I have to admit that I am no Zack Grenier fan, either. However, folks need to realize that many scenarios require people / characters that you (the audience) don't like to be realistic.
I think the guys cast as opr & Pritchard don't contribute to the ratings, but not Grenier. He's playing a role, & anyone with family working at Quantico or the fed knows men just like him. The character they gave Eric Roberts is often not believable. He gets a little soft & indulgent sometimes & extremely unlike the role. But that's really the scriptwriter, though I don't have much respect for how he treated his daughter or his sister irl. Maybe he's just not genuine when showing compassion. But under Dorado's gruff exterior is an actual heart.
I am not sure that I would agree with you. It is not entirely clear, but her husband seems like a real jerk. She didn't want to get back with him, so he tried to destroy her financially which he didn't seem to care would also impact his son. My read of this character is that he wants custody of their son to punish her, at least in part. A good father would try to amicably work out custody if a divorce was in the works.
To a dad who cheats, abandons his wife & even his kids, & when not taken back by the wife, gets his children evicted though she can pay rent, financially manipulates to try to gain vengeful control, gaslights, threatens the well-being of the family he claims to want back, commits physical assault, & tries to sue & press charges when she has to use self-defense plus endangers other agents? Oh, sure. He's a real responsible great influence.
