hey, sis! let's chat. today's question: what is the 6th habit you we should add to our list?! for me: i think habit #6 to live an unhurried life is to live a life of service -- meaning monthly, it not more frequently, serving your local church, serving/ giving back to your community in some way, etc. I think that the more that we step outside of ourselves and our day-to-day to care about others and put their needs above our own, the more unhurried (and the more like Jesus) we will look!
Thanks for this video! My number 6 may be related to yours but this would lean more towards spending time with people who love the Lord (however that may look like---through a call, over coffee, even messaging) to bond/fellowship with them, listen to them, and love on each other. I feel like in a very busy, productivity-addicted world (even among Christian circles) it can be so easy to see even ministry and discipleship time as items to check off my to-do list. I have to constantly remind myself: people are not projects! And love is the greatest priority of my life. This is easier said than done for me these days, and what helps me most is when I take time to step back, unplug/turn off my phone, and FIRST let the Lord LOVE ON ME so that I can overflow to others... Praise God for grace upon grace!!! Keep encouraging, Ms. Melody Alisa. Love from the Philippines!
For me I would say try to find balance so we can do the will.of God and also our responsibility which is expected of us as a wife, sister, friend, daughter etc. and not get caught up in the burdens of the busyness around us...SURROUND OURSELVES WITH CHRIST LIKE, POSITIVE PEOPLE Who will pray with and for you🙏🏾
My 6th habit:Be grateful for every blessing & stopping the complaining & grumbling. God said this to me yesterday in a gentle stern voice that I should stop complaining & be grateful. The act of complaining & grumbling is actually a lack of faith. I was grumbling about my work that I once prayed day & night for. Unlearning this will allow humility, patience & meeksness to enter & become me. Thus making our lives less hurried
Habit #6 Others progress does not mean your failure! You are on your own time in GODS plan ! Keep your eyes on the one above not those around you! ❤ May this find you well Amen 🙏
I really had an “a-ha” moment when you talked about how Jesus would be interrupted and he took to that with delight and patience. And how he would retreat and rest. He really was modeling how he wants us to live our lives.
I’m currently learning how to rest. I am constantly being there for everyone- my children, friends, mom, colleagues, etc and I don’t allow myself to say Nope, can’t do it. This is my sacred time and I only want to hear from My Father during this quiet time. It feels great!!😂
Thank You Sis! The 6th Habit could be Take Pause Breaks throughout your day. During this time say a prayer or a scripture. This allows the mind to stop and focus on God. Thank you for this message so important to remember. ❤
Taking your time Is not wasting time - we rush around as humans trying to get to the next step and sometimes make unnecessary mistakes. It's okay to sit back and take things in and move at a slower pace
Something had came up to me while I was at church yesterday in a vision as a reminder that Ministry can burn you out due to the fact that oftentimes we make it get to idolization and thus we allow ourselves to get so burnt out, Mentally drained and so overwhelmed to the point in which we can't even find the time to spend or sit with God, as well as neglecting other responsibilities.....WE CAN'T ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN, WE HAVE TO BALANCE OUR TIME BETTER AND DONT ALLOW THE BUSYNESS AROUND US TO CONSUME OUR LIVES...Have Mercy Upon Us Dear Lord
For me, habit #6 would be doing everything (work, academics, finances, relationships etc) to honour the Lord. I'm learning how to do this and I've found that there is so much peace that has set into my routine knowing that all I do is for the Lord and that honouring him and praising him name through it all is enough.
Heyy sis! Thank you so much for this🤗 Habit #6 for me (a mindset one) stop comparing your unhurried pace with other's unhurried pace. It all looks different. I often find myself(whether unconsciously or consciously) comparing where I am following God's lead in my life to where other believers are. But God works with us as at our own paces and if He knows all of my needs then He also knows how long I need to be prepared for things in my life and how patient He needs to be with me. This habit is more mindset than anything. But I think one practical way to implement it is by not looking at others lives on social media too much thinking that yours has to be that way. Once you realize you are making their pace better than yours, you may need to take a few steps back from social media.
