A path opened up and i followed it on that day
The path was overgrown and never had been tread

I was bored with the park so i stumbled back beyond the trees

Looking at the wall, there were holes about a finger tall so

So afraid, i ran until i couldn't see the sun
This unease will never cease, so i only run
I could hear a croaking toad, and started sprinting down the road
But I tripped and fell right down on the way back home

We both had decided to go see it once again
The middle of the road, was a bright traffic cone, we moved it and continued even so
Walking on down the path, as the sun began to set and then, pressing on and on until we reach the cave again
When we walked into the cave, we were warm and feeling safe but
there was an awful smell that fluttered about the space
I couldn't have seen, that a massive hole was waiting for me
And i would sink till' acid melted my bone clean)

Seemed like we were, but the first, the first who ever heard.
So i guess I'll go and see what it's about.
Although I'm scared i won't get out
The dark path had been
Like a place from my imagination
And beside it, couldn't hide it, was a sign, how delighted

This cover is so good an underrated. It’s rare that I love English covers just as much as the original.
But… while listening to this I had an epiphany. At the end it just loops when the survivor ran away but it doesn’t really explain why. I realized that the tune/main melody of this song sounds eerily similar to a train alarm going off the whole time. Not only that, but in the original there’s warning signs and it’s really just making me think of train tracks.

I kept looping this freaking song until it finally hit me.
What if the surviving character actually tripped on the train tracks on the way home, and that’s why it always loops again when they fall.
It’s literally purgatory.
The last thing they heard were the train alarms, which is why the melody in the song sounds so much like one.
Another comment because I'm addicted to this- from what I can tell, this version takes inspiration from multiple theories about Lamprey Hole and I love it.
The "falling into acid" seems to be related to the literal lamprey theory, and notice how the second singer's lines continue even when they're no longer singing at the end? It could be referencing the "endless loop" theory, where they keep reliving this event.

What’s the lamprey theory?
@@fernandaaa8520 Its the theory that the singers are plankton and they stumble on a lamprey. The warm space and awful smell, and the acid could be the lamprey.
Everything about this is perfect. I can't believe how much effort must have been put in to animate it, sing this, do the remixed melody, and just create the lyrics themselves to fit being English and all. Well done! This deserves much more attention

I love the arrangement and translyrics for this, it's just as catchy as the original. I've always interpreted this song as more of a metaphor about danger and how it can seem attractive until it turns deadly (and so the cycle shall continue), but this more literal interpretation of a lamprey is also really neat.
Also the pixel art is really cute ;o;

I thought this was a normal song until I heard the English version
color me impressed. on top of being a good cover all round the lyrics themselves fit well and actually rhyme, something most english covers lack as they just go for straight translation.
