- In this episode of #BuildingTheBrowns get an inside look how pass game coordinator/wide receivers coach Chad O'Shea works with the scouting staff to evaluate prospects at the NFL Combine, behind-the-scenes footage of new Browns players, including WR Amari Cooper and QB Deshaun Watson, as they arrive in Cleveland and come to CrossCountry Mortgage Campus and experience what it's like to be a Browns area scout with Zach Ayers as he visits USC's Pro Day.

The Jakeem Grant signing is underrated. Huge addition to the kick return game which is badly needed.

We will see, Right now I’m excited for all of the signings except Watson. As a 40+ year Browns fan I’ll be excited when Watson is actually playing. I think he is a better player on paper than Baker but I don’t think he is better in any other aspect as a human being.

Really good documentary series. I'll admit that this is my first ever full season following the NFL (UK NFL fan). I chose the browns as my team to support due to Nick Chubb. The guy is just such a tank. I cannot wait to what Watson has to offer as a quarterback. Really hope we can make the play offs this year. Let's go browns! 🤎🤎

Next up is the week 2 of OTAs capped up by the Draft next weekend! This momentum building from the offseason is super exciting and hearing from the players about how Deshaun and Myles are already putting together bonding activities that involve the entire team and how the Browns are working on the suggestions of JJ3 and others as far as the facility changes in progress.
How these guys are VOLUNTARILY coming into snowy Cleveland during Spring break period. LOVING what I’m seeing from the Browns so far.

The Browns are a team that are always looking forward, building momentum, and treat setbacks as opportunities for development. Personal opinion is they are one of the most exciting teams in the league.
No offense to Baker Mayfield (no pun intended), but having Deshaun Watson as a QB gives me so much hope and confidence about this team! And getting #1 WR like Amari Cooper was like icing on a cake!

Yeah, but whose fault is it when they don't? It isn't hype the team has put out there. It is all coming from the media, who then convey it to the fans. I am sure the team has always had its own expectations and timetable. Also, the same ones pushing all the hype were also saying the Browns couldn't make it to a SB with Mayfield at QB. So, the team has been held to someone else's expectations and when they don't meet or exceed them, they get blamed.

@@lt_dedshotz9954 I agree. This isn’t a hard prediction to make and it isn’t “hype”. It is totally realistic. All they were missing was even a consistent QB. Now, they have a great one. Also, unlike previous “hype” created only by the media, the Browns have realistic SB expectation. They now will have both the offense and the defense to make it happen.
@@besharponeful people don't realize something. Baker ranked near the bottom of every category and we still had a chance to win the division until the very end of the season. That that sink in people lol. I'm just nervous he might get a big suspension or of something else coming up and maybe him missing the season. That would be our luck.

Turn on the tape. Watson has demonstrated talent and ability to play above the talent on the roster. Watson is better than any mobile QB the Browns have had in the past. Plus he looks to throw first even when the pocket breaks down. He’s just an supreme athlete
@@terrellk3242 But Watson wasn't thrown into a program that's had frequent coaching staff changes and that went 0-16 before he got there. Baker helped with the winning culture that the Brown's have now whether or not you want to credit him for that.

I know there has been hype about him since the Browns have gotten him but not all that much said about him before. Not as much as the big time kick returners. We can only hope.

He can be electric and turn around the outcome of a game on a single play either by returning a punt/kickoff for a TD or by muffing a punt and giving back possession to the kicking team.

