Esther Choi, I really respect how well you handled yourself during the final battle with so many Iron Chefs. There was no way you were going to win when 5 chefs were focusing on their one and only dish for an hour, while you had to kick butt to get all 5 done. I respect you so much and wish you the very best in life.

iron Chef is LEGENDARY! it was around ever since the 90's in Japan or China (i think) then they rebooted but made it for amercia. the male Asian host who includes the items they will have to cook is the grandson of the original host from Japan or China. Also the legendary Asian cook who came on one of these episodes to judge was from the original series that aired in Japan or China. so yeah.. thats the history behind the show!! They have to renew it! its only respectful to so.
@@tatianaragland4007 Oh, I already knew all of that. I've been watching Food Network for a long time. The reason I felt the need to leave that comment because this is Netflix we're talking about. Even with all of that history, there's no guarantee that they're gonna renew the show. If not enough people watched it, they will cancel it in a heartbeat. I hope that doesn't happen.
@@tatianaragland4007 Mark Dacascos, the current chairman is an actor. He is not actually related to the host of the original Japanese series, Takeshi Kaga, also an actor. The American reboots have both been such fun to watch after enjoying the original series. I hope we get more!

I love Ming Tsai... I've been watching his shows with my dad since I was a kid! He makes me proud to be Asian American. 😍

Esther Choi, you were fantastic on Iron Legend. Congrats. My vote is 100: for Chef Ming. Can't wait to actually taste his cooking again (did years ago at Blue Ginger Boston area).
Going by ingredients and looks alone, Chef Ming Tsai honored the watermelon better and I would willingly try the dish.
Without tasting I would choose Chef Ming Tsai. Both chefs wowed but it's almost comical when in the middle of a timed competition a competitor makes cocktails using the key ingredient and then takes time to toast with the other competitor.
Cuz they are professional chefs that are already famous

I always like when the dish actually has the secret ingredient as the main part of the dish, instead of a side or a garnish.

Well, it’s not like I tasted it... it’s still streaming not tasting.
Let’s see how well my comment will age. People in 2050 be like: “Remember when you couldn’t taste when steaming cooking shows? People just sat and watched other people cook and didn’t even taste it.”

After watching the new season with my wife, she said one thing I didn't realise. The chairman talked so much crap about the food but never tasted any dish lol 😆
Judge Nilou Motamed seemed super biased against Chef Tsai’s food through out all the judging of his dishes. I mean there’s a reason both Wolfgang Puck and the OG Iron Chef Morimoto gave him high praise on his dishes! Chef Tsai all the way!!!
(Still love Chef Curtis Stone though. Dying to try one of his picnics at Gwen!)
P.S. Esther Choi you’re one of my favorite chefs! I’m rooting for you to get a place in the iron chef line up in coming seasons! I mean Iron Chef Choi has a good ring to it!

I like Morimoto's approach on judging the last episode. He was focused on making sure the special ingredient was above any other element on the plate. Not even if it's on the same level.

I am a zookeeper in chicago and I regularly feed the hippos day old sausages so they have a taste of their home. I put strings on the sausages and swing them around the hippos they get so mad at me and scream but it's an obsession sometimes the hippos try and break out of their cages but I keep swinging those hotdogs in wide circles over their heads. Luckily my boss doesn't know I do this or my coworkers
