The vocal coach himself is a metal vocalists and is in a few bands. th-cam.com/video/1H1-yqK4lwo/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=KardavoxAcademy
So, vocal layering is really common in this style of music (deathcore). What you were hearing is just multiple layered tracks. This man is one of the best in the industry. His name is Alex Terrible. He has his own TH-cam channel where you can see his raw vocals. He is an absolute beast. Another band to check out that has a similar sound but also displays clean vocals would be Whitechapel. Check out a song called “When a Demon Defiles a Witch” by them. Absolutely incredible. Thanks for the video, it’s nice to see people not shutting down immediately lol.
Just cartoonish mainstream shocker stuff... Couldn't figure out what's all the fuss with this band and this Alex Terrible... Not bad for deathcore standards but not impressive... The drumming? Also not bad but no jaw dropping. It's some sort of pop death metal... And then that breakdown... Bahaha!!! 🤣🤣🤣
When he screams "Demolisher" after he's finished summoning a demon from hell he actually does it without a mic live, at the smaller venues they usually play you hear his scream even without a mic
The fact he’s Russian plays a role, even if it’s a minor one, but yeah he’s really good at projection. Bought his 2016 vocal lessons back when I worked at McDonald’s making 7.25, and that was something he stressed was important, which is very true. Gotta have that power. Just seeing this brought that memory back, sorry for the spew of memories lmao
In a lot of this genre, the vocalist will layer his higher screams along with the lower growls in certain parts of the song. On the other hand, the low breakdown was all him, no effects lol
@@MrRaven420 nope, it's not exactly like in this song. Also, you'd be amazed how small he still would sound without any effects. In his phone videos he deliberately chose the rooms he recorded in, so he could add extra power and size. The effects add exactly that and additional wideness and clarity. It's not a sin to use effects, especially not when you only enhance the sounds you can achieve. I'm not so sure about using effects to achieve sounds. In this case, it definitely is the former.
@@buwumet if you watchive shows of this song, he sometimes doesn't use the mic while screaming "Dmeolosher" in the breakdown and you can still hear it perfectly. Dude has amazing projections

To clarify, yes that is actually his voice. In live shows he pulls away the microphone and quiets the crowd and he is actually louder and clearer than with the mic.. it’s insane. Alex is a monster in the best way possible
I've been a metal vocalist for 15 years and I barely even understand how alex gets these sounds. Hes a goddamn beast and I looooooove those huge lows hes got
I find it really funny how Alex has inadvertently become a study piece of vocals on the internet through one single track. He’s a killer vocalist but I never thought a deathcore vocalist would be so praised by traditional vocal coaches for what he’s doing. I’m a drummer by trade, so I’ve spent a lot of time focusing on that, I forgot for a bit how great Alex is on the vocals and brings so much flavor to the music.
This was probably my favorite reaction to this song, and I've watched at least 20-30. Those low guttural growls are 100% authentic. There are videos of him doing that same part with no mic and he does it with so much power that he can be heard in the back still! Alex Terrible is an unbelievable vocalist!
This is the most adorable reaction to deathcore exposure! watching someone develop their first "stank face" is awesome! (That's the face you accidentally make when i breakdown is absolutely disgusting) Love the LOTR references to screaming too :P
I just watched 14 mins of Julia getting uncomfortable with demonic pig vaccuum 😅 For deathcore genre, the pig squeal is very common. In a lot of songs, the highs and lows are layered together. Check out Mark aka Kardavox Academy, he explained more in-depth on the vocal techniques for this particular genre.
Alex has actually done this song live to show people his range in vocals 😉 the vocals are only layered because it's a music vid to make the song sound better but the guitarist also screams aswell
That low low growl (from where hes speaking russian till where he says " DEMOLISHER") is 100% him. they layered a mid-scream on top of the demolisher part but that low is real, and he's done it live in concert, as well as in a video that he posted to youtube. He has one of the most DEMONIC voices in deathcore.
"Part of me is terrified, part of me is intrigued." They've done their job lol. I'd recommend starting lighter but if you want a real experience go to a live show. The power and adrenaline are life changing.

Hold my beer while I'm cheating with triggers and fake heel-toe technique. He played 16th notes in 300 bmp. But in fact he plays 16th in 150 bpm, second stroke is made with only beater rebound. So in that heel-toe doubles he has strong first strike and weak second, with only 1 inch amplitude. Considering what happened in Pisces, this is going to be a fun video
pisces is the surprise element, there is no here
@@ps-em4nz There is actually.
I love the breakdown dont get me wrong, but from a vocal coach point of view a female starting to growl after singing normally is going to be more impressive then Alexs digging in the depths of hell for that low :-D
At least she can really sing. Maybe he can to but I did not hear it on this video.
@@rogerledoux4741 hi there. I’ve heard him sing in his cleans and he’s really good. I listen to both bands and Alex has even covered Jinjer’s Pisces. He does a lot of covers. Cheers 🥂
From Russia with love =D
It will be awesome)
I see the joy in your eyes and expression deep down you find this feeling satisfying
They have a video of the drummer playing this song. You a clear look of his feet running the bass. You get a good appreciation of how effortless he makes it seem.
I can already tell, this one's gonna be my favourite reaction.🔥
This song grows on the victim, I mean listener, with repeated exposure. Thanks for reacting to it.
After seeing you’re reaction to the drums, Fleshgod Apocalypse - “The Violation”
The violation is actually slower I think
or anything from Nile. Fleshgod is fantastic
Yeah holy shit, Alex has the deepest growl I have ever heard in my many years of exploring metal, it's even better seeing someone react to just how deep it is
LOL JULIA, I love your reactions to metal because your facial and body expressions are absolutely priceless.
I can see the moment where your soul temporarily exits your body and you shrivel up into a state of total uncomfortableness and shock.
Yet you pull yourself together and can enjoy the music for what it is even if it's not necessarily a genre you frequently enjoy.
🖤😂🤘
A lot of metal has vocalists making pig noises so you were actually pretty spot on with that one
This is gonna be EPIC. Can't wait.
The 2 most popular reaction songs of 2020 were this and Eskimo Callboy's "Hypa Hypa", so you know what you have to do next....
Hypa, Hypa, you're pretty and i like ya... now imma be singing this song all night long!
Pisces by Jinjer, Kingdom by Devin Townsend, Sound of Silence by Disturbed to round out the top 5 reactions 🤣
This is probably my favourite reaction video ever 😂 Thank you
I have listened to metal for decades, and I love the fact that we were both amazed by the same parts.
The Feet.
The Break.
DE-MOL-ISH-ER.
The BREAK.
Thank you for making us happy, Julia. 😁
5:30 Julia: That kick, it sounds like a machine gun.
Drummer: Hold my beer.
If he will turn out triggers that 16th in 300 bpm will sound like 16th with 150 bpm, you will never hear second stroke.
@@grrtt666 Look at this guy who doesn't use any "cheaty" tools or techniques to achieve the sound he's trying to create!
Is using a distortion pedal or synth or a fucking cup mute also "cheating"? Piss off with this gatekeeping bullshit.
1:08 "why are you doing this to me..T-T" oh sweetheart we've only just begun :'D
Yep been looking forward to this one!
Love how she had a full minute of rewinding and enjoying the heavy music. On a vocal vid. 🤣👍
You should react to Shadow of Intent - The Heretic Prevails, that's where u gonna listen to a proper pig squeal
"IS THIS THE BEGINNIG ORR THE ENDDDD
YOUR FATE'S IN THE PALM OF MY HAAAANDDDD!"
