I'm constantly astounded by how much Krita has to offer especially considering that it is an open-source software.
(also this man needs to be protected at all costs, he's helping me learn so many things and he's too precious whenever he talks about art)

I literally JUST downloaded krita today and i love it, ive been wanting to find an app like this, most people dont use krita because they find it complex, while i do agree i think its not as they make it to be, well, i guess they get intimidated by all the buttons but thats reasonable though, anyone can learn this if they try hard enough, you need to give your time to it, I'm so glad i discovered this, i had been using ibispaint before and as much as i like it i did wanna move onto something more complex and more professional, i think? At first i did get worried that maybe i might not be able to use this but after watching your videos i feel better and im trying to get used to this app and i think ill be using it alot, thank you for making these videos and hopefully more people get to know about this app and start using it because i think this app is amazing and its all free too, everything is so well thought and it literally has everything, you literally couldnt ask for a better drawing app than this

Really, REALLY like the content/ info you provided. Love the brush making and how easy it is to create papers. I am equally interested on both. I am a Corel painter guy but it is an ongoing expense. I am familiar with the techniques, but terminology is different so I struggle to find where I need to go to make the papers and the changes to the brushes. I really appreciate your video(s)!

This is great for beginners, but it's even better for people switching over. I've been in Photoshop for 25 years, and I've been working professionally in games for 15 years. Just with this one video, I'm already good to go on brush creation and modification. But I also get some useful quick tips for non-destructive editing, AND those tips transfer right into work for game development and general 3D. Beyond that, some of this stuff works way better than it does in Photoshop!
Great to have alternative choices that are not only free... but improve upon the original in their own ways, and circumvent shoddy practices like AI integration.
Thanks for the great video !

I'm so glad you're doing a series on brushes! I'm more excited about having the editor and engine explained, rather than existing default brushes, because someone who understands the editor will have no trouble understanding how the default brushes function, but it doesn't work the other way around.
A humble request: could you also explain saving custom brush sets and sharing them across two different computers? I tried to transfer my setup and couldn't do it, I found it too confusing.

Awesome Video, Ramon! I would really like to see a breakdown of some specific kinds of brushes, so as to more understand their behaviour. I am thinking about a watercolor brush, a charcoal/chalk brush, a pattern brush, etc. Perhaps you could demonstrate how you created some brushes you have made. I also would be interested to know, how the brush tip can be best generated. What resoltion and image format is best for quality and performance. Texture is also quite a big topic, especially the more advanced options with blending modes and double brush. I would love to see a more advanced session on that alone. Thanks for making this lovely video!

I have come into digital art late in life after a stroke ended my career. I still love learning new skills ( and brush creation is a skill). Krita ( and Blender) are Godsends allowing me to interact at my own pace.
Future requests - Information on the effects of filters to achieve a less "cartoony" and more antique or subtle effect for the image as a whole. More Videos on selections within the image and manipulations of the selections; fade ins and fade outs, feathering.

one thing I would like for you to discuss on brush creation is the "curve calculation mode" I assume that will apply/stack settings but sadly I don't see this happening. Like let's take a brush that has some random value variation. I would like to modulate that based on speed. Logically I assume that if I "multiply" the speed curve/value with the random curve/value, I would get the result I want, yet I usually get horribly skewed result.

woah, didn't expect you guys to answer on my comment
just generic flat brush that doesn't react with tilting feature of the tablet
I missed having none of that stuff(or I am maybe just disorganised and didn't found it anywhere) - so I finally made it myself using this guide

ok, sorry for delay. The easiest way, You can select Basic 2 Round brush, and go to the brush editor and go to brushtip option on the left of the brush editor and then select Auto category and there select ratio and reduce to the amount you want.

Wow, thanks for this tutorial, its amazing the flexibility Krita has, but I have a question. How can you create diferent brush tips from scratch, and add them in the option or load the so in the moment you create a new brush there appears the new texture tips to create the new brush.?

Thank you for the tutorial! But for the life of me, I still can't figure out how to make rake brushes, not even the basic ones. I tried researching online and I couldn't find any clear/understandable answers, as I'm still quite a newbie to Krita. I tried looking for brush packs but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for, which is basically just a brush that can draw multipe parallel straight/curved lines. By any chance do you have any rake brush packs perhaps?

Nice! Could a specific guide to blending brushes be made sometime in the future too? Stuff like how they work with the two modes (dulling and smear), how patterns and sensors work...
I've personally always struggled to understand it completely and never managed to make a brush that can have 100% solid color and edges at peak pressure, but have it mix colors without noticeable edges at low pressure. (smear makes the brush too airbrush-like, dulling makes it always have noticeable edges when blending, etc). It's pretty much the end-all for my workflow but for now I have to keep switching brushes.

In Krita 5.2.1, Brush Option Slider 4 is a duplicate of Brush Option Slider 3. They both control Flow. Nothing else. And sliding 4 changes 3. Sliding 3 changes 4.

    • @KritaOrgPainting
      @KritaOrgPainting  ปีที่แล้ว

hmm, did you know that you can change them? there is a triangle on the side of each slider, you press it and then press the plus icon on the desired one. Done. Are you referring to that?
