  • Transitioning my dog from kibble to a raw food diet was the best decision I ever made. My husky had skin allergies, hot spots and loose stool all the time. Now that my Siberian Husky is on a raw diet, he no longer has skin allergies and other health issues that wouldn't go away. Dogs deserve real food and they need it to thrive.

    I have a seven year old Husky, Mika, who started on kibble and instinctively refused to eat it even as a puppy. He hasn't been sick once in his life. If you think of the potential high cost of veterinary bills for medical problems caused by a sub-par diet, investing in raw food to prevent those problems is an excellent choice for overall health.
    I don't feed him store bought treats, either. I buy chicken hearts, livers, and gizzards for cheap, and dry them in a dehydrator. Along with chicken feet, they're his favorite snacks.

      @denabatt 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I thought about a dehydrator doing the same for my husky. I watched a documentary of how un-natural pet products are nowadyas making them sick and you are right it's better to feed them raw instead of paying high bills from the kibbles.

    This is fire. Love this video & got a couple ideas. I definitely have to get my Ghost some supplements to add to his food. I’m currently giving him Instinct kibble, organic chicken broth, raw egg, & raspberries at 3 months turning four. At 6 months , I’m going to transition him to a raw diet for sure.

    My main question with raw feeders is what about when you Travel with your dog? With kibble its easy to just pack a large ziplock bag in your luggage, but its not as easy with raw meat ,its more delicate and TSA ect ? Any tips from dog owners who travel with their dog ?

    • @elainelinle
      @elainelinle  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi. I still bring the raw food with me. I invested in a yeti bag and put all his raw food in there. When I travel I always make sure to request a small refrigerator in the hotel or wherever I’m staying at. It has not stopped is before from feeding him raw hike traveling. Also. One time I ran out of raw food. I googled a natural pet store and they had raw food as well that was complete. Meaning it had the meat, organs, muscles, and also veggie and supplements mixed in. If you are flying I suggest preparing to look for places to source raw when planning the trip. You can do it!!

    I am going to put our dogs on a raw diet too, we have two siberian huskies and they have diarrhea alot of times. Currently I cook their food but I feel they dont get all the nutrients as I dont necessarily have time to cook it every day and try to add stuff in. They are super picky.... Love this channel though! I tried to bring up the issues my husky was having with his food and brought up a raw diet to their vet and he completely shut down the argument it was really dissapointing. I love husky squad though they are great and i plan on doing their course too

      Get a new vet!
      Quality of nutrition is ALWAYS important.
      When I had cancer, my oncologist said nutrition was "totally irrelevant" and I fired him on the spot. Nutrition can literally be a matter of life and death.

    Isn't it expensive on raw diet? How much do you spend on food for your pet ?

    • @elainelinle
      @elainelinle  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! It’s actually not that expensive. There are so many places to source the proteins once you understand what to feed your pup. Like a local butcher shop can sell you organs and muscle meats. There are also more and more raw food companies now. I just started trying a complete raw recipe from a company called Viva Raw. They have the meats and organs and bones all mixed in for you. I spend about $300 a month for raw food. It’s so worth it because I know he’s not eating crap from kibble. I also don’t want to deal with kidney and liver and Gastrointestinal issues when he gets older as the the organs will get inflamed from processing the kibble. I budget and allocate money for the raw food. I will not spend money on things I want, but what I need. It’s a sacrifice I am willing to make for Gatsby. Like eating out less, shopping only on sale if I need something or just not spending on fancy stuff. In the end, all this is worth it because the vet bills will be a killer once they get illnesses. Oh! And don’t forget to get pet health insurance. I saved thousands of dollars on vet bills. Will be coming up with a video soon about that. 🙏

      It’s optional. But I like to add it because it’s such a powerful herb! It’s cancer fighting and also helps with inflammation. I also take the turmeric for myself!

    You must be rich lol 😂 raw meat every day can’t be cheap!

    • @elainelinle
      @elainelinle  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      If you know where to source the raw meat, it is actually less expensive than a premium bag of kibble. The video has a link to a course which teaches how to source raw meat. If money is really the issue, I would spend less money on other things for myself or find a way to make more money so that I can give what my dog deserves. And that’s good health.

      We aren't feeding them wagyu steaks...
      My 7 year old Siberian has been on a raw diet all his life. Rich? I live at poverty level. Imagine how much you're going to waste on veterinary bills if you think you're "saving" money on kibble.
      There are all kinds of ways to get what they need cheaply. I know what stores have what ingredients at the best prices and I stock up when eggs, meats, and chicken drumsticks are on sale. Chicken hearts, gizzards, liver, and feet are always inexpensive and are very high in nutrition. I get beef liver, pig ears, and duck liver and necks cheap as well. When we cook for ourselves, there's a certain amount of meat scraps that most people throw out that's perfectly acceptable for your dog. There are several veggies that can be added in small amounts like carrot, sweet potato, pumpkin, ect. They love fish skin, too. You can find cans of sardines and anchovies at the dollar store. Containers of pre and probiotics and fish oil go a long way. I'm willing to sacrifice and budget certain things for myself in order to make sure my beloved companion has what he needs for optimum health regardless of my financial status.
      Look at the obscene prices humans spend on prepackaged, processed, take out, & junk food which is poor quality, not nutritious, and poisonous. Then there's that daily trip to Starbucks...

    • @Susweca5569
      @Susweca5569 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Elaine Le
      I live in farming country, and my landlord of 24 years has beef cattle.... They give me the scraps and all the bones I want. I can grind the scrap meat, and the bones are a wonderful source of broth and marrow. Next time I have a little extra money, I'm going to invest in an extra box freezer so I can stock up every time they process their livestock.
