    I love the pride that the Japanese take in everything they do so well organized and clean.

    When I went to Nakano Broadway, I loaded my iPad mini up with photos of toys and books that I wanted and would show them to the shop keepers and they would direct me to the proper store on the Nakano Broadway map. It worked out really well and I found some of the things I was looking for that I would probably have missed otherwise.

    Nice video! I used to live in Tokyo and have good memories of Nakano Broadway. The amount of vintage Star Wars stuff they had was an unexpected but pleasant surprise; I never even considered bringing some of my old ones from home that I could trade.

    I just ordered my first Microman! Super excited, only 8 bucks from Mercari jp. It looks similar to your Ishi. My lady has been collecting toys from Japan for years now and showed me how to find crazy deals recently, now we want to go to Japan to go hunting and your video is fueling that desire.

    Only ones I recognized were Dada Monster (there's also a female version) & Ultraman Tiga Dark (or Tiger, not sure), the blue one I have no idea, but the rest of the haul seems pretty nice. I can't avoid thinking which toys I'd pick when I see these videos.

    Just got back from an extended vacation in Japan. Perusing Akihabara, Nakano Broadway, and Den Den Town in Osaka was some of my favorite things I did there. I’m surprised you were able to film so much. The Japanese seem to have a big issue with taking pictures and stuff, even though it can be good free advertising.

    • @toypolloi
      @toypolloi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never had any issues taking photos. Where were you taking them?

    • @brianbuchmeier
      @brianbuchmeier 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Toy Polloi There were a lot of places that had ‘no picture’ signs. Not just toy shops. The place I got told to stop taking them was one of the shops in Den Den town in Osaka.

    Really nice haul from Japan. I really need to visit places like this to get some cool classics. The micronauts are sweet finds. also the Ghostbuster you have is Peter not Ray (probably a quick slip of the tongue). I'm looking forward to these future projects especially the proton pack repair.

    Actually that's a Peter Venkman figure you have there. The toys were based on the cartoon, so that's why he doesn't look too much like Bill Murray.

    Love the henshin cyborg stuff, ive got a nice little collection myself, including a very rare Cyborg rider. A nice selection of of bits you've got there Dave, you must be running out of room to put them! Thats certainly the case here at The Gaming Toy Boy HQ :-(

    I went to japan for the first time in April and I enjoyed the whole trip. I did meet toycats Ishii and went to his store twice but on the first time I went it was shut but the second time I went I almost walked out again but the shop owner went rushing to the shop to open it.
    I did not speak much Japanese but got along fine the people were helpful . I've been to two off the mandrake shops both in Tokyo one in Complex and the other one in Shibuya that is where I found the winner robo. the people in both shops were helpful.
    I have not been to Nakano yet. oh and I saw the giant gundam both in the day in unicorn mode and in the night in destroy mode.

    When I went to Tokyo I was really daunted by the language and I wish I had the wherewithal to have visited these places. I visited before your last video on these places though. I did grab a cool High speed train transformer for my son though. At least now I have a good reason to return.

    Awesome! We are living in Tokyo. Did you ever visit STAR CASE in Koenji? It's entirely Star Wars. It's small and packed, but fun to visit. You could make a stop on Chuo Line going to or from Kichijoji. It doesn't open until 2:00 in the afternoon though.

    • @toypolloi
      @toypolloi  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do go to Star Case. But I find it a very expensive shop compared to others.
