Hands down, the greatest barn find collection ever.
On the car side yes, on the parts side no not really. You would be shocked on how much of that stuff is sitting in junk yards everywhere because the junker won't part with it for a fair price. Yes even the "rare" stuff that isn't as rare as you think because of yards like this hoarding it.
Speechless… insane collections
Jaw dropping wow on every piece. I'm sure each item will have a new life and that's awesome.
I agree
Crazy how much work has to be done to even what work what each part is and sell it will be, will be great to see them restored
So much beautiful junk...
Yea but the good cars are really good and special and the parts are NOS
Some men are just visionary, he was a parts dealer but look how many special cars he saved, Rj in Oz
Thanks for another great tour and sharing the wisdom! This auction should be awesome to watch!
I used to go to this wrecker in '99 to early 2000's. It's in Watts near the projects and I always wanted to get in and outta there in a hurry. Bought mostly Porsche parts from Rudi until his son Bengi took over after he passed away. There was definitely cheaper parts sources for Porsche's than here, in the San Fernando Valley. They always wanted absolute top dollar for everything. I do regret not shelling out $90k to get one of the complete 300SL's though when Ben offered it to me for that. Back then a restored one didnt sell for a whole lot more than that, maybe $140-$150K so it seemed like an awfully high price at the time.
Amazing memories. Thank you for sharing!
@@PetersenMuseum You're welcome. Love your museum, went there many times when I lived in LA.
Most would've called it junk, useless, etc. I would like to THANK Mr. Klein for his gift of FORESIGHT!
Once the sale has transpired, hopefully he's looking down at it in approval. And then we can appreciate a line from a famous movie, "Not so crazy as you look." (Meant in great respect for Mr. Klein)
Absolutely amazing!❤ So many possibilities with each car body & part on the shelf
Can’t wait to see the final prices for which these valuable cars will sell.
Just awesome.
Mind blowing jewels!! what a visionary man!. It was hard to see the mutilated, dismembered 330 GT ...or what is left I should say
It's a wonderful place for the motor cars lovers
I’m here for part two!
Hi!
1:47 ... love the "original" paw prints
See time 1042 for the culprit. . .
@@bobroberts2371 lol
There were so many cats and the car they like the most was the silver Audi in part 1
What kind of camera was used for these videos? Very clear video quality!
Sony FX3 with Sony 24-70 f2.8 lens.
Drone is DJI
A bunch of 300sl 1950s Mercedes parts in original boxes is insane. That 356 Porsche has 700 original miles on it wth😳$$$$
I’m not sure if I’m in shock of joy, anger or sadness…
A collection of once great cars, that for the common man, sadly just rust buckets beyond dreams.
That would have taken 50 lifetimes to work on all those cars.
What a dream, i hope the parts get used to keep cars alive or if they are really rare you can make a good reproduction now.
Magnus Walker just did a run through of this place if you want to see even more. I swear if I could buy the whole place I would build a home right in the center of it and just walk around and take in all the history everyday
Totally ignoring the rare Facel Vega is a crime. One of the rarest in the hangar
@@kyliandc9276 apologies. Also, not the rare if the valuation is 20k. Nevertheless time was tyrant.
Yeah, I was surprised too, that he did not mention it...
@@Zero2Niero You mean 200 k I hope, for a rare convertible.
@@marcmatthieu1939 the site says estimate 20 to 30k. I don’t know why. I confess i am totally IGNORANT but when filming we didn’t have much time left and i decided to skip it
@marcmatthieu1939 @kyliandc9276 @francoisvignaud9562 Vega sold for 32k. The BMW for 156, the Iso for 1.8mil and so forth. We apologize we didn't have time to cover the Vega but...
Field of faded dreams!
Literally a testament to how dangerous rear engine cars are……
Mostly, it makes me cry....
I don’t understand how someone who appreciated and collected such rare cars would allow them to deteriorate in such conditions.
👍👍
M Walker also recently posted a wonderful video of Rudi's Junkyard/collection. Great stuff!
There is some really good stuff there and the parts
Is it all going for auction
Will all the parts be auctioned? It would take days or only the cars?
