I like to think that that hammer is a manifestation of Amy's inner thoughts. She deeply hates Sonic's attitude and behavior but can't express it truthfully.

lemme guess, this is a fan extension of the sonic and the black knight ending and also leads into the lost world version of amy. (where she matures)

I wish Sega cared as much about Amy Rose and her character development as much as fans do. I hate seeing what they did to her character after how sweet and wholesome she was in adventures and plenty of other iterations. I argue she even had plenty of really sweet moments in sonic x too. The writers at some point quit caring about her and thought it would be funny to make her look like a psycho.
Amy Rose as a character deserves better and I mean the character they created back in the 90s. Not boom Amy who is an entirely different character not connected to the amy we all grew up with. Instead of trying to sweep Amy under the rug and replace her they need to develop and fix her.
Yeah I agree. But I feel like they’re slowly acknowledging that. I noticed in Sonic Racing (the new game idk) Amy is a lot more mild and Sonic is teasing her more often. Lost World was a sign of her development as well. There are scenes where Sonic shows that he’s comfortable around her. And IDW comics, Sonic takes note of how Amy has matured. And Sonic does more to spend time with her lol. Lost World-IDW comics are subtle signs of her development.

@@mariobroultimate1808 yep for the most part. I do feel idw did sonamy the best so far but frontiers is solid and has Amy growing as a character. I especially like the Japanese script for frontiers which imo I think is better.
I wish all sonamy fans were this healthy, the mayority are wierd as heck!

THIS happened right before Lost World. Amy's hammer gains sentince somehow (Chaos Energy related.) and Amy then realizes how she went overboard (most of her portrayals in game canon where she got Flanderized.) and apologizes not only to Sonic, but also to Cream, Tails, Blaze and anyone she went cuckoo on. But seriously though, I really do think something similar DOES happen in canon, to explain her recent portrayals. (Although she was good in Unleashed and 06.) (Claiming as headcanon.)

3:31 Why would Amy think Sonic was lying about the whole Knight of the Wind incident? I would think she knew him(and some of the crazy shit he gets into) better than that.
Because of the way sonic treats Amy and always rejected her. This isn’t the only time he’s done this. In the anime he stood her up like this and then ran right by her like she was invisible to go race Chris uncle. And he never apologizes for it either. Of course I know those are 2 separate continuities but this has been their general dynamic. Not taking up for Amy entirely but sonic has been insensitive to her a lot throughout the series as well. Unfortunately sega stopped caring about developing Amy into a character people could love and relate to but instead treated her character like a clown to laugh at.