One part of unhurried life is to take time With God and learn more of Him today You are there in the park enjoying the day With your Bible and music to learn and praise You are there walking barefoot and enjoying Having only a floral print dress on for beauty Wearing nothing underneath it for comfort
Crocheting while listening to your videos has become my soul’s rest. A few months ago, God called me to study the ceremonial Sabbath (Day of Atonement and Feast of Trumpets) and the Moral Sabbath (the Fourth Commandment). He then invited me to observe the Sabbath to sanctify and strengthen our relationship. Initially, it was challenging to disconnect completely and focus solely on praising Him rather than my own creations. Eventually, my anxiety often kept me from sanctifying the Sabbath as He commanded. Then, God led me to crochet. At first, I didn’t understand why. My grandmother had taught me to crochet years ago, but I hated it and left my project half-finished. God, in His beauty, showed me that crocheting was His way of helping me slow down, stay grounded in the present, and listen to Him. I thought this was the whole purpose, but then He began sending me countless signs to become a virtuous woman. I didn’t even know that term; I told my friend that the holy spirit was calling me to become “God’s wife.” 😂 I’m new to this journey and am breaking a lot of cycles of generational pain. I grew up in a family that didn’t have a god. I was taught the Bible as a “tool to control idiots,” and those around me who went to church didn’t seem to really understand God’s truth. They often shared God’s word with me in an aggressive way, which was nothing like the love He inspires in me now. That’s why I love how you spread God’s message; your tender voice and the soothing background music bring me such peace. Every evening before bed, this is how I unwind. I pray for you and thank God for allowing me to have English as a second language so I can receive His message through your gentleness. ❤
6th Habit: Learning to communicate and pray with GOD on a daily basis WHILE we are doing other things. Being intentional about prayer as we do other things and dedicated time to pray even if it's 5 minutes
As counterintuitive as it sounds, I've been able to achieve more in the last 5 & a half months of embracing an unhurried pace than when I was frantically keeping myself busy. I've grown more in many areas without performing & proving, just doing what God requires of me as He orders my steps 😊❤
Still working on the resting myself! It has been so hard when my value has been (falsely) wrapped up in doing, in “exceptional” performance since childhood. But we are enough as we are; there is nothing we have to DO to receive God’s unconditional love - being is enough. Thank you for this msg ❤ 🙏
Sister Melody, thank you for sharing this session of awareness and mindfulness. I am feeling anxiety now as I search for f/t employment where I feel appreciated, valued, with God's Grace and integrity. I feel overwhelmed. The salary is not sustainable, nor is it the promised salary made during my Onboarding process. I am growing frustrated and devalued. I am remaining prayerful trusting and believing God for my Breakthrough. Amen, Please remain prayerful and encouraged. His Humbled Servant,
Thankyou so much for this video. I just graduated highschool and I was homeschooled for all 4 years. Tbh, I feel horrible.. I feel like I wasted time. I feel like my purpose would’ve been revealed maybe if I just prayed and fasted more. My purpose just got revealed this year. I’ve been trying to do what God called me to do but I lack consistency. I was just telling my friend last night that I had all this time to be productive but I chose not to so I don’t deserve a break. I strongly feel like I don’t deserve a break because what have I done to deserve one? Nothing. And it’s not even just when that, I can be praying for God, talking to God, and just spending time with God the whole day, but if I don’t read my Bible, it feels like I didn’t do anything. I don’t want to get caught up into a work based faith, but this is how I feel
I totally relate to you here. I've felt the same way. Especially being in college where my friends have majors that seem a bit harder than mine, and therefore feels like they work harder than me. And I would think that they deserve breaks way more because they get their stuff done. But what do I get for writing (major is creative writing)? Nothing. At least that's how I felt, and I was also starting to wish that I would feel "real burnout" because that's how I know I would be working hard. But this mindset is toxic for me and you. I think what has helped me start to get through it is not comparing the pace I work, how I work, and the season I am in with that of my peers who do different things than me and operate differently than me. I think what causes us to lack that consistency (at least this is one way) is that we keep trying to do life like other people around us, instead of sitting with God and letting Him examine us so we can know how we need to work through something ya know? I hope this was helpful in some way🤗
@@nofacadepodcast1One thing that God has been showing me: You don’t need to feel busy or even be busy to have value. If you’re struggling with your productivity, just breathe and pray about it. Ask God to help you overcome your mental, physical, and spiritual blocks. For me, I know the main reason I couldn’t be physically productive was because my mental wasn’t there. I was overthinking and so many things were happening all at once and it was hard for my body to keep up with my mind. It’s okay to be still sometimes, even physically. Don’t let satan tell you you aren’t worthy of having a break. That’s a lie! He only says that to make us think we can’t rest and to keep us so busy and focused on OUR productivity and doing things in our own (nonexistent) power that we become drained. Don’t focus so much on your own abilities. You work WITH God, not FOR God. He’s your FATHER God. Not your boss at work! Take a step back, allow yourself to rest in God’s presence and He’ll show you what to do from there. And encourage yourself in the Lord! Meditate on His word. God has nothing but positive things to say about you. Are you speaking to you the way God would? Don’t be so hard on you, you outta be your second best friend (after Jesus). Give you a break!
