Considering that she wouldn't speak she was so traumatized by her birth mother and her adoptive mother sent her to a vocal coach to help her. That was her adoptive mother in the video. The therapy included singing, so you could say she first learned to communicate through song. Maybe that's why it seems so natural and why she is so physically expressive in her songs. Just my own thoughts on it.

When she was 3 her mother left on the streets with a broken Collarbone..When found later on she was in an animal mode..She would growl and cry and didn't accept contact..She was put into an Orphanage where her Adoptive Mom worked and the rest is history..She was singing and started smiling taught stage presence she won numerous contest until the last show where she won the whole thing on You are Special in 2018 and won the Grand Prize in 2019 for increasing the audiance size and gaining more Sponser's than ever before...She was given an Apt. in Moscow along with a full ride at a Music School plus a international tour when the Pandemic is under control..This is what I know I am a member of her fan club also..

And Elizabeth explained a bit about how much skill it takes to do to those range-jumps that makes yodeling sound as it does. I undestood the judges lack of appreciation as a result of Diana doing something quite foreign, something that they really didn't understand and something that took a level of skills that they were utterly cluless about. She kinda use the same technique in Rechenka, but with a much more powerfull emotional impact than normal yodeling. There is a lot of similarity between her use of flics into falsetto and what happens when someone struck by deep tragedy is wailing out from desperate pain and sorrow. They say that you cant be a great comic without a lot of abuse in your childhood. I think that same goes for great artists. They get to understand how the world is at a level that takes 40 years for most people.
Rechenka means little river. This is folk song about orphan girl that is being married against her will and she came to river talking and crying to your passed mom. Diana is orphan herself. And in this tv show all participants are orphans
there is nothing in the text about marriage against her will or not. It's only said that she misses her mom on the day of her marriage and she has no parents to bless her in this day. She is amazing, from what I heard at 1st, she was 1 of 7 children to live, she was placed into adoption where an abusive mom beat her, supposedly, someone found her in the Russian snow beaten badly, and one or both legs were broken, she was hospitalized and the lady in this video adopted her, at age 3, started singing your, but didn't talk to much but would yodel alot, finally started singing around 10, up and downs but your right u can see the pain in her eyes kind of scary but amazing to watch. 17 or 18 now. Lost Russian voice 1st time but came back and nailed it twice she won it, last time got her a scholarship to college, and same guy coach for Demash coached her and gave her an apartment for college. Shes blessed but still can pull you in with her eyes and voice, going to her special place she's use to running to. ✌

Diana (pronounced Dee-anna) was born 31st May 2003 & will be 18 this year. This performance of Rechenka (The River) was recorded in 2018 several weeks before her 15th birthday. The show is called "You Are Super" and is designed to highlight the talents of disadvantaged children - Diana suffered abuse by her birth mother and ended up in an orphanage at the age of 3. @@tagfat I am sorry the show is called "You Are Super"..I watched the 2018 show and then the award show for 2019..She was given vocal lessons to help her talk she also took Yodeling and is now considered an expert.. Before the 2018 "You are Super" she went on Voice Russia kids..She Yodeled and was fantastic but no judge turned..Watch it see how much of idiots they felt and play the tape all the way because Diane sings a song in french and they hate themselves for not turning..
@@michaelhughes3472 Yeah. I saw the Charismatic Voice reaction video to that performance. And Elizabeth explained a bit about how much skill it takes to do to those range-jumps that makes yodeling sound as it does. I undestood the judges lack of appreciation as a result of Diana doing something quite foreign, something that they really didn't understand and something that took a level of skills that they were utterly cluless about.
She kinda use the same technique in Rechenka, but with a much more powerfull emotional impact than normal yodeling. There is a lot of similarity between her use of flics into falsetto and what happens when someone struck by deep tragedy is wailing out from desperate pain and sorrow. They say that you cant be a great comic without a lot of abuse in your childhood. I think that same goes for great artists. They get to understand how the world is at a level that takes 40 years for most people.
Rechenka means little river. This is folk song about orphan girl that is being married against her will and she came to river talking and crying to your passed mom. Diana is orphan herself. And in this tv show all participants are orphans

there is nothing in the text about marriage against her will or not. It's only said that she misses her mom on the day of her marriage and she has no parents to bless her in this day. The house is full of guests but she came to the river to talk to her mom.
To note, the song is very old. Centuries ago there was a tradition to sing sad songs during the marriage not to jinx the future happiness of the family

It helps people who don't speak English as their first language understand better. The pronunciation speed is not too high. The horses are in the courtyard. The guests are gathered and the wedding celebration begins.
In Russia, it was customary to sing sad songs at weddings to scare off evil. This should drive away evil spirits and bring good luck. Such songs were called 'crying'.

Diana was " mute" ti she was 4-5 yo. She bacame like this because of sevsre physical abuse she took from alcoholic mother. Post traumatic stress disorder. Onece her " mother " attempted to kill her... After Diana was adapted by loving people( her mom in this video) she received a very aggressive speech therapy part of which was singing ... Amazing story. Fascinating story. Diana is a hero!!!

She is adopted, and she start to speak very very late compared to other kids. So, as one of the judges said: "She was kissed by the god."
She is amazing, from what I heard at 1st, she was 1 of 7 children to live, she was placed into adoption where an abusive mom beat her, supposedly, someone found her in the Russian snow beaten badly, and one or both legs were broken, she was hospitalized and the lady in this video adopted her, at age 3, started singing your, but didn't talk to much but would yodel alot, finally started singing around 10, up and downs but your right u can see the pain in her eyes kind of scary but amazing to watch. 17 or 18 now. Lost Russian voice 1st time but came back and nailed it twice she won it, last time got her a scholarship to college, and same guy coach for Demash coached her and gave her an apartment for college.
Shes blessed but still can pull you in with her eyes and voice, going to her special place she's use to running to. ✌

Не поленился посмотреть оригинал этой песни в исполнении Аллы Пугачевой. Ну что можно сказать, бледная тень Дианы. Хотя Пугачева к тому времени уже матерая певица с бекграундом и жизненным опытом. Но не взлетело. А здесь и вокал и актерская игра, и сцена, и подтанцовка все на своих местах. Шикарно.

Hi Jen, looks like you suffered from NTV blocking the video initially - it's only just popped up on my recommendations - as a result the views you've received are artificially low and undeserved for such a good reaction.
Diana (pronounced Dee-anna) was born 31st May 2003 & will be 18 this year. This performance of Rechenka (The River) was recorded in 2018 several weeks before her 15th birthday. The show is called "You Are Super" and is designed to highlight the talents of disadvantaged children - Diana suffered abuse by her birth mother and ended up in an orphanage at the age of 3. She was subsequently adopted by Irina, the lady in the glasses, who worked with the orphanage as a masseuse. At the time, Diana barely spoke and it was suggested she attend singing classes to improve her speech, with spectacular results.
Diana appeared on "You Are Super" twice, in 2018 & 2019, the latter being a Grand Prix season for past winners and finalists - she won both years. She is presently studying at GITIS a prestigious dramatic arts college in Moscow.
