The story is that, when she hit 14, all the songs she had planned for the first talent show had to be adjusted to compensate for the changes to her voice. Once in a lifetime performer.

The best singer in the world and a consummate performer! There is a video of this without the backing track, just Diana's voice, and though you may not be able to hear it on this video, you can see it, but on that video you can hear her exhale each time after "Please believe me" and "If you leave me". I am not sure why she did, but I found it interesting when I heard it.
