cleaned that motorsport icon with TFR and sponges..🤦🏻♂️I just hope it's going to get a full professional detail at the end of its restoration. My dream car in the 80's after having a race with a moonstone blue one in my pals 5cyl Audi Quattro Coupe. Thank you for sharing. 👍🏻
Absolutely fantastic find... In Stoke On Trent few years ago identical cossi parked near sainsburys and every time make my days 😅 I"m going in may for my dream. I found a Capri Mk1 on scrapyard 😊 Greetings from Poland Guys! :)
Smashing video that with a fantastic car❤❤ Adam, I was nearly sick when I saw you using a sponge and chamois leather to wash the car. Please ditch them and get a wooly wash mitt and some micro fibre drying towels😅😅😅😅😅😅
Brilliant love Paul he’s very knowledgeable and has a massive love for cossies good luck to old boy keeping another classic on road it’s weathered well considering it been sat around for 27 years 👍🏽👍🏽
Lovely to see a proper barn find guys 😮😃. I'd of given anything to be on your shoes Adam. I'd love to come down from ayrshire scotland to detail the car , but I'm sure there are more qualified detailing guys out there than me as I've just started in the last 6 months to properly detail cars . So good luck to the guy of company that gets to clean this beauty and to spend the day with Paul the 500 specialist 😃👍🏻
Lovely motor, more of a mk1 capri man myself but love seeing a proper cozzy my old boss had one. The turbo lag was real, but it soon gave you a wallop once it kicked in, don't get that these days with the smaller more efficient turbos.
I Truly want the owner gets to drive this car for his 80th birthday lads. I Hope Paul and yourself video the process of getting this back on the road. keep us all updated fellas!
Just imagine having an RS500 just parked up for 20-odd years,as if it’s no big thing in 2023… how cool is that?! He will be the coolest octogenarian cruising in this next year.
I'm a hobby detailer (an ex main dealer valeter), the process wasn't that bad Adam ! I've seen worse. If it's having the dents removed, then a good clay bar and machine polish will see it right in the end.
@Adam151082 like going back to stone ages mate . Even using a leather shammy lmao. Just needed some back to black at the end, a half dried up bottle of 1983 t cut and some old fashioned tyre shine slapped on with an old paint brush.
looking good fab motor defo have the interior steam cleaned give it a good freshen up inside be banging motor make sure theres plenty of build vids on it :)
Omg I've just watched Paul's video on this car & omg what a Survivor 1 owner low mileage got to be worth a pretty penny when paul & steve finish with it 👌🏽👌🏽👍🏻👍🏻😲😲
Like it big time why eye. Can't get my head around why someone would leave such as iconic expensive car in storage or barn but there you go car is looking funky before a bath hehe nice one .
Amazing really after all this time cars like these are still coming out the woodwork. The car is certainly in the right hands to be brought back to life, it’s certainly a great workshop. It’s a Ford person’s adult Disney land 😎
@Adam Smith Tell your mate washing the cossie, get hold of aircraft degreasant. Its blue and slightly corrosive as TFR is but you leave it for 3 minutes and it comes up gleaming Every time
Great to share this great car with you Adam , thanks for coming down
Thanks again mate.
I know what you mean about the TFR Paul, the old stuff used to make your hands itch between the fingers if you got it on you lol
Came up super
Bilthamber surfex hd is good, imo better than TFR.

I can just see the faces of the detailers as the sponges and leather were rubbed over it 😂
Can't wait to see the transformation. You and Paul are great on camera together. Quality banter!
You got exactly the answer from Paul that I was expecting, to you saying he had the weight to push the car. 😀
Brilliant video please keep us updated on how it's going
Great Video Adam, I never get tired of seeing you and Paul talking Cossie. Amazing story and find, she's a beauty can't wait to see the next video. Cheers
Honestly Adam & Paul... Your channels are just awesome. Way better than "normal" TV by a country mile hat's off to you dudes 👍🏼
80’s car with 80’s wash techniques
Great stuff lads

Stunning find, brilliant banter. Thanks.
Jim at white details is the man for detailing this one, without doubt. It would also make great content between the two channels.

Paul is the RS-500 doctor! Amzing video! The owner wants to relive his youth! 🏁
Wow, just wow, can't wait to see this car done and driving around again.
The Car Cleaning Guru is the man for the job. 👍👍
Thats one car you wouldnt mind washing after been in a barn for 20 year. Black beauty what a car.
Another enjoyable vid Adam. Paul’s the right man for that job. Can’t wait to see that detailed.

Wat a lucky guy still going strong at 79 and has a mint rs500 cossworth hope u get him on ur channel adam 👍👍👍👍👍
I would love to ask the owner some questions 👍🏼
Omg what a car can't wait 2 see it when it's finished so good 2 see another 500 saved

Brilliant video, what a find of a car. Paul will get that mint, Jim white from White details is the man for this car.
Cleaned up lovely, I’d sacrifice a Saturday off for a day cleaning a barn find cossie 👍🏻🙂
You and me both!
Always a great video with Paul brilliant
Was good to see you at the gym the other week mate. Liking the new videos with the music in
best cleaner ive ever used is G101 ,ITS BRILLIANT .I mix it how i want tar wheels rust and its £60 5 litres you only need a little mixed .
Paul needs to try Bilt Hamber Surfex HD for degreasing. Brilliant stuff and last forever.
I have all kinds to do.....and I am sitting watching some Lad pressure wash some Floor Mats lol......GREAT Craic and North East Banter .
Smashing video that with a fantastic car❤❤ Adam, I was nearly sick when I saw you using a sponge and chamois leather to wash the car. Please ditch them and get a wooly wash mitt and some micro fibre drying towels😅😅😅😅😅😅
What a find ! That plate would of been cool on an RS Turbo ☺️
My first thought too😂
@@JD-eo7dr haha 😆👌🏾
Hi guys , best TFR and anything to do with jet washer is H&P services based in Batley West Yorkshire.
I’d be tempted to get a new set of wheels for it, I doubt those tyres are going to come off without being damaged beyond even show use
Brilliant love Paul he’s very knowledgeable and has a massive love for cossies good luck to old boy keeping another classic on road it’s weathered well considering it been sat around for 27 years 👍🏽👍🏽
Always love seeing the young chaps in the cossie and like mind vehicles
Lovely motor I’d suggest shiney garage citrus oil it’s a Tfr I’ve used it many times on my channel for removing tree sap using it as a prewash
