Since 'Kill Bill', Tarantino's films have been pastiche of 1960s-1970s cinema. The visual style (cinematography and set design) strongly suggests this. But here, they seem more authentic. I mean, I've only seen the 60s and 70s through the screen, so I could be wrong. I do believe, though, that this film has the finest cinematography and set design in his filmography.
Even Jackie Brown embodies an era of cinema, the era of blaxploitation films in the seventies, which dealt with stories based on being black-skinned heroes and having a special style in it in terms of music, lighting, atmosphere and the repetition of some colors such as brown, white and blue
This movie defies the audience's expectations. It essentially has no plot, just a bunch of random skits. It's a movie you have to be patient with or you won't understand its beauty. It's a great film, maybe not Tarantino's greatest but it's up with Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs.
I think the lack of story really kills it for most people. I know I was taken aback because of the lack of plot when I first saw it. But I enjoyed it. And I think there is no denying that the cinematography is amazing
@@younghex9577 definitely. Then again you realize Tarantino is not known for having traditional plots in his films. I would say his last three films have a basic linear plotline.

We need to appreciate the fact that this film having the two best actors and one of the best filmmakers ever lived up to the hype and the expectations. This was probably the most anticipated movie for me in my lifetime and I was not disappointed in the slightest. Movies like this rarely come around nowadays.. Instant classic that will only get better with time
The hype for the ending and the satisfaction of the outcome of this movie keeps on the fire of my passion for cinema in general and Tarantino's work in the future. Can't wait for his last movie, then after that , the novels that he might publish.
Very nice use of clips showing off the beautiful set design and cinemaphotography work in this film. 2019 has been a good year for big films. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and The Irishman in the same year. I still actually prefer the Tarantino film over the Scorsese film this time. Absolutely loved this film.
This is an underrated masterpiece, and I love that twist at the end. The killers and up getting killed it really does justice to everyone that was murdered that night.
after watching this film, my desire to go back in time increased even more. they seemed simpler times, my grandparents already said that. it may be quite boomer to be nostalgic (and i'm only 17), but i would really change today to live in a simpler time.

Ever since the movie came out and i finished watching it, I couldn’t help but recommend it to literally everyone i knew and couldn’t stress it enough how incredible it was
Yes it was best movie of 2019 and Ford vs Ferria second best for Oscars !!!
I'm guessing y'all have not seen Parasite
It's a shame you have no idea what the word "literally" means.
H. Ar. Meh
This is one of the best films made in the last decade and only people who know movies can understand this. Why are so many people surprised that others think its boring and cant understand the movie lol. They are the same people who look at their phones and get enjoyment watching reality television and listening to people pretend they sing and make their own music. The production of this film will go down as the most underrated film in history almost. At least top 10. The acting was ridiculous. And the work Q did to tie in the story lines is legendary. It will be studied by film makers and students for the next decade. Whats amazing more than anything is that most people even those who love the movie miss the 2 scenes that basically are the dullest, and quietest, with nothing happening in them provide incredible film making stories that set up true and what could have been moments in real life. People can watch the movie 1000 times and might never catch it. But the camera work that Q did and the actors did it in a way that only certain people who study film can pick up.
A master class director with a legendary cinematographer ❤️❤️
Really really love this video. Don't know what it is, but the music just seems to match the shots so so well.
That shot at 1:26 is one of my favorites, the old West being left behind, whilst the youth lead the way into the future
Brilliant video. Thank you for uploading
Awesome editing. I feel like I watched the movie all over again and at the same time gained a new appreciation for so much of the cinematography that I missed the first time around. The music too is a perfect fit for this film, well done.
Yes this movie definitely is a personal one for me as well. coming from a 10 yr old in 1969 it seemed like a perfect time in this country. it was nice not having to truly understand all the bad going on.
This is probably my favourite video on this channel.
I have been re-watching it for almost a week now.
Tarantino Films are probably the best way to learn about geometric shots
Heisenberg II and Wes Anderson ones too 😉
Don’t forget about Kubrick!
I keep upping the ante with other directors, but you might want to watch some Polanski. And that is no accident.
Wells and Hitchcock, the pioneers of the art form....
for the students in film study class.

Cant stop watching this movie! So good!
My favorite movie of all time!
The same DP, so nothing you experienced was accidental.
costuming was wonderful as well.
Even Jackie Brown embodies an era of cinema, the era of blaxploitation films in the seventies, which dealt with stories based on being black-skinned heroes and having a special style in it in terms of music, lighting, atmosphere and the repetition of some colors such as brown, white and blue
Cinematically cinematic, beautiful & perfectly orchestrated feature presentation, thank you !
I loved this picture! I went on "senior" day. Not a person under 65 and we ALL cheered.
Same experience for me!! I thought only us oldsters actually remember all this. Whatever. GREAT movie!!
One of my New Absolute Favorites. Thank you Quintion for the fairy tale ending.
This is a hot take but i think its one of his bests, it has more human emotion than his recent films
@@andresnavarro5978 Much more and that is his greatest virtue.
@@Shah-of-the-Shinebox how many years you did in the can Phil?
Its like live for 03 hours in 1969. Perfect movie. I love.
In several shots of this film Brad Pitt was a dead ringer for Robert Redford.
Oh c’mon👎🏻 One Redford, sorry.
Yes he has always had an uncanny resemblence...
check out the 2001 movie Spy Game and you'll realize you might just be the very last person on earth to ever realize that.
This such an underrated movie.
Such a legendary portrayal of 60s Hollywood
Gary Nelson it’s a movie, you’re allowed to make some things up
So beautiful
Masterpiece
I waited for this video from the day I watched in theater. Thanks a lot for this beauty video. Hope it be nominated for best cinematography, but Joker will win the best cinematography or 1917
Joker, or maybe the new mallick?
Joker deserves the win I saw it in 70mm and I am not lying I was blown away with the cinematography
The Beauty Of maybe, everything is possible in the oscars, maybe Parasite or The Lighthouse, or JOJO Rabbit ... there’s so many beautiful movies this year
I really love this movie, but I didn’t like the Sharon Tate cinema scene, but I really love it 9.8/10 Masterpiece, I’m a Tarantino fan since 2005
Yuvraj Singh Grewal meh the joker overall performance was world class , he did the best he could with a really bad script ! The story wasn't great thought , the script is very limited , sometimes it fears like an mental health trailer and that's sucked ! Joaquin is mind blowing . But it's not a film of the yeah contender and far from it !

