S550 owner here, I am just happy Ford is still making small block v8s. Chevy discontinued the camaro, dodge discontinued challenger and charger. Outside of the mustang what’s left other than the C8 and caddy? Also keep in mind it took two yrs to crack the C8 . I understand the frustration, but if it keeps the small block around so be it
Im a 650 owner, ordered mine in January and assumed by the time it was shipped the car would be unlocked but April came and i got the car and here we are in June and still no tuning. As time goes on less people will buy them and most of us will get rid of them and grab an S550 or another brand and mod it up. Every mustang before this is unlocked so why bother locking this, your only hurting yourself and will probably be fords downfall. The New GT500 is a bust and no one can afford a GTD. Save yourself Ford dont screw your loyal clientel
The GT 500 is a GT with a Whipple and a body kit. U can make the same car with Performance Pack GT and an extra 10k for the Whipple and maybe 5k for a body kit. But they are charging way over that price point just for the name. If your ok with that then u are the typical "Shelby Guy" that they prey on.

Get’r Done Bro‼️ Hey last June I attended a Ford Engineer seminar (invitation only) where they briefed the fight with the EPA & CAFE government lawyers on the ability to tune and what the Ford engineers did to upgrade the S650 over the S550 Mustang. First (1) I learned that Ford would have never come out with Gen 4 Coyote engine and the new S650 Mustang had they (Ford) not appeased the government by producing the Mach E Mustang EV. It was the EV Mustang that provided the opportunity for Ford to go build the S650 and Dark Horse to address CAFE numbers overall. Second (2) Ford stated that they were going to release the ECU/ ECM Encryption to Whipple, RTR, Roush, Ford Performance in September of 2023. Hence we now know about the tune that is provided by Whipple when you buy the SC. Whipple partnered with VMP so that they could still sell SC kits. I believe that this is true now with RTR SC & Ford Performance & Saleen. We need to be patient because I believe the encryption is coming over the next fall/winter. Hang in there; while you wait do your garage‼️👍👊💪🇺🇸

They are supposed to lock PPL out for the first 2 years.. it's a brand new Gen.. They are already having recalls and I get it from Fords point of view.. It's only been 6 months since they have been out and Ford probably wants to know what's wrong with the cars before they start unlocking them and letting others turn them up.. They have to go through 2 years of recalls before unlocking them.. And for me honestly, I would rather have the whipple with a 93 tune than an NA E85 tune.. I've seen guy's waste $6000/$7000 on long tubes Intakes, airboxes and e85 tunes, all for 100 HP.. And then you have to play with your fuel and always be measuring the E in it.. And worst of all drive around with Blue jugs in your trunk while lying to people, "telling them you only have 89 in the Tank".......... No thanks.... I don't care if it takes me 4/5 years of saving I am getting a Whipple... And Finally Ford is expecting PPL to be smart and not Kill their warranties in the first month of ownership...
Unfortunately, I don’t think tuning for the 2024s will be available anytime soon. As far as the Whipple calibrations, keep in mind that they’re much more conservative than your aftermarket tuner calibrations. The fact that Whipple can send you a tune after installing their blower on your car, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a “good” tune compared to the Ford tuning juggernauts, such as Lund.
Okay you got a couple options here you can go straight to Ford themselves and see if you can ask them to unlock the ECU and you offer to pay for it or you can find a backyard tuner / mechanic who is willing to buy the technology to unlock the ECU and then I'd recommend taking it to a professional tuner because you're not going to find a tune online

I’m with ya brotha it’s like if you buy a computer and it comes with some apps already but you can’t down load apps for your personal preference its yours you should be able to do what you want like tune your Stang. I think when Ford builds a car it should meet all the requirements but once you buy it you should be able to tune it if that’s what you want to do

Sounds like you are calling your viewers a bunch of base model having Mustang owners who can't afford a Whipple. lol. The tuning issue is all EPA related. I'm sure Ford didn't want to do it but was getting pressure from the EPA. We need to take our grievances up with them and ensuring the EPA doesn't over reach and have too much control. This is just the start. Why not do max effort as it sits right now with the Ford tune? Get it to the track and start practicing and working on it and getting the car to perform as it sits. Why does it have to be tuned for you to see what it can do max effort with the Ford tune?
The reason Ford did this is probably pandering to the EPA, be mad at ford for bowing down, but also be mad at our government for thinking it has the power to restrict what we do with our cars, especially considering how small the performance car market is, its like a super small niche market (compared to non modified A-B drivers).
The lack of an option to build and tune NA is a big reason I don't even think about getting a Mustang newer than a 23. I can't afford to throw 12k on a mod all at once. I can do a small amount once and awhile so the lack of tuning ability takes away from joy i get from modifying my car when I can and how I want
Idk if they tunned it from factory but if you throw heads and intake and do a fbo for some reason you get around 100 hp and really opens the car up on a stock tune
I remember I also bought the bottom of the barrel Mustang because I knew I was going to touch every single inch of that vehicle from the dash to new upholster sometimes it's pointless getting a fully loaded vehicle if you're going to start swapping out tons of parts
You can get up with palm Beach dyno they can tell you how much e85 you can mix in 93 and gain another 30 hp because it will advance the timing so you will make more power check with him
As the owner of of 2 SUPER CHARGED cars I have to say you Will love it. 2003 bmw E39m5 600whp/ 2012 Audi A7 500 plus WHP. The are both really fun. You will not regret the supercharger. Trust 👍
If Ford wants to take full control while Dodge and Chevy are bowing out, open the tuning. It's simple, but then again the folks with the EPA are watching too. I was planning on picking up a Dark Horse after my wife’s car is paid off. To me it makes more sense to unlock tuning for base models that would be doing minor/more affordable mods like cold air intake or exhaust and switching to E85 for the average consumer over the occasional supercharged S650. At this point I would almost rather have a performance pack Mach 1 that has all kinds of aftermarket support over a new model that is still locked.
Hopefully they release tuning soon. Purchased my gen 3 s550 6 months ago because of the new s650 tuning issue. I was looking for purchase a dark horse but I’m leaning towards gt350 now.
My buddy has a gen 1 thats bone stock minus a catchcan and exhaust and it eats e85 on no tune… he runs 50/50 mix and it makes a little more power and doesnt sacrifice all the mileage to get it done
I grabbed one went with atlas blue space grey recaros 401a pp pe , everything but magnaride. Even the rims , for me new platform I’ll wait but willing to whipple it someday

