He had never been so close to God in all his life. He had the light. Transcended his soul from purgatory. Unyet after all that, he found himself returning to darkness. Memories of the light beams shining through forest trees fading in his mind. He didn't know what was going wrong. Please come back to the light.
this is an unbearably remarkable rendition of this song! music to die to. i actually just found out that mira calix was sean booths wife a minute ago, what a trip.
@brucekinses I *think* the original, whilst beautiful, was driven by a much darker theme. Isn't the whole EP about the Waco/Branch Davidians thing? I seem to recall that the vocal clip is actually a sample of Amo Roden or something. Then again I may have it all hopelessly wrong and it is about lemonade and sunshine :)
Excellent stuff. I can't stand it, nor do I see the point when people try to match the original as close as possible. This is something new and interesting. Re-created the name of the compilation, not re-recorded after all.
I saw this the other day on a warp compilation and wondered what covering BoC would sound like. This is pretty, almost meditational and droney. They have done something different with it, but as a stand alone song it doesn't have the same insistent hypnotic grab that the original does. no percussion creates a radical difference in the feel of the track here.
R.I.P. Mira. Electronic music needs more artists like you.
So sad, too soon :(
I feel lijr I've come late to the party, this song was a love. To listen to.
What we do today, echoes in eternity. Rest in peace chantal.
One of about 4 pieces of music in existence that brings me to tears every time without fail.
I did not expect this cover to be so good.
This is what covers should be. Simply stunning. I couldn't believe my ears when I listened to this. It's as good as the original. IT IS!
I feel like weeping uncontrollably when I hear this.
My favourite BOC track and this is actually an incredible version.. Glad I found it!
me too brother, 5 years later then you, but happy
RIP Mira Calix
This is amazing. I feel like this is the soundtrack to all my best and most beautiful thoughts and so hearing this really takes me to those places.
Absolute gem !
I've never researched it but surely the word 'sublime' was invented just to describe this piece of art?
My goosebumps have goosebumps.
clever comment.
recursive goosebumpery
I had to stop what I was doing. Thank you.
Really nice soundscape, love it.
So moving and touching to me...RIP Mira

I like it a lot, but I wish the tempo was less funereal. It's making me hope that there's a bluegrass cover out there.
Top notch
just imagine Boards of Canada reacting to this, they would be amazed.
excellent
@fetishalchemy no percussion?
The best part of this track is from 0:00 to 6:22
J'aimerais ceci lors de la combustion de ma dépouille.