I totally agree! Since the cinema release I have seen it more than 6 times and it just doesn't get boring.. It's incredible and also pathetic that the most people just don't get it.
We need to appreciate the fact that this film having the two best actors and one of the best filmmakers ever lived up to the hype and the expectations. This was probably the most anticipated movie for me in my lifetime and I was not disappointed in the slightest. Movies like this rarely come around nowadays.. Instant classic that will only get better with time
Dude!!! This was a really good movie. I mean, it isn't my favorite of Tarantino, but it was great!!!
😎
The hype for the ending and the satisfaction of the outcome of this movie keeps on the fire of my passion for cinema in general and Tarantino's work in the future. Can't wait for his last movie, then after that , the novels that he might publish.
Very nice use of clips showing off the beautiful set design and cinemaphotography work in this film. 2019 has been a good year for big films. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and The Irishman in the same year. I still actually prefer the Tarantino film over the Scorsese film this time. Absolutely loved this film.
This song was used so perfectly in the movie (and of course in this video!), set the tone for the whole thing and really made the movie
This is an underrated masterpiece, and I love that twist at the end. The killers and up getting killed it really does justice to everyone that was murdered that night.
California dreamin song I expected. But this was more beautiful and emotional
Ahh Tarantino and his feet... 😂😂 honestly thought this film was really enjoyable, one of his best even in my opinion.
That's right 😂
but all Tarentinos films are basically the same...same style over and over..
Michelle Regis i respect your opinion but I personally love his style.
@@michelleregis6181 yeah really, so monotone,i can't find one difference between this and kill bill, it's beyond me
@@marcogianesello6083 for real? No difference?
perfect song & perfect scene editing
This like a new Grand Theft Auto trailer. Love it
I was most def. havin a GTA vibe during all the car scenes.
Thanks for this. Thanks for all other videos too. Just thanks.
The Beauty of Brad Pitt
I've seen this film five times and still am astounded by the genius....always seeing something new
the mural of James Dean in Giant was BRILLIANT
One of my favourite channels out there. Keep going💫
I swear all the best movies of this year were set in the past. All of them!!
That's because our present is so goddamn shitty.
Peg202 XO 🤧🤧
Parasite?
Beautiful cinematography by legendary cinematographer, Robert Richardson
This will obviously land on The Oscars. I'm sure it will.
Such a stunning film ❤️🔥
Tarantino 's best film
after watching this film, my desire to go back in time increased even more. they seemed simpler times, my grandparents already said that. it may be quite boomer to be nostalgic (and i'm only 17), but i would really change today to live in a simpler time.
Im fucking proud of myself to see this film on cinemas
this movie is so perfect, i saw 5, 6 times and i cant stop... the vibe, is so perfect, the soundtrack, the weather, just so good... i love it
The long take sequence on the Hollywood loft; Cliff vs Bruce Lee 🔥 the definition of
Old vs New Hollywood industry; and the opening sequence, in theaters for 35mm I was bouncing my feet to the beat
Master class of a film. Saw it 3 times at the flicks,, each time it gets better and better.
The Beauty Of Jason Bourne
Too much shakycam
I'm so glad that I watched this movie in theatres, especially since it was the last screening in town
Once upon a time is how Tarantino wanted late 60's Holywood to be
In time this will be considered his best work. The very final scene is the best he has ever made. Magical.
Hope Quentin gets best director for this one.
One of my favorites in a minute
If this movie doesn't win BEST PICTURE OF THE YEAR, I'm going to die.
Don't!
Parasite and the Irishman are slightly better but I'd be happy if this wins nevertheless.
Brick Bar Films It was a phenomenon for me to see this particular film at least 8 times and especially in Tarantino’s New Beverly Cinema theatre. To see it in connection with his other films, this movie delighted me. It was funny and quotable.
@@dottiedogdiscovers Yeah but its not the best of the year.
Brick Bar Films that’s to be determined... Scorsese versus Tarantino. Yikes.
Absolutely gorgeous. It has such original Taranto-esque frames and shots that really bring the films dialogue and cinematography together beautifully.
Finally a movie worth owning.
What a masterpiece...
Beauty of The House that Jack Built
Beauty of Parasite
Beauty of Godzilla King of the Monsters
Beauty of Citizen Kane
Beauty of Ed Wood
You’re editing is just perfectly perfect!
Thought this was an analysis.
I could watch them just driving around talking and listening to music all day long, feels like you’re being transported back in time
