Been working with my dad in this field for quite a bit now, and watching your videos make me feel like I'm going to learn so much more overtime as i work, looking forward to the future of the HVAC business!
Love the content man! I'm on my own as well in the midwest. A few years in and I completely understand a day in the life! Stay blessed and keep grinding brother!
You remind me of one of my old bosses. Had a huge family and a heart of gold, I haven't finished watching this video yet but I can already tell that you are a good honest man
Dude you’re an inspiration. I’ve been in the residential HVAC field for 15 years in South Louisiana (New Orleans). I’m ready to make the leap to my own one man company. I wish I could talk to you more about starting up. Keep up the great videos.
Nice job brother as always! This has been pretty much my typical day lately. When your one man like you and I , you have to be the installer, service tech, parts runner, secretary, and everything else. Then you come home and catch up on paperwork and books and banking. It’s all good though, wouldn’t have it any other way. So blessed to have a thriving business and good loyal customers.
Chris: Your videos are my favorite. Please make more videos. I learn almost every time I watch one. I’d love to see a video and how you handle air balance.
I value your channel I have watched many hvac channels and only learned from your channel most just talk about nothing you got some good tricks keep up the work
So I guess I'm not the only one who washes their Milwaukee vacuum out after each use? 🤣🤣😂. I keep mine in my cab, so I don't want that stinking up the Silverado, bad enough as is with my own B.O. Good video, keep up the good work!
Great content! 3yrs old still good. Cool seeing the fam, best wishes to you and the clan. You got me here in slow heat season thinking "oh yeah summer, gotta get my cardio up for ac season " 😅
If you ever have power to both wires at the condenser or have a short in the two wire all you have to do is take the Brown or white wire of the contactor and ground it somewhere on the unit once it gets power from the stat it automatically turns on quick trick that can sometimes save you from hunting a pesky low voltage
I started HVAC over a year ago I love your Channel I started in the summer was thrown directly into the fire ! Super educating thank you for the content
I hate tight crawl spaces, I’m far too fat to be belly crawling through 1 foot of clearance 😂. When I put cooling in my house I went wireless in order to avoid pulling new wire. Been solid for the past 5 years. Awesome video man! Sucks that contactor failed so quickly.
Such a pleasure to see you work !!! I work as a Physical Therapist Assistant and thinking of changing my career to something skill trade labor type. Thank you for sharing this !
Had the same problem on on a gas package unit. Frist tech replaced it and found nothing wrong a few weeks later same problem! Turns out they had a generator for there house for when our power company (PG&E) shuts us down. After talking to the customer for a few Found out they were trying to run it with a small generator. They told me they were told the generator would not work for the package unit, so I think they just forgot. System was also new. Good luck
Good video I have official watched them all and I will tell you those little darlin should keep you getting up every day and growing that business good luck
@@nickneal6938 the community, of the city, I'm in the country, lived in Minot North Dakota for 6 months and hated it, also, is this something I should learn in Michigan (where I live now) or I'd there different qualifications in different states?
On your shorted wire call you could of tried to use just your y terminal from inside to outside and ground your c terminal outside in the condenser control cabinet.
I installed a york split last season and the condenser had leaks on all the u joints It was a nightmare to get it replaced ,took a a month and a half had to go back every 2 weeks to top off the condenser
Get ready for 13+ hour a day when you get in the field, expect to miss lots of events, but’s it’s a good field to learn to make a lot of money with no degree
I’m on my third year in the field worked the first 10 months in resi and got lucky to have gotten a job with a commercial/industrial company and much prefer the commercial side but just make sure you learn from the right people you’ll know who’s good by working with different people, don’t take shortcuts and be thorough you’ll never have problems or call backs then but all in all I enjoy my job and the learning process and the more you know the more money there is on the table so don’t get stagnant I’m making more at my job now than the resi guys that have been in the field for 10+ years so commercial is definitely worth checking out if possible for you
I'm going to be a senior this coming up school year and have a HVAC job for the summer. It's a great trade, but get ready to spend some money on some tools like an impact, drill, bits, tape measures, PVC cutters, electrical meter, just about anything you can imagine lol. I plan to go to college for HVAC and possibly some type of business degree
Great Video like always brother thanks for what you do!!! That was a York correct, I’m a Carrier guy!!! It happens nothing is perfect out of 100 there is always something wrong with all systems, that’s funny though but sucks at the same time. You motivate me man thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
That low voltage short. Did it have low and hive pressure safety switches. If it did, did you check them for rubouts? They are in the series with the low voltage y cooling circuit
Does your Milwaukee shop vac really get a good suction on the pvc? It's slightly bigger than the pvc, so I wasn't sure it would actually be good for that!!! I gotta try that!
One other thing, for the call that you had that was only shorting out with the outdoor unit low voltage connected did you have more then two wires going outside? You could just change the wires instead of pulling new wire.
How many calls do you average a day? At one time I had 70 men working for me. New installs, change outs, service had 8 men. Good luck and GODSPEED. Stay small makes you more money. Are you on a flat rate pricing?
You can always tell a good man by how his kids interact with him. You sir are doing it right 👏
So true!
I need a man like that in my life
Doesn't make him a good tech tho

Love the family life part of the video. gotta work hard but also keep family time in balance.
Man, brotha! You’re living the life I pray for. Blessed man you are. I’m currently in HVAC school. Thanks for sharing.
I love the “Day in the life” content, I’m strongly considering getting into HVAC so it’s nice to see the things I’d be dealing with

I have never been a fan of York products in 39 years in the HVAC trade. Great video and content Zach. Keep up the awesome job man. Peace \m/\m/
Most companies buy their contactors, transformers, etc for the same company anyway. The contactor in a york is the contactor in a trane
I know it’s been 11 months, but that shortage sounds like a call that I had and it was a bad contactor. Replaced it and it worked perfectly
I like that umbrella, handy when it's raining and your doing a job!
