I watched you guys power clean video were ur using the bands and also drilling pause sets I loved the video and have been practicing the pauses and hip extension, the problem is we dont have a platform for the bands like you guys do (in the process of fabing one up) do you have any other great drills that would help me power under the bar and hit that "perfect speed"?
How is your front squat to clean ratio? If your front squat is significantly higher than your clean, then you need to focus on your cleans. Find out where you're having the most trouble (first pull, finish, speed under the bar, etc), If your front squat is only 10-20 kilos more than your clean, then up your squat frequency.
I'm 66 and brand new at this. I've never lifted weights before January 2019 ... Yup!! THIS YEAR. Last weekend, February 23, 2019, I won my weight class and age group at the Ontario Masters Weightlifting Competition. BUT ... that said, I have zero flexibility in my elbows and shoulders. I cannot do what this lifter did from the 1:15 to 1:30 mark. How do I improve shoulder flexibility??? I can power jerk 70 kilos, but I cannot catch the weight where it needs to be for a normal clean.
I know this response is extremely late but id recommend almost excessive stretching and bare bar work trying to get into the position shown. Id recommend olekshiy torokhity’s shoulder mobility videos to assist in improving your mobility

Anything you can suggest if I have trouble because I arch my lower back. Anything I can do to strengthen my thoracic. Thank you

pretty much everyone should be cleaning more than they jerk
Michael not always the case especially with elite lifters.
There are a lot of elite lifters who jerk more than they clean.
