What excites me most about the Twig is that it will attract eco-concerned people to wetshaving. The bigger the community, the better. And I love that opening mechanism. Gets that head out of the way for loading.

Gillette Double Edge Safety Razor and Gillette Heritage Double Edge Shaving Razor and a Merkur Mk34c I would like your and your viewers thoughts about my purchases. You sir have earned yourself a new sub and i will watch the rest of your videos you do a A+++ job on making a black and white no B.S channel and throw a few cuss words in to keep it real good job man.
Hi Ken Great shave as always. Picked up the twig. Loaded with wilkinson sword classic half blade. Topped off with cc venture soap..balm..aftershave...cola 22mm yaqi brush and copper cc bowl. Superb shave like a babies bum. Fantastico.
For blades, Razor Emporium has much better pricing than WCS. And a better selection, too, I believe. The Egyptian blades are made by Lord, who also makes Shark. I know you know this. I'm saying it for others that read the comments. Great review of the Twig razor! Thank you!

I received my Twig razor today. I used an Astra blade since I had already broke it in half and I didn't know they would send a few of theirs with the razor. I think it gave me a pretty good shave. Only negative thing was I had to fool with the head a little to get it to sit even on the blade. At least the one I received when I screwed the head down on to the blade it was not sitting straight across the blade. So I had to hold the head so that it came down even across the blade. Normally, I wash off the blade after each shave, but since I got it lined up I didn't mess with the razor when I finished.

After seeing one of your videos I decided I had to try the safety razor, the multi-blade was killing my face and I had started to shave less and less and have a scruffy face. I decided the die was cast I had to change ..... I have a safety razor the king c gillette a brush and a good shaving cream and after seeing many of your videos I started, initially I encountered difficulties but the difference with the multi-blade was huge it led me to continue a world opened up for me Today I can say I shave every day a face that is always clean ... and this thanks to you thanks also from my wife. 😄👌

I bought one and have been delighted with it! It's great under the nose and a very smooth shave. It's mildish and I'd say similar to the 34C. The only thing that confused me, is as you say the reverse twist to lift the cap. I'd highly recommend it and have enjoyed the shaves it's given me. Thank you for enabling me... ;)

Before that comment gets lit up.. someone else in the past has done the bizarre opening before. I cant remember who but not many people do it.. it wasn’t exactly the same just something bizarre like the leafs opening

Love my Leaf razor for face shaving, just a little difficult under my nose because beard grows nearly up my nostrils, so I just use any handy DE to touch up under nose. Looking forward to receiving my Twig soon. I love the fact that there is no requirement for proprietary blades, which has put me off a number of other SE razors. Keep safe mate.
I got Twig through Kickstarter. Really like it for a SE (from 1/2 DE) that’s easy to load using magnet and “spinning butterfly” open and close. A very innovative razor and economical and ecological. Btw, the Leaf is my SO’s favorite for shaving her legs but takes quite a bit more fiddling to load the 3 1/2 blades so usually load it for her since she’s not fond of the fiddling but for me is part of my hobby ;-)
Thanks for all the great shaving reviews; I just got back into wet shaving. I bought the same Twig razor for Fathers day & 2 packs of the Leaf blades. The 2nd pack is cheaper when added to the cost of the 1st pack of blades by almost $5.00. I read the Leaf blades were made in Egypt & wondered who makes them. The Twig shaves very well when compared to a Merkur 38c razor. Now I have to re-learn the art of making the shave soap with a brush. Keep up the great reviews! God bless!

This razor looks very promising to me. Before this, I was strongly considering the Razorock Lupo but this looks looks like it would handle similar to the Gillette Sensor 3 that I currently use... minus 2 blades of course. When I have the money, my plan is to get this razor and the beginner trail pack of blades from Razor Emporium since it would give me a variety of blades to try and hopefully find the best one for me. Still.... I know the Lupo and the Twig are like apples and oranges, but any thoughts would be appreciated.
Hey I live right down the road from the shop that makes that soap.. and on another note... you should try hunter 1114 shave products.. there shave cream uses 24k gold .. and their whiskey water splash .. smells amazing
For me the idea behind this razor is completely pointless to someone who abandoned cartridge razors to go to DE razors. We choose the DE razors for all the reasons the cartridge razors represent so shaving with the leaf is like going back to cartridge.

It is better to remove and clean them before second use. But I usually toss them after one shave due to the differ t items I preview on the channel. If you clean them and drop them in a little mineral oil. They last for a lot of shaves

A good addition to the Leaf Shaving line. Years ago, I bought a Leaf razor. It works well; face shaves are fast and nick-free. But it has some issues, esp. the size and weight. (I use another razor for my upper lip.) The Leaf is quite heavy, and contrary to what some have said is not much of a head shaver. If I'm in too big a hurry, it lands with a thunk on my head. And it doesn't handle clogging well. Hair gets stuck between the blades and the razor. Not good. I'm hoping the new twig will become my daily driver for both face and head.
Hi Ken! I hope everyone is well! So I am still a recent convert to SE & DE shaving (from cartridges). Dorco red package seems to work best for me but seems to be hard to find. Some have recommended Astra Green Platinum to me, but both Green and Blue cut me up. I recently tried King C blades… not bad, but not great for me either. My daily shaver is the original Twig and anyone of a few good concoctions to lather with. I am considering Derby Professional blades (w/ceramic). Thoughts? Other blade suggestions?
Everything arrived yesterday… earlier than I expected. Did my first Twig shave this morning. Went very well!! 2 minor scrapes as I went cross grain near the jaw line. No cuts! It will be interesting to see how much difference the different blades make!
I do enjoy the Twig. Going to do a comparison shave tomorrow with the Yaqi Katana as well as I have been asked about both. Check it out at BrownBag Gentleman tomorrow night.
My problem is I love the feel of cartridge razors like the handle and head but the safety razor blades do better. This twig puts those together so I need it I’m bummed it’s sold out

My daily shaver is the original Twig and anyone of a few good concoctions to lather with. I am considering Derby Professional blades (w/ceramic). Thoughts? Other blade suggestions?

Well…. It took a while, lots of questions and comments, but I finally ordered the Twig, blade sample pack, and some septic gel (just in case).
Everything arrived yesterday… earlier than I expected. Did my first Twig shave this morning. Went very well!! 2 minor scrapes as I went cross grain near the jaw line. No cuts! It will be interesting to see how much difference the different blades make!
The prototype looks great, very modern design. I dont like the definitive products look very much.

I’ve been using the Gillette King C safety razor and it’s been keeping me from getting ingrown hairs which has been my biggest issue
My problem is I love the feel of cartridge razors like the handle and head but the safety razor blades do better. This twig puts those together so I need it I’m bummed it’s sold out

How's the twig vs the 34c in terms of smoothness and efficiency?
This seemed to cut closer first pass than the 34C
