You're the only one I know to actually show real life situations when testing lights and even give DP tips, that's fantastic. 9 min video, I learned something AND I want to get one of those :-D Thanks!
Dude! I first got into you because of your amazing location videos featuring extreme gimbal moves. But I have now been equally impressed by your cool lighting tricks. Thanks for another year of awesomeness! 😀🕺🏻🎥🏖🇦🇺
I've been constantly thinking about how to create a realistic sunlight look in studio. This is exactly what I am look for. Thank you for making this and sharing it!
Great review and BTS of practical use Brandon. Loved the 3 mirror setup. Brilliant. I might give a few of these a try with my Stella Lights. Too invested in the system to switch. Might want to give those a review if you haven't already. But the Nanlite has them beat on the variable Fresnel with no doubt. Can't beat a good inexpensive Fresnel these days.
Man you are a magician with lighting tricks here. Great video! I'm also looking to buy either the Forza 300 or 500, not sure which one I need yet, I do tech product photo/videos.
If you’re not working against natural light (no windows that you need to compete with) then you don’t need the most powerful lights. So probably 300 would be fine
Fantastic results with the lighting, just goes to show its not just the power but the creativity that helps use the light in the best way. What I did like was the mirrors which I've used before but like that you used smaller mirrors like the cine reflect system I think also the subtle camera movements you made to some of the scenes at the end of the character movement that was a nice touch to add a tiny bit more interest. Quality work. I need to up my game lol
WOW what an amazing video . When I 1st watch I thought i was watching An advert. so well made my friend. amazing Video my friend Thanks for sharing Love and Light Sarah and Glenn
Great, I love their new all in one designs. I don’t know if fs300 has the same COB size/distance as Forza so you might not get perfect results with FL20G fresnel.
I wouldn’t recommend in a small room, no. You can hear the fan (it’s like a small desk fan set on medium or high). There’s many silent lights that are nearly as bright.
Love your content man! One thing that I found distracting was that when you were showing the differences (eg. @ 2:12) I had to keep going back and forth to see more of the difference because the cut was too quick and the dip to white fade made it difficult to distinguish what I was supposed to see. Maybe just me but I thought I'd just point that out. Otherwise, I really dig what you do and get a ton from your content! Thank you thank you thank you!
just as the 600d pro comes in to steal the brightness crown haha. Im a fan of Nanlite I own the pavotubes, the 300 and 500 but for a bit more the 600d pro is light years ahead in almost every way. That aside thanks for all the samples on usage, super helpful.
Once Aputure 600d release. That light will out shine this. I consider getting this light until I heard Aputure 600d going release soon. Good light, thnx for the video.
Hi Brandon! Do you offer a money-back-guarantee on your film school? I am very hyped of your videos, bun don’t know if your style is right for me yet... Best, moritz
If it’s far away and you shine it through a window you should get a pretty realistic sun look. I don’t know how bright it will be though. The advantage of fresnel lenses is being able to throw a long distance and keep the brightness.
Great Review Brandon! Will you also make one on the new Aputure 600D? I have a shoot on the weekend where I want to create evening sun or moonlight with my 300D ii, but we can only use the balcony next to the window to put up the c-stand. Also I don’t have a frenel attachment and could only use the reflector that comes with the light :( do you think I can still make it work?
Yeah I’d love to review the 600d when it’s available. For your situation the 300d reflector will create a double shadow. Maybe you could bounce it into a large silver reflector for a smoother light quality
@@BrandonLiUnscripted thanks for the advice! I will try that. I also thought about taping a thin diffusion material on the outside of the window in order to soften up the light, hopefully one solution works out ✊🏻
Hey! Awesome video! I also have a forza 500 but the fans are sooooo loud i had it next to the 300dii and it was just crazy loud is yours also as loud ? even when i turn off the lights fan the fan of the power supply is unusably loud for interviews

Yes! His channel deserved so much more love, it's incredible.
Andrew is awesome
@@silversulu agreed! he is creating a very valuable resource
Hey Brandon can you try out fujifilm xt200. I know you're a sony guy but i wanna know from your perspective.
That living room scene with the mirrors was brilliant. Never would have thought of that.
Ok the blowing trees infront of mirror was such a simple addition but totally sold the look for me, will definitely have to implement that!
Wow its crazy to see how bright this light is. Thanks for spending your time to make this content for us. Really appreciate it.
Oh, mamma. I have the Nanlite Forza 60 and I'm really happy. I hope to have one of these 500 in the future. Great light!
You're the only one I know to actually show real life situations when testing lights and even give DP tips, that's fantastic. 9 min video, I learned something AND I want to get one of those :-D Thanks!
This is the type of content that makes you wait for each notification bell to pop at your phone .. THANK YOU
This is the best light I've used for personal shoots and it doesn't break the bank!
Hey man thank you so much for this video! You just blew my mind with some of these ideas!! Awesome!!
You're very good at creating a warm atmosphere.
Thanks for sharing Brandon Li, always learn a lot from you!!! 💙
Glad you love it Brandon!

