Let's explore some nations that have almost identical names! The Korean War (1950-1953) entrenched the division, leading to two separate countries: North Korea and South Korea.
They may sound alike but, knowing the origin of some of the names, I know it is often really coincidental. I understand the suffix 'stan' can also be translated as literally as 'the place where the (name of people group) stand. So Afghanistan is the place where the Afghans stand. There are other 'stans' which are regions rather than countries such as Baluchistan.
Every -Stan country: Nono stanland (afghan) Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.
The exception to this is Pakistan, as it means "the place/home of the pure." That's why the demonym of Pakistan is Pakistani, not "Pak" or something.

How did you miss India and Indonesia ? Also in the Guinea list you could have added Guyana (S.America) and French Guiana (France's part)
