Beautiful song! Love Avi's music. I appreciate your reaction. I am not sure what else you have reacted to besides First Place I Go. Otherside is peaceful and meditation like. When I'm a Fool live at sunset sound for a rousing bluesy feel or Change on the Rise for a driving tribal beat. Cheers!
Glad to see you back with Avi. You might enjoy "The Summit". To me, it has a very Seals and Crofts feel to it. I love everything Avi (and Cat Stevens too), so I don't think you can go wrong. Even so, I will recommend "Fields and Pier" as Avriel and the Sequoias, "It Knows Me: Alt Version" (audio only), and "Full Moon: Live from TH-cam Space LA."
Although this is filmed in a church, it is not a religious song. Its about Avi's battle with mental health issues and how, no matter how low he got, in the end it would all be okay. If you want to hear a very different Avi, try 'When I'm a Fool' live at Sunset Sound. Although there are a few good basses around at the moment, there is no-one quite like Avi. He has inspired a number of younger bass singers - please listen to Tomi P and Efe Sayin's tribute to Avi, in a medley of his songs. Be sure to listen to the very end! th-cam.com/video/kjxh5dQuaNA/w-d-xo.html
There are actually 3 versions of this song, the first one having been the one he did with the song's co-writer, Grammy-winner Joy Williams (formerly of the duo The Civil Wars). The 7 Layers Sessions video was shot in a church in Utrecht, Netherlands while he was on his second European in Spring 2022. The tour bus pulled up front, he got out with his guitar, met with the 7 Layers people for a few minutes, and then did this. The third version was done in the Sunset Sound Studio session with producer Shooter Jennings, and they gave the song a very different feel. Av loves doing alternative versions of some of his songs, doing covers of his own music. Here's the link for the Sunset Sound version of "All Is Well" , with a country feel and the addition of piano, pedal steel, bass and drums - th-cam.com/video/vGCTVa7QqjQ/w-d-xo.html
Great reaction! Being a non-musician myself, I appreciate your technical analysis. And the fact that you assess music from a mental health / neuro divergent perspective means that you will appreciate Avi’s journey via his song writing. He has several dark and moody songs from the beginning of his solo career where you can clearly see his struggles. I’d suggest “First Place I Go”, which talks about his battle with negative thoughts/feelings and is one of my favorites from his latest album.
Thank you for a great reaction to this remarkable song, Avi is amazing. For more reactions I suggest “When I’m a fool” from his EP “Live at Sunset Sound”, and “I’ll get by”.
This song always brings me to a place of total peace. The lyrics remind me of the Buddhist saying, "Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional." It sounds like Avi has travelled through his own pain, beyond suffering, to the recognition that all is indeed well. Such a profound journey, and that deeply resonant voice provides the perfect delivery. Thanks for sharing.
Love Love Love Avi's music, I will second all of the suggestions made here. There is no other artist like Avi that is why we all love him he is original!

Thanks so much. You got my sub. I'm in love with this man's voice. I love Cat Steven's too. They have that soulfulness in common.