Another thing: If you’re struggling to read your Bible more (saying this cause I struggled a lot but I’ve gotten better), ask God to help you. It isn’t about doing things in your power, but the power of God’s Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will give you the strength, the discipline, everything you need to get up and do what God calls you to do. Not by power, not by might, but by the Spirit of God!
I am learning to work and rest. Also, I need to work on developing a heavenly mindset. Number #6- To be still and listen. Sometimes we need to block everything out and just listen for the Lord directions.
I love these tips so much especially creating that rhythm of work and rest; I've been leanining into this through practicing sabath. Also LOVE co-pilot and Kaylin is the best, definitely recommend it for anyone who's struggled with consistently working out in the past x
Bonus: In this life, we get so caught up in living our “best life” we forget that Jesus tells us to see about one another. Reference verse in Philippians 2:3-4 “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves".
Honestly Mel at this point God is talking to me through you. Past several uploads were answering or advising me on the same situation/topic. From past Saturday I've been comparing and putting pressure on myself. Yesterday I was crying because he seems to see everyone but Me. I was HURRYING. Thank you sis
"Always About My Father's Business" ..This is my desire but Oftentimes I fail to do so becuz of the chaos and busyness that happen in and around my life ( its like I dont have enough time in a day to do what is require of me😭😭😭 O LORD!!! I Repent ....I just want to always be in your presence 😢😢
Love this!! Cultivating a lifestyle of fasting would be my 6th! Meaning regularly being in tune with the Holy Spirit and asking what He would have you lay down in this season.
Needed this because whewww it’s easy to get caught up in what’s new what’s on sale what I need to get but no I definitely needed redirection and focus on God and have him at the center of my world
I have recently start watching this channel and i straight up subscribe cause I know this can help me in the future💕🌸, so thank you so much The 6# habit - Having patience, wait on God has he changing our season and accepting and having faith!!
I am a single mom of 3 boys and we just got into our own apartment after 5 years of living with family. We got a nice sized apartment and at first it was a little overwhelming. I’m also going through a shift change at work and I will soon be able to be home with my boys 4 days out of the week (when they are not in school). I’m really wanting to get into being a holy homemaker. I’m finally in a place where I’m not fighting to survive. I’m in a season of thriving but I’m not sure what that looks like with all this change and time at home😅 Please pray for an easy transition and guidance in this homemaker lifestyle 🥰
6. Understanding that everybody is in a different moment in their own process, so we can't force people to understand or change, we just need to have empathy and trust that God's ways are better and that God is never late :)
I am only five minutes and 35 seconds in and this is really RICH….. it is also convicting my spirit… but I am listening sis and will finish this off and I will do what I need to do to be about MY FATHER’S BUSINESS!!!
I needed this motivation. I am a little confused about what to do with my life as a 24 year old. Trying to figure out my purpose, talents and other stuff. I just want to take my time (but not too much time) and not rush it. You know?
