Well, I can say I'm super happy I bought these now. Going into my second season with them, 125's with universal bindings. I love them so much. I screwed my snowshoes to the side of my house for decoration. Won't be needing them anymore. I use them pole-less when I'm hunting, ski poles if I want some cardio, and with a tiak when I really want some fun or to traverse technical terrain. Love them so much. I keep trying to sell everybody else on them. My moose hunting partner wants a pair, folks in the ski club are asking about them, people back in the bush. Awesome, awesome skis. Great for field work, like biologists or foresters, getting to remote camping sites, or just pure recreation. Love them.
@@michaeldumas4907 I've never done it but it does appear at times in the video that they are leaning back, I suppose to take the weight off of the front of the ski and get the nose up. It would certainly slow you down if dug in deeper creating more drag.
LOVE my Hok 145s, and I have a lot of other skis. One thing to make your day much easier… stop picking up the skis with each step! The whole point of skis is to slide them whether you are going uphill or down. That’s why they have such a huge advantage over snowshoes. Don’t waste the advantage by walking like they were snowshoes!
I have the 125s with the universal binding and I wear my mukluks! It works great and I love that I don’t have to change out my boots. Probably not as good as some hard tele boots but that’s ok for me

Beauty, I’ll have a pair for next yr, be great to get into camp, have you pull a pack toboggan wearing them yet?
if you use the tiak downhill holding it on the right side.....do u brake or slow down by pushing down with the right hand and sit back?
@@michaeldumas4907 Tiak is more of a tripod for support where you need it. Not really a brake or rudder.
@@gilligallou a good question, as I would be pulling a pulk/toboggan/sled. Nobody answered your question however.

Cool ; ) It would be neat to see the traditionals try a couple ski poles as well . Too beautiful and fun !
Been thinking about these for a couple of years but want to use them with my MukLuks. It's either new snowshoes, or these at some point.
