Mechanical engineer here. SMH. Why..just why? If it's a decent bearing its like 52100 bearing steel and carburized so almost as hard as normal tool steel. Yeah you could use tungsten carbide or diamond tipped but what is the purpose of drilling a hole in the bearing? The heat of drilling will probably overtemper (eg soften) the bearing rendering it useless as an engineering device. I suppose if you're making overpriced jewelry for wealthy fools it makes sense.