i totally understand what you mean sis. i think this is the perfect time to start implementing these habits to keep the distractions of the world and the noise at bay and truly tune into what God has for YOU! you probably won't see or understand how he's moving moment to moment, but just stick close to Him and trust that He is and I promise you, you'll look up in a few months/ years and be amazed at where He's brought you as you've simply fixed your eyes on Him! ♥️
@TiMariee I'm 27 but I remember this feeling so well. The first scripture that came to mind when I saw your comment was Matthew 6:33. Things will become clearer as you keep journeying with God. May God bless you and calm any anxiety!❤
I think something else that’s really helped me live more unhurried is just trusting God. Self help and motivation culture are good in some respects perhaps. But they sell the idea that it’s all up to me to make my life happen as I want it to. Meanwhile, the Bible says woe to him who puts his trust in the arm of flesh(me), for the arm of flesh(me) will fail me. Which, after years of trying to do it all by myself, I can admit that this is so true. It says to trust Him and not lean on my own understanding. It says that His strength is made perfect in my weakness. Too many Scriptures point to my absolute incapacity and my only hope being to just let go and trust Him. So why do I need to be so ‘on’ all the time? When He’s the actual Creator of my destiny, not me. Unlike social media says. Plus He already wrote my life story. Now, because I’m understanding these things better, I’m learning to rest. And even being diligent, cause we’re still called to be faithful and to do well all that our hands find to do, I’m diligent from a place of trust and rest in Him. Not trust and pressure on me.
#6 Slow down and take in the beauty of what God has done in our lives. We could be missing out on what God is trying to tell and show us. Scripture reference is Psalms 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God”. Blessings. ❤😊
We need to take the time to slow down and just Thank Jesus for ALL our blessings and that He will help us with all our habits that we need to work on. Thank you Melody for a another wonderful video. ❤
Habit #6 for me would be to practice gratitude for the 24 hours that we have been given. Jesus has really been teaching me how to count my days and to not take them for granted. I often used to feel overwhelmed when I think about ALL I have to do and ALL I want to accomplish because I am so "ambitious" but the Lord has been gracious to show me that tomorrow, the future really is just a figment of our imagination and all we really have is today so, rejoice, be glad, be grateful for where you are now even if all you have to be grateful for is breath hey! PLENTY would want that option too. So yeah. Thank you Mel for this video, I love it when my life and your videos are in sync :) Be Blessed.
Habit 6 Small great wins In productivity/hustle culture we want big wins that turn heads. I remember one morning i woke up and looked at my calendar and it was already April and i hadn't achieved anything. Then i remembered being told about 'small great wins' As a person who wants to write a book and hopefully publish. I often find myself wanting to write a book within a month and start publishing it on online platforms (wattpad) I always want a quick win. Another example i was given concern my spiritual growth was to learn from a tree, specifically indigenous once. They take years to mature. Upto 30 years. So basically when i break a fast, fail to be consistent in pray, i should beat myself but remember the tree , and have grace for myself. Remember you are still a seedling not a tree yet. Happy times sis
Thank you for the video Melody. I would also add being cognisant of chronos vs kairos time. This is similar to a point you made. Chronos is the chronological time and kairos is the quality of time, the appointed time. Jesus operated in kairos time and it’s almost a way to see time as seasons
The 6th habit could be to write out the thoughts that are causing us to feel "hurried" or "rushed" and analyze it. Is this from God or satan? Is this something aligning with God's word or anxiety? That will help us to slow down and really process what is going on to know how to move forward.
You mentioned rest but did not mention the sabbath and I think that’s exactly why The Father gave us a sabbath day. It was for rest just like He worked for 6 days with creation then rested on the 7th day, we must also do the same
thank you for sharing such an awesome message.Awesome God my family are happy once again and can now afford anything for my family even with my Retirement.$57k weekly returns has been life changing, after so much struggles.
YES!!! That's exactly her name (Maria Angelina Alexander) so many people have recommended highly about her and am just starting with her from Brisbane Australia.
I feel very disconnected from the Lord and don’t know how to connect again, where do I start reading from ? As a mom and a wife I just feel far from God.

Always right on time!
🙌🏽♥
Needed this because whewww it’s easy to get caught up in what’s new what’s on sale what I need to get but no I definitely needed redirection and focus on God and have him at the center of my world
HABIT #6- self care day/ meditation & praying
Thank Melody for tips during Gift of singleness season age 42. God sent for reasons to hear this.
I love you Melody
Your videos are always so timely❤️ Thank you Melody
@@MelodyAlisa Amen. I will!
@TiMariee I'm 27 but I remember this feeling so well. The first scripture that came to mind when I saw your comment was Matthew 6:33. Things will become clearer as you keep journeying with God. May God bless you and calm any anxiety!❤
Wating and seeing trusting in God that he knows
That first habit I needed to hear, thank you.
