OK. This was filmed two days after first attempt and after this we really realized that CG is way off and that was one big reason for not be able to fly this plane. We will not give up no matter what, I will fly or totaly crash this plane with two motors. I want to fly it with two motors or nothing ;-) Ofcourse I will find new CG way more to the front, I will re check motor angles, reduce throws and maybe put in the reciever with gyro just in case. To tell you the truth we cant wait to film it again ;-) I wish you all great weekend and happy landings. Dont forget to click on something becouse this is the best hobby in the world. Pilot Robert

This had me rolling. Glad Captain Blaz is alright. Same thing happened to my cousin, except when he threw his flying wing it did the same exact loop and hit him square in the lower back. He's the macho man type and played it off like it didn't hurt, but I know it had to have. I could tell by the solid thump sound it made when it nailed his back. Good times.

Forget this elevator! It’s all about CG and trim (and trows), they are vital for flying wings! As many fellow pilots said in the comments, the plane was just tail heavy on the maiden flight, but you were close! Go two steps back, shift the CG a bit more to the front, and fly it with low rates. Stay with the twin motor configuration, imho this is more stable than a pusher configuration. Good luck!
my idea exactly, by the way, my own agrressor flys very nice with the twin motor setup, and the manufacturer CoG is spot on.
Like you said. The first time it was really close. Just the CG was wrong. But I really know it now.

Man down ! When the plane came out of the loop still under full power , I knew it was curtains for poor Capt. Blaz . After the loop , the plane struck him from behind . Capt. Blaz should be promoted to the rank of major for such bravery and sacrifice . Funny as Hell .

When you first held that plane for the thumbnail it looked like an upside down duck. I used to hunt and from below ducks had that same wings swept look. But besides for the sweep there's also the push/pull from the engines. I'm sure it'd have flown with the engines in the rear pushing. The additional rear stabilizer only increased the air pushing the nose up . I laughed like hell - thanks so much for trying something and being creative. Love you guys.

I have to quit watching your videos when I first get up in the morning. I start laughing my ass off and end up waking up my wife who thinks that I am having a medical emergency. Capt. Robert, I do sincerely appreciate your tenacity and your willingness to spend the time performing a major re-design to get this bird into the air. I recommend that the next person who hand tosses for you (surely Captain Blaz is not going to do a third hand toss!) should be given some kind of suit of armouar to assure that they can survive the launch effort. I would suggest carefully checking the "angle of the dangle" on this plane before launching it again. Good luck!!!!

Blaz, i just glad brother you did not get seriously hurt because to loose an eye or something else is not a joke , and for Pilot Robert my heart goes to him for his efforts and he just wanted the bird to fly and its just NOTHING , but 10/10 for efforts and hoping the next edf version will be something , and in future the models with high power i use the discuss method grab from the wing and full power and toss like a discuss and works great every time cheers and big Salute from Australia my Petrincic Bros friends :-)))

We were lucky.
Ok I have two F-27 Evolutions from HH and it has a pusher prop in middle of rear. I glued wings on so that on 4S 2200 they dont blow off. Important to NOTE- I launch on low rates with safe select on and AS3X too buy I LAUNCH HANGING ONTO THE END OF ONE OF THE WINGS LIKE A BOOMERANG SWEEPING MOTION and it works very well and is safely away from prop!!!!! i agree with other enthusiasts put battery forward more lower the rates and throws on all movements and only use 50% of throttle too much torque on climb out at launch helps it go like tail heavy. Next time launch like a boomerang by holding the end of wing and good luck! Keep trying guys !!!!! P.S so glad Capt Blaz was not hurt as that would really suck big time! Again was funny as hell guys!!!!

Captain Robert Area 52, the battery needs to be right up towards the nose. It will fly once you do that.
This plane is so similar to the Ritewing Mini Drak and the battery goes right up the nose on that wing.

I would love to see you try a different CG - both flights really seemed tail heavy and sometimes the CG on these planes from banggood is not exactly right..
i agree, and by the way the manufacturers CoG on this bird is spot on, i have the same model, it even has moulded in CG marks on the underside of the wing, and it flys very nice ,and i also fly mine with twin motors aswell, from what i saw i would say their CoG was a bit of, and flying wings react very badly on aft CGs.
I will do that for round three.

Hey guys. I laughed so hard I nearly wet myself. I built a home design forward swept wing for slope soaring years ago and found C of G had to be waaaay forward for stability but the forward sweep helps prevent tip stall and works great. Keep at it and remember Blaz, tuck and roll, tuck and roll. Maybe invest in a crash hat too. Haha.
I really hope to get this plane in the air at the end.

Dear Capt. Robert, that was incredible! Fortunately Capt. Blaz didn't get seriously injured. And you are right, Google the CG location for this type of wings, you will be ok... I've got a few flying wings and I built two different catapults according to the size of the models, and I've never had a problem... All the best for the next time! There appear to be at least 3 aerodynamic problems with this model.
1 Forward swept wing which is known for being inherently unstable in pitch and yaw and usually requires an on-board flight controller to achieve stability by rapid computer control of flying surfaces, which can react much faster to pitch/yaw deviation than any human can, even Pilot Robert!
2 Too much fuselage area forward of the centre of pressure of the wing and centre of gravity of the aircraft. This means if the nose goes up the air hitting the underside pushes the nose up further, if the nose goes down air flow pushes it down further.
3 The Centre of Gravity is also likely to be too far back which only exacerbates 1 and 2.
If you want to get this flying it will need need a lot more weight in the nose and even then it may be unflyable without a flight controller/accelerometer/gyro.
Top marks for entertainment value! Hope Captain Blaz is OK.
Iam thinking to put more weight in the nose and use gyro at least for asist to get it in the air. It doesnt look too good at this point ;-)

Just change one thing at a time, everybody commented CG looked wrong on first flight so move that forward, reduce the throws a little and try that. You have put a lot of work into this model, don’t give up.
Looking at this flight the first one wasnt so bad. I think that really just the CG was the problem.

For this plain you need to build a take off ramp, 2ft long angled slitly up and put a long nail or something through the base of it in the ground to hold it in place. That way no worries about getting fingers hurt. It's so funny to watch the hand, but dangerous 😅

Captain Blaz is my HERO. Wounded in action even!!! Being an "old school" modeler, I suggest treating the airframe like a free flight model and getting it to glide unpowered before trying to power and control it in flight. Thats the way we did it back in the day (60 years ago) when every model was experimental. Just sayin'...