I have been a Cleveland Browns Fan since the 70s, when Brian Sipe was the QB. But I have never been more excited about being Browns Fan than I am this season. The Browns have had a great offseason so far, they acquired a Franchise QB in Deshaun Watson and a #1 Receiver in Amari Cooper. Those 2 moves would have been enough for me, but Andrew Berry did not stop there, he also found a new Punter Corey Bojorquez, who punted the ball 82 yards in a game last season for the Packers, and Punt and Kick Returner Jakeem Grant, based upon his history, he is the best Kick Returner since Josh Cribbs. Now all they need is a Kicker, and Mary Kay Cabot said that the Browns have sent a high-ranking person from the Browns Organization to meet with LSU Kicker Cade York. I hope that they draft Cade York on Saturday, even if they have to use a 4th round pick to get him. Remember it was Cade York who kicked a 50 plus yard FG in the fog to beat Florida 37-34. Also, he holds LSU record longest FG record (57 yards). If Andrew Berry drafts York, then I think the Browns will win the division, because some of these games might come down to a kick. Look how many games the Bengals won last year with the Kicker they drafted. They won 2 playoff games on a Kick. I used to take Kickers for granted, but not anymore, when you are trying to build a Super Bowl Champion.
I was excited in 2020 and before Baker's injuries and the OBJ situation last year. Hopefully the defense can be dealt with in the draft because so far I'm not all that excited about any of the defense pick ups. I'm also very far from satisfied about WR and TE. I think losing Tretter and Hooper will hurt the team unless the people they get to take their place are just as good. Tretter and Hooper were both very important to the running game but Njoku is not a good blocker and right now we have no idea what the center position is going to be like. I'm still up in the air about Cooper from what I read about him and so far we have nothing in the WR room other than him that could be considered a starter.
I remember when we sang the Twelve Days of a Cleveland Browns Christmas! I don’t remember all the lyrics but I remember Brian Sipe a passing and either Mike Baab or Delaummaleur (sic) a hiking. Alzado a sacking. 😂😂😂 I think this was in 1980 when we lost the AFC championship to the Raiders on the Red Right 88 play that Sipe threw to Marques Haynes in the end zone for a touch back ending the game.
We need to give the haslems some credit they got us good jerseys again and are making moves and spending money to get a championship and Andrew berry is a wizard

Watching this video is so interesting. At no time did I think back to the bad years, the rep, the teams that ccould not win, all I saw was a cohesive organization dealing with strong players. I love Deshuan, and Brisset, he played for my team the Patriots, I know that history, and I know somethings about Dobbs. That is a strong QB room.
I am actually now looking forward to seeing how the Browns do this year. It isn't clear if Deshaun will start the season, but I feel there is a plan. Cleveland looks like a well run organization. I look forward to seeing the competitive level of the team they put on the field. Good luck.

As bad as things went last year, the Browns were still in the hunt to win the division in Week 17 when Cincinnati upset Kansas City to dash our hopes. But almost everything that could go wrong, did go wrong and the team was still right there at the end.
Now we've taken our biggest weakness (yes, let's be honest) and replaced him with an elite young quarterback *and* have already added a WR1, which we did not have last year, and I'm sure more to come. Grant is going to be a huge difference-maker, as our return game hasn't been any good since Josh Cribbs was out there. Winovich and Bryan are good players signed for peanuts.
That's not even mentioning Brissett and Dobbs, who could be QB1/QB2 in lesser rooms.
I really think Andrew Berry is the best GM in the NFL. Yep, I said it. This roster is loaded and I'm not sure the rest of the NFL is completely aware of how good this team is going to be.

@@hugh-jasole I don't hate Baker. And I don't think most Browns fans hate Baker, either. The Baker hate mostly comes from the national media. They've really been going after him hard since he came into the league. I think he's seen as arrogant and overrated by some.
Most Browns fans have moved on, appreciate Baker for what he did in 2018 and 2020 (he's had 2 good years, 2 bad years) and are simply ready for him to be on a different team. It's just about being over all the drama. So every time you see him on the front page of ESPN talking about how he was backstabbed, the Browns did him wrong, etc., it just reignites the drama and we're over it.
As to your point about Baker "completely revitalizing the team," I'd disagree with that take. He was good enough to take advantage of a team/system that set him up to win.
PFF ranked the Browns' offensive line the best in the NFL by a lot with both run blocking and pass blocking in 2020 (his best year by a mile), which almost never happens. He has had elite RBs around him for years, helping to relieve his burden and forcing teams to respect his playaction, and the Browns have tried a multitude of receivers and he hasn't gelled with really any of them.
On top of all that, the Browns have a young, talented defense with game-wreckers at every level (Myles Garrett, JOK, Denzel Ward). That defense forced four first half turnovers vs. Pittsburgh in Baker's one playoff win. I'd say that contributed to the victory more than just a little.
Bottom line, Baker is good enough if you want to hover around .500 and win a playoff game or two. You aren't challenging the conference with him though. And he gets *a lot* of balls batted and has a *really* hard time staying healthy. Don't get me wrong, he's tough. He'll play through pain. But you aren't going to get the best out of your QB if he is constantly nursing injuries.
