Way way back in the day they had a weekly program on the C.B.C. that was a must watch in our house.😻😻😻
The Irish Rovers had a show on tv when I was a kid. We watched it as a family. This song came out during my high school years. Before my partying stage. Thanks for the nostalgia.

I'm from Toronto and my parents loved them and played their music all the time. Check out The Black Velvet Band for something a little more subdued and The Unicorn for family friendly with slight religious tones. So many great memories, thanks again for doing this song, more Irish Rovers!!!!
Also check out Great Big Sea, they are from Nova Scotia, Canada and sing some really fun songs that I think you'd enjoy. Mari Mac and When I'm Up are both really terrific songs by them.

The Black Velvet Band (live)- The Irish Rovers ....... Is one of my favorite Irish songs of all time
they were also very popular in Vancouver, they were always active in the local telethons, but they had a legal issue on the song 'Granma got run over by a reindeer', after that the group members started dying off and the voice your hearing is that of 'wee' Jimmy Ferguson, who was one of the first to pass away

That was a fun song and I loved the way they put those cats in the scene. It got my foot stomping loved the solos and arrangement. That cat had love in its eyes.

It's hard being a fan of bands like the Rovers while also enjoying watching reaction videos, since there's like... 10 reaction videos to them on TH-cam, mostly of just two songs? I'd love to see your reaction to their song "Somebody Loved Me", which is a love song from the perspective of a dementia patient. Absolutely destroys me every time, I can't get through the song dry-eyed even after dozens of listens.

I do very much enjoy Irish music (Scottish music too, actually). I'm not sure I ever knew this song under this name, but it is one I'm familiar with. I also know the song they mentioned "The Black Velvet Band". Honestly, my favorite Irish band is Flogging Molly, and boy, I can tell you that they are an absolute _blast_ to see in concert. First time I saw them in concert was in a small club on the edge of Soho in London the day my family had arrived in England for our family trip that year (it was just good timing XD). When they came on stage, I got very familiar with the people in front of and behind me. 😻

LOL. No that's not " Bruce Almighty" That was from " Ace Ventura, Pet Detective." Both great movies though.
I highly recommend checking out some of the other songs they do. Drunken sailor is one of the best versions i've heard.

Let's face facts people watch this because of the goofy cats not necessarily the song. Which is great . But come on were else can see a cat wearing a grapefruit helmet.
I was disappointed in this song; the humor was forced and a bit lame. The funny pictures are its most-redeeming quality, and the Irish Rovers had nothing to do with those.