Finding beauty in the small things throughout the day
Love this one sis!
LOVE THIS! thank you for sharing sis!!
Thank you for this beautiful video about rest from a biblical perspective. I needed to hear this! Newly subscribed. ❤
Thank you for making Melody! This is very helpful 💖
Beautiful message and very much needed ❤❤
I needed this I’ve been struggling being consistent with working out sis God is speaking to me through you ❤
Habit #6 for me would be to practice gratitude for the 24 hours that we have been given.
Your videos are always in line with my life and where I am spiritually. I know this is no coincidence, this is a word for me 🙏🏾
this is always right one time, thank you for your obedience 💗
The timing 🔥
I really look forward to your videos. Beside from God, I enjoy hearing your advice as well. He definitely led me to you!
Habit 6
Small great wins
In productivity/hustle culture we want big wins that turn heads.
I remember one morning i woke up and looked at my calendar and it was already April and i hadn't achieved anything.
Then i remembered being told about 'small great wins'
As a person who wants to write a book and hopefully publish. I often find myself wanting to write a book within a month and start publishing it on online platforms (wattpad)
I always want a quick win.
Good one !! ❤️🙌🏽
In tge moenings while getting ready. Listen to the word before any other thing is said to you
Amen 🙏 God bless you ❤
thank you sis! hope it leaves you feeling encouraged!
@@MelodyAlisa I’m a male
Thank you for the video Melody. I would also add being cognisant of chronos vs kairos time. This is similar to a point you made. Chronos is the chronological time and kairos is the quality of time, the appointed time. Jesus operated in kairos time and it’s almost a way to see time as seasons
We should pray always and spend intentional time with God.
Really good one Melody, thank you for allowing God to use you to bring us this word!
As a mom.. welcoming INTERRUPTIONS, is a whole thing and I will use this heart posture. ❤️🩹
Yesss! Us mamas know interruptions like no other, we’ll get practice for this one daily ♥️♥️
Ikr, the only business I mind is my father's business! 😊 Tfs
👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you for such a good, timely Word for my life.

What a powerful message!! 👏🏽
Slow down and just listen. Be still and let God be God
Absolutely awesome teaching today!
Great message!!❤
Thanks sista ❤ The title alone called me out 😄 Talk about perfect timing!
🙌🏾♥️♥️
The 6th habit could be to write out the thoughts that are causing us to feel "hurried" or "rushed" and analyze it. Is this from God or satan? Is this something aligning with God's word or anxiety? That will help us to slow down and really process what is going on to know how to move forward.
Thank you for this 🥺
How do we discern whether the distraction is beneficial or not?
Worship!
oooh fantastic addition to the list, sis!!
Thank you for this 💕 I had been thinking about this all weekend
You mentioned rest but did not mention the sabbath and I think that’s exactly why The Father gave us a sabbath day. It was for rest just like He worked for 6 days with creation then rested on the 7th day, we must also do the same
best video thus far you put out this year !
This is so needed sis; absolutely relatable 😢
So GOOD 🙏🏽✨🙌🏽✝️

Let your Yes be your Yes and your no be your No : be very intentional about the things that you commit yourself to
Thank you Melody!

Keeping the Sabbath will help which is the fourth commandment
Yesss love this addition!

Thank you for this beautiful reminder!
I’m in the season where I’m learning to make more space for my personal time with God, so this was timely 🩷

An unhurried habit to me is paying tithes and supporting ministries that are doing the will of God.
thank you for sharing such an awesome message.Awesome God my family are happy once again
and can now afford anything for my family even with my Retirement.$57k weekly returns has been life changing, after so much struggles.
Maria Angelina Alexander I really appreciate her efforts and transparency.
I remember giving her my first savings $20000 and she opened a brokerage account for me it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me.
This is a definition of God's unending provisions for his people. God remains faithful to his words. I receive this for my household.🙏
YES!!! That's exactly her name (Maria Angelina Alexander) so many people have recommended highly about her and am just starting with her from Brisbane Australia.
Please how can I contact her directly?
I feel very disconnected from the Lord and don’t know how to connect again, where do I start reading from ? As a mom and a wife I just feel far from God.
Just start- God will meet you exactly where you are. He knows your heart 💜
😊❤