@@marcoh.6345 i think the parts will go in bulks.
Tomorrow!
Merak is a star not a wind.
You are correct. Apologies for the mistake.
👏👏👏
I have how these things go down before the mostly intact stuff goes for what you think it would be priced at. The rest go to the furnace for pennies on the dollar. No one cares to go through parts, and figure what goes to what, and put money and time into finding the right buyer which most likely does not exist. In the end it is always just easier in the end to just put it in a container move it to a furnace, and melt it down.
There is some truth in that. We hope everything will be sold and have a new life somewhere else!
I can believe that place exist from España Europa
Seeing is believing!
So cool can I buy Lambo miura for my project car?
Tomorrow!
Is that a Facel Vega in the barn??
Yes!
You didn't say anything about the Jensen!
Time was limited. We are sorry!!!!
What is going to happen to the property??? I assume it will be sold as well. Car hoarders are the worst. He could of done something with all that stuff and pocketed the money. Instead he's dead and thankfully the stuff gets sold, and more importantly used or put back on the streets.
@@paulwortman483 i think the narrative is incomplete because not relevant to the trove. This place was 10 times bigger in the 80s according to rumors. . Klein in his life time bought and sold 75 gull wings according to his son. Son said it was 4 times bigger. Nevertheless he sold the majority while alive in the 90s and no one cared for Porsche. So if no one cared for running Porsches you can imagine for wrecked ones.
He had a dog to sic people if they wandered on the property. I'm sure he sold some stuff, but I'm sure it came out of his mouth, " I ain't selling that, I'm gonna work on that next".
I only hope that people can get parts for a reasonable price. Most of all this stuff is junk , yes it’s junk from prominent cars , but junk is junk. Each car from this yard needs a full restoration before it can be used or hidden in a private collection. The only people that make the most out of this are the auction houses. They will produce a mega hype in advance to get the potential buyers showing up at the auction and pay moon prices for the rusty metal. Wish them all best of luck. 😊😊😊
I don't disagree, but to be fair, there are considerably more legitimately restorable cars and usable parts here than what was shown in Part One.
@@welles28there you go! It was just a matter of being patient. Glad you stuck around bud and thank you for watching.
I mean, Ferrari junk will always beat Ford junk but yes some will be garden art.
Some of the rarer parts that are beyond salvage could still be used as templates to manufacture new pieces!
It's NOT junk if you need/want it.
Lol that's like 500 headaches
Who cares about the BMV, show us the Facel
You are not alone. We feel bad!
Small correction: the Alfa Romeo Montreal was introduced at Expo 67 in Montreal, and not named for the Olympics nine years later.
Thank you so much for the note. Apologies for not fact checking it. I guess Leslie got confused with eh Montreal Expo. Still a mistake but I would say confusing that Alfa Romeo kept that name, just not in line with their nomenclature.
Being from Montreal, I jumped out of my seat hearing that !! Thanks for the correction.
Totally right. Thank you for being nice about it. We alway love to get it right. Sometimes we don't. Cheers to you!
BMW did the Isetta....maybe as a joint venture with Iso...but this Iso must be rare and nice)
@@marcoh.6345 ISO made it in 53. BMW made it under license and pretty much kept only the design it’s in the name Isetta, little iso in Italian. The one here is a prototype so as rare as a 1 of 1 can be!
Pas un mot sur la FACEL cabriolet , petit constructeur Français ??
why you skipped that 356 carrera gt like nothing 😢😢😢
Where? When?
Beautiful trash😢
Another man's treasure.
Didn’t Rudi died decades ago?
Yes, he left us in the early 2000s
Aaaaaaaand now Recaro is bankrupt
Sadly...
Ask yourself what is more important, the narrator or the music he is competing with?
@@bobroberts2371 certainly not this comment. Thanks for watching anyway.
Yeah another video lathered in utterly irrelevant music. It does nothing for the vid but people seem to think it is the thing to do. I don't know why.
@@ralphmillais5237 The music seems to be upscale classical / opera that would appeal to the well healed. It would be OK between shots of the narrator but needs to go away when he is talking.