you're such an inspiration. making simple videos spectacular!
Amazing! I had no idea such realistic artificial ‘daylight/sunlight’ was possible
Brilliant video, love how you get the different lighting effects, something else I have learned, thank you.
I've been constantly thinking about how to create a realistic sunlight look in studio. This is exactly what I am look for. Thank you for making this and sharing it!
Thanks! The main factor is moving the light as far as possible
Absolute chad of a man

Another great educational and beautifully shot video!
This kind of review I like the most. Thanks a lot!
Top quality content right here! Thanks Brandon for teaching us

I just ordered Nanlite FS-300 (pre-order) and FL-20G. Hope I can get similar look.
Great, I love their new all in one designs. I don’t know if fs300 has the same COB size/distance as Forza so you might not get perfect results with FL20G fresnel.
Freaking brilliant man. The 'daytime' lighting setup shot at night in your living room looked absolutely perfect.
really practical video thanks
awesome lightning skills man!
This is awesome. Way better than the “how bright is it” reviews you typically see.
Thank you! Great stuff!
I missed you Brandon and Kobe! ❤️
Great use of the mirror! Enjoyed the video.
This is just wow, never thought could creat such a great daylight look at night time. Superb product and awesome demonstration. 👍
Enjoyed it, thanks!
I can buy only one : Forza 300 b with soft box 120
Or Forza 500 regular ( no soft box ) ?
Help ! And thank you .
Awesome video. Great light review with great cinematography. Would you say this light is useable for interviews in smaller rooms given it’s fan noise?
I wouldn’t recommend in a small room, no. You can hear the fan (it’s like a small desk fan set on medium or high). There’s many silent lights that are nearly as bright.
@@BrandonLiUnscripted Which silent lights are you referring to?
Nice piece....
Can you tell from where you got the small mirror attachments mounted on light stand. Amazing review!
Target :-)

good job, bro) thx)
Great video, always, what a Light, beautiful
I hope you can go back soon to your world traveler adventures. But I'm loving the lighting MacGyver in you this pandemic brought out.
couldnt agree more
Amazing! I’m inspired 👍🏾

"since this isnt star wars, im gonna need to get rid of one of the suns."

Beautiful work and video! But don’t forget that Aputure SL 600D is brighter than this one;)
Awesome 👍🏻✨👍🏻

Great job!
Just wait for the Aputure 600D being finally released tomorrow...
According to first tests it's 1 stop brighter
Or maybe godox will come up with an equivalent one, all for cheaper
@@sander1068 its price is 1 stop brighter too.
Hopefully you got the aputure 600d. I’d like to see what you do with it.
GAK ADA OBAT! 🔥
Awsome. Beautiful! Did you used 100% power in every shot, or in some cases lower percentage was enough?
Great video Brandon, thank you for the effort to put this demonstration up. Can you tell us is it flicker free?
I didn’t test high frame rates but at any normal frame rate it doesn’t flicker

the 500 IS an excellent light. Looking forward to mah 600D Pro
For fifteen hundred dollars, it should be an excellent light!!
You rock Brandon!

Good Review
Hi can you mention where you got these mirrors from?
Man this was so f-ing good. Thanks man.
That's a huge 5 in 1 reflector! Where did you find it?
Just search Amazon, they have different sizes
Great tips. I just bought an aputure nova P300c. I’m wondering how I can creat a sun type look with that. I know it’s softer

Great gear. Beautiful.
Great ideas! have you rent that gear or is it yours?
Grt footage.
GOD OF LIGHTS..
What is the round diffuser?
That aerosol can leave any residue?
Mind blowing!

I have a question, what do you do with the multiple shadows that exist in the shot like the sofa setup? or is it fine to be as is?
Pretty cool!✌️
Very Cleaver
Is this one better than aputure 300? Does add 500$ worth? I really wanna know, because this one look interesting
u are the best 😁🙏
keren banget 🔥
Just subbed.
Hey! Awesome video! I also have a forza 500 but the fans are sooooo loud i had it next to the 300dii and it was just crazy loud is yours also as loud ? even when i turn off the lights fan the fan of the power supply is unusably loud for interviews
Forza fans are kind of loud, especially compared to 300dii. But I kept the light very far from the subject so I didn’t really notice during shooting.
@@BrandonLiUnscripted thanks a lot for the answer, i was not sure if it is just mine
Can you put a soft box on it?
whether the Forza 500 was at 100% power?
How many foot-candle's does this thing put out at 10 meters.
I don’t know unfortunately. If you want the meter readings on this light, I suggest watching Gaffer & Gear’s review.
The price is insane. You can build DIY with Fresnel and decent CRI for 10% of that budget.
link?
Yea show us tutorial please!
4:20 is that crazy noise in the bottom left or am I high?
looks like a quick auto-iso shot just to show the light setup. probably why the footage doesn't look great.
Nice
But 3500 k is warm? Why do you set it
хочу такую приблуду
this is crazy...
I want that sun thank you . Haha
