  • =============Polite notice, this video was filmed before the current close season==============
    On the 22nd of February I headed out on what would be a bitterly windy day
    to fish a handful of swims in search of perch. I was starting to wonder and question my sanity about heading out for this fishing trip when a rather large (7lb) chevin would rescue what was a tough trip.
    Bait - Air injected worms
    Rod - Darent valley 8 foot specialist
    Reel - Goture 500GTS

      Heya Barry! Cheers man! Yes it is actually a nice mixed section, just as you approach the split on the point it becomes semi canalised river, perhaps overly managed by canal rivers trust,but where dont they destroy and overly prune where boats are involved, as usual anglers and fish habitat are a long way down their list!

      @@francolinobasco Not so good. I suffer with IBS from time to time. I've never managed to find out what actually triggers it, but when it flares up I take Mebeverine for two or three days and usually it calms down again. I have found that cutting down my sugar intake has reduced the number of flare ups I have. Hope you get over this, I know difficult it can be just to function normally with stomach and bowel pains.

      @@francolinobasco When my IBS staarted about 5 years ago, it was more like acid reflux and quite often had to try and sleep in an upright position. It absolutely drained me of energy, so I used to take Omeprazole. Not sure if it was the tablets or the acid reflux, it used to depress the hell out of me but I do manage to control things better now. I find getting a good nights sleep is the key to controlling it, and a regular eating pattern.

    Awesome fish...after an endurance day...I find that chub in such wintery conditions can give the most super tentative of bites...I kinda surprised a wary big chub took a suspended worm....but then there we are.....

    • @francolinobasco
      @francolinobasco  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Hayden, to be fair i have had nothing but good bites on the air injected worms, I think the added lift and wafting about over any river debris makes a difference.

    I knew some older guys when I was younger that used to air inject the worms ( night crawlers as we call them) they were using, the largemouth bass used to love them as well as everything else too. You used to be able buy a worm injection kit that was a lot safer than a hypodermic needle, some of the big chain sporting goods stores used to have them, like Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas, etc., I guess you can probably still get those, online too at one of those sites…?!? Just a thought mate, and for anyone else, wouldn’t want to see anyone have an accident or something, you know? Anyhow, absolute fantastic trip mate or session I mean. You take care of yourself my friend, hope you’re feeling better by now. Doug., PS - that’s a good looking jacket you have on there, what’s that say, Carpkinetics? Cool
