  • this car was driven to our garage with ; Stop engine ! (low oil pressure) first oil level check , and it was okay oil level was up to the maximum level. then we asked the customer if he recently had the car serviced, customer told us his car been recently serviced, then we asked the customer that for how long has the message of low oil pressure been showing up ? he told us for two weeks , then we asked the customer if he knows the type oil that he had put in the engine he showed the type of oil which we suspected as soon as we saw the gallon, so first advice to the customer was to remove the engine oil and check for any sign of metal parts or any evidence of components friction signs so customer agreed for the procedure, no components friction evidence and metals parts were found in the removed engine oil but as you saw in the video the filter was the wrong filter, after replacing the engine oil with good brand high viscosity oil, oil filter fixed the problem.

My problem was the same, incorrect mounting the oil filter and crushed stick.

If it appears after oil change, check your filter, you probably broke the stick on the filter.

My opinion is if the car in this video has some emission reducing equipment , for example a DPF, then the oil must be approved to use or a non low-saps oil will clog the DPF sooner. Other than that , my DV6TED4 engine equipped car had/has the low oil pressure warning issue at random intervals while it had the proper oil and filter installed properly at less than 10k km intervals. The first times I was concerned if the pressure is really low, but since the hidraulic lifters were silent at even idle rpms, I suspected that maybe it's sensor problem. Anyway, my mechanic took off the oil pan to see if the oil pickup clogged, but seen only a super clean bottom end like if it's new, so put a new oil in it. Since that it came some time again, but no unusual noises, and once even not slowing / stopping or turning off the engine it just went away. So I think, that it can happen really, but then it should give some hidraulic lifter noise (just like when cold starting the engine, the lifters give some noise for a fraction of a second) at idle. I know that a real low oil pressure will cause catastrophic engine failure, but in my case it's just a false alarm - it doesn't even came on when I've experimented with a 0W-20 (approved for DPF diesels) engine oil on the whole 8-10 k kms service interval. The issues happened only for a handful of times in 50k kms in my case.