Hey Gavin on itsjusta6 done his. You have to find a tuner to unlock it once you do you can do whatever. He running e85 in his. Hit him up ask him. He’d be willing to help you I bet. The dual throttle body’s go away when you a supercharger. Goes into 1 huge throttle body with 2 air filters.
People thought the C8 would never be tuned too, the S650 have Whipple with a tune like Whipple did with the S550s it was able to be tuned quick, so will these probably within a year because Ford wants to step up sales and the Drivetrains are proving to hold up great
They need to bring back the Ford Performance power packs like they did on the previous generations. Tune, tune with cold air, tune with cold air and throttle bodies. Something, anything!

I put a Supercharger on a 2008 GT Pearl White, CONVERTIBLE, Fake roll bar,and a Rousch Supercharger. Cars have improved so much I have a 2019 S550 Mustang GT with a Rousch True COLD AIR, American Muscle Headers*(Which I never had before) a custom zone pipe and Flowmaster "Outlaw" series PIPES, making the muscle car sound like one! Which one do you think is faster? Forgot the tune for S550 by Muffler& Auto Works in Naples. The 19 is much faster! Don't pay insane prices for a DARK HORSE OR NEW GT. THEY ARE BEGGING TO BUY MY USED '19.

Just recently picked up my own Cali special 2020 GT 10 speed in Oxford white. Love the content on the s650 it is a shame they can’t be tuned. But it seems to be a common theme among all new vehicles sadly. At least ford partnered with whipple for now so you can still make it fast 💨 but definitely agree with you that some sort of NA tune should be made available!
Hey Derek From Down Under in Australia. You are lucky in the states that you can order your mustang with all the options. I have a Dark Horse on order here in oz for over 6 months and cannot get recaros, appearance pack or the handling package. Ford are not making them in right hand drive with these options. A real bummer here we have to take what we are given oh and only 1000 dark horses coming to Australia i was lucky to get the order in. Love you vids mate. Keep up the great work and spare a thought for us here that only get the scraps from ford.🇦🇺

Hey Gavin on itsjusta6 done his. You have to find a tuner to unlock it once you do you can do whatever. He running e85 in his. Hit him up ask him. He’d be willing to help you I bet. The dual throttle body’s go away when you a supercharger. Goes into 1 huge throttle body with 2 air filters.

People thought the C8 would never be tuned too, the S650 have Whipple with a tune like Whipple did with the S550s it was able to be tuned quick, so will these probably within a year because Ford wants to step up sales and the Drivetrains are proving to hold up great

They need to bring back the Ford Performance power packs like they did on the previous generations. Tune, tune with cold air, tune with cold air and throttle bodies. Something, anything!
If you don’t wanna go whipple, I just talked to procharger a week ago and they said they will have their kit out within a month or so.
No tune though so thats pointless unless they do get tune privileges

Hey I think the tune is locked how the c8 was locked there waiting till the gtd comes out that’s what they did with the c8 when the z06 came out it was unlocked there just waiting to sell the most gtds they can
I put a Supercharger on a 2008 GT Pearl White, CONVERTIBLE, Fake roll bar,and a Rousch Supercharger. Cars have improved so much I have a 2019 S550 Mustang GT with a Rousch True COLD AIR, American Muscle Headers*(Which I never had before) a custom zone pipe and Flowmaster "Outlaw" series PIPES, making the muscle car sound like one! Which one do you think is faster? Forgot the tune for S550 by Muffler& Auto Works in Naples. The 19 is much faster! Don't pay insane prices for a DARK HORSE OR NEW GT. THEY ARE BEGGING TO BUY MY USED '19.
I agree with you completely man ford should definitely release some tunes for the n/a guys the power comes on differently and just overall they’re missing out on a pretty big chunk of consumers getting to enjoy that.

The S650 shifts so smooth and seems a bit faster than the S550 10 speed. Bolt ons and E85 would be nuts on these cars.

Just recently picked up my own Cali special 2020 GT 10 speed in Oxford white. Love the content on the s650 it is a shame they can’t be tuned. But it seems to be a common theme among all new vehicles sadly. At least ford partnered with whipple for now so you can still make it fast 💨 but definitely agree with you that some sort of NA tune should be made available!

You are lucky in the states that you can order your mustang with all the options. I have a Dark Horse on order here in oz for over 6 months and cannot get recaros, appearance pack or the handling package. Ford are not making them in right hand drive with these options. A real bummer here we have to take what we are given oh and only 1000 dark horses coming to Australia i was lucky to get the order in. Love you vids mate. Keep up the great work and spare a thought for us here that only get the scraps from ford.🇦🇺
