I don't think it's possible for me to place one over the other. They're all wonderful, but in very different ways. I absolutely adore this tune, but Turbo never fails to make me super happy (and make me want to bust my horn out and get to practice asap), and Follow the Light is impossible not to love. And Thriller, Hästråtta and Zap are also wonderful, each in their own way. The only tune on the Turbo album that I'm not getting completely giddy over, is Hardtop, but I still like it quite a bit, and can't stop myself from singing along to it. This is one of the things that make me love Dirty Loops so much; no song is quite like the other, and all of them have enough intricacies that I keep finding new stuff all the time, even after years of listening to the songs. For me personally, usually only classical music gives me this much pleasure listening to.

Ring of Saturn is my favorite off this particular project because it's much different from anything I've heard DL do, bur it falls in line with stuff Cory does, kinda. I also love when Jonah steps away from the mic and just plays. Makes me appreciate him as a musician more. Otherwise, I'm just listening to his voice and everyone else's instrument. I like most of the collaborations for different reasons. Only ones I don't like are Zap and Hardtop.

Everything on the Turbo album is gold. For Cory, his live stuff is awesome. In particular check out Cory Wong Live at First Avenue 2022 th-cam.com/video/gx7Krkf3t2k/w-d-xo.html, Dean Town (big bass feature) @ 48:30, and Jam on the Road featuring Cory Wong th-cam.com/video/5QbRxhAzJMI/w-d-xo.html, Brooklyn Bop @ 5:34 or Lilypad @ 12:22 (includes nice drum solo). Also check out stuff from his latest album (Power Station): Jet Screamer, th-cam.com/video/QSYcXFfotCk/w-d-xo.html, or Olympia, th-cam.com/video/b4jOr1KcZf0/w-d-xo.html.

In a word, yes. 😂 love both. Having said that, this is my equal fav track along with Turbo. See what I mean, both. This track brought me right back to when I first heard Spanish Wine by blood sweat and tears. Something about the tone, instrumentation and harmony. Totally get the chic vibe too.

The Wongnotes and the 'Loops are EACH amazing bands, but of their collabs, this one is my favorite. It's so nice to hear the Dirty boys playing it straight, supporting as the horns take the lead on this tune. Just masterful!

One of the most amazing thing to me, is that they put so much effort into the video. And the thing is, that we all get the impression that it is a live-recording. Perfectionists, or true artists. Same thing for me. There are several interviews with the guys talking about, how difficult it is to do the videos. Because, they have to remember how they played in the original take. That is true art to me. And it is important, especially today with this extreme society we are living in today. Just to be alive during this era, and being able and have the honor to experience this before I am gone and forgotten. I have seen Miles two times live, and I saw Nr 27 by Jackson Pollock from a couple of meters away in Rome. This project is up there to me. Cheers from Italy.

Loved your words, thoughts and sentiments there, Miles. And I agree with everything you’re saying, - except I haven’t seen Miles live, ever, but know it would’ve been the absolutely biggest blast… :)

So interesting, the way you go deep into all the different layers and aspects of a piece… so thanks for that 🙏
There are so many things I like about “Ring of Saturn” -yeah, the the horns add so much to it (that flute solo tho!) it’s subtle, chilled and smooth, and for me, most of all, it’s the Latin flavour, chords and rhythms which are just sooo good…
Very enjoyable reaction (smooth intro as well ;)
Dirty Loops “Next To You” and “Rock You” next! 👍

The wind arrangements on this song and on Thriller makes me associate to the golden era of Bossanova. I can not not see the Atlantic ocean coming rolling in towards the Brazilian coast.. And it also takes me back to my Swedish childhood, during which television used to sound like that anytime they showed something relating to summer and sailing...............

Corey Wong and the brass is standing in a studio in Minnesota, USA, and Dirty Loops is standing in a studio in Stockholm, Sweden. Aron Mellergård then stitched it together into one video. He can more than play the drums! The reason for the split recording was of course covid-19. They did their best to make the rooms look similar. Others knows more about this setup, I don't.
