My lower jaw was already down on the ground. Now it's 6 feet under. Masterpiece. Classical, jazz, funk, heavy metal, pop, cinema... Mixed together in a sooo beautiful and fresh way. And the arrival of the monstruous bassline is just heartchoking. Play it again Sam.
The first zoom in on Louis's face when he starts drumming and he is hearing his arrangement being loved by the crowd and the entire orchestra and stage killing it brought a smile to my face, must be such a proud moment and what a unique track this is too, so Louis Cole, congrats to all involved. 👏
When i first started listening to LC, I got hooked on the tight drumming, and now I just want more of the soulful singing, drumming or not. I admire this man's music and thus the man himself. Keep doing what you do, bud. Truly life-affirming stuff.
This is rapidly becoming one of my favourites - hard to describe how, but maybe it's something to do with the sheer power of every layer as it builds, the sax solos always soaring and wailing in what to me sounds like the feeling of needing to vent all of your frustration in a primal scream, and how great it feels to do it. So Sick.
Wow!!! Brilliant. Beautiful. Heartbreaking. Ecstatic. Sublime. Everything works so well together. And the range? From ethereal falsetto and strings, to bone-crunching beats, fatback riffery, and eargasmic saxual ejazzulations… phew!!! Listening straight back around again… fabulous!
Damn Louis, I've been following you for a long time, and even though you were exposing yourself in a cheerful way, it was already clear that you had a deep musical knowledge, that "command" attitude. Seeing you now in such a complex and challenging situation, and dominating it with apparent (or really is) lightness moves me. You are all great artists, speaking of your group, and the orchestra is superlative, also for how it got into the spirit of the show! Greetings from Sicilia, Italy post scriptum: you are, for me, the number one candidate for the next soundtrack of the next 007 film
So don't miss Knower's "One Hope", "Here comes the Big One" and "Crash the Car". Binney's work in those track is truly amazing. He has (had?) also a group
Damn it, man. You're my hero. The way the strings are makes me think of that comment you made once about the rehearsal or demo for In A Silent Way that's in the boxed set. I bet old Zawinul would dig what you're doing.
Thank you for all these uploads. I've just ordered some studio monitors so I don't have to listen to all this on screen speakers. Had tickets for the upcoming UK show. Looking forward to next year now. Get well soon man xx
Especially beautiful w/ a full orchestra...in fact, just like a sacred intro to something profane but equally sublime... . Sam Gendel couldn't be there, but Dave Binney does a great job soloing on 'Bitches'.'
Considering when Frank Zappa died, doesn't Louis Cole tell us all we need to know about reincarnation? I mean, there's no way you reach this level in one lifetime, right?

Thank You Louis Cole and musicians.
Whole ensemble is next level. David Binney’s sax solo is otherworldly. Easily one of the best albums in my 47-years of being a voracious listener.
David's solo is out of this world!
bass line goes crazy
Sam Wilkes is a monster.
@@cookietinsewingkit this is such an understatement hahaha.

I dont know man... this song just makes me cry... the lyrics and the music are so compelling... Reminds me of some special people in my life...
Huh, reminds me of 2 clowns in a portapotty
This is next-level harmonic architecture. Exit question: Cucumber or no cucumber?

Wow, an amazing arrangement and performance.
This whole performance is probably the only song that exists to accurately describe one's personal musical preferences, for lack of a single genre!
Very very very special talent. Can't wait whats next
God Dave Binney is good. And by good I mean great. Louis is the most versatile musician I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. Thank You!!
1:15 full body chills and a tear from me. Overwhelming beauty

Reminiscent of a Yellowjackets/Ferrante intro. Beautiful!
This goes so hard! Like a beautiful amalgamation of genres. Love it!
Louis - Absolute Master!!!
I love how no one can help but grooving to that hard drop
From 100 to FUNK 2:03 (edit) Jesus Christ, that sax solo is like fire with smoke on it.

Anthony Fantano is objectively wrong about this album
What did he say?
I was just thinking the same thing on the drive to work this morning 🤣
@@LeakyJAZZ He gave it a 7 but honestly he was really positive about it and Louis in general
