I understand the range anxiety. I still have the stock 13-liter tank on my DR and carry two extra liters, but I am not riding in remote areas. Still, fuel is always on my mind. This was a great adventure on great roads. I enjoyed seeing this slice of Australia. Thanks!

The standard tank would get us in a lot of problems in Western Australia. It gives about 260km/163 miles. Ok for civilisation between towns.
My 20 litre Acerbis gets about 400km/250 miles. It's great for day trips in civilisation but I wouldn't like to depend on it in more remote areas. Especially if the going is slow in sand.
I'm going to upgrade to a 30 litre transparent safari sometime. Not urgent...but it will really sort out the running on fumes.

There is also a guy called Skids and Stuff who rides a DR. This is him on the South Coast - he can really ride - and he has a 30 litre and nearly run out!!
